View 2 RepliesI can now access my router config pages when connected to my ATT router. However, I cannot seem to access the Internet when connected to my e3000; I just time out. I also have difficulties just connecting to my e300 for some reason. I have been connected a couple of times where i could access the Internet but it was only for a few minutes and it was very slow.I can't seem to put the router in the DMZ because the ATT router will only DMZ a DHCP-enabled device and the e3000 has a static IP (192.168.1.253). I have tried running the PING and Traceroute diagnostics and both just come back with Unknown Host no matter what URL i enter. The status page also appears as if the e3000 is not properly talking to the ATT router. Under the Internet Connection area it shows Connection Type: Automatic Configuration - DHCP then 0s for IP address, subnet, and gateway. the DNS entries are empty and the MTU shows 1500 and the DHCP Lease Time is also empty. i am all ears and willing to try whatever. But i just want to be able to connect to my e3000 so i can utilize the wireless n internally and connect a 2TB external drive to share. But I also want to be able to get out to the Internet when i am connected to the device.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to use a WRT54GL with U-Verse. The problem is that the router does not get a connection to the modem. It can't ping the modem, and it doesn't show up on on the list of devices connected to the modem. DHCP assigns an IP address of 127.0.0.1, which is outside the range of the modem [192.168.1.1 ... 192.168.1.253]. The router is also showing a default gateway of 0.0.0.0, and a subnet mask of 255.0.0.0. (And yes, I have released and renewed the lease, rebooted the modem, and reconnected the modem.) The router WAN side is set to DHCP, and the operating mode was changed from gateway to router (the gateway setting doesn't work either, for that matter).
View 9 Replies View RelatedTrying all week to get my E1200 setup as an Access Point with my AT&T U-Verse 2WIRE Modem. [code] It just never seems to work correctly. It will connect for a second or 2 and then jam up. My ultimate scenario would be to have the E1200 just act as a wireless access point and have the 2WIRE do the rest: firewall, DCHP, etc.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am swapping my AT&T DSL and Comcast cable for U-verse. In the basement, I have a Netopia DSL modem connected to a Linksys BEFRS81 v. 3 ethernet Cable/DSL router/8-port switch. Cat 5 cables are attached to the router, then run throughout the house so we are "networked" to the DSL modem and use a patch cord from laptop or desktop into the wall to get to the Internet.

I recently bought a Cisco e3000 router. I updated the firmware but I am still only getting 1.33 Mbps at most. The only things plugged into it is my PC and my xbox. I bought the router so i could get a better connection on my xbox so netflix wont stop playback.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have an e3000 that cannot obtain an address from the ISP. I can get an address on the computer and an old router by directly connecting the cable to the computer or the router. I can also daisy-chain the e3000 to the old router, and I can get an address on the e3000 from the old router. I have hard reset the e3000, changed firmware from the Linksys to TomatoUSB and back to Linksys, and I still can't get it to work. It worked fine on Saturday until a bolt of lightning hit close to the house. Since then, I cannot get the e3000 to connect to the ISP.

View 3 Replies View RelatedIt seems like after a certain amount of time, maybe a few days... my E3000 gets slowww.. I'm talking dog slow. And it's not just the internet, I have a media server connected to it, and usually when I put something on it, the transfer rate is about 3.5MB/s (not bits, bytes). But everything is slow, I top out at speed of maybe 1/6 normal on the internet as well.
View 8 Replies View RelatedWe have a wireless internet service. Not satellite. We basically have an antenna on our house that picks up the signal from a tower a mile or two away. I used the e3000 router when we lived in town with broadband internet and it worked fine. I can't get it to keep a hold of a signal. I can connect to the router from the computers but the router drops the signal from the tower. I have an old router that the wireless company was kind enough to lend me that works , but the signal is weak and it could die at any moment... I"m at my wits end.. I have an expensive piece of equipment that wont hold the signal. I have updated the firmware and the Cisco connect software..
View 5 Replies View RelatedHas anyone tested QoS on the new E3000? Whenever I add an application (e.g. Voice Device) and set priority to Medium or High, my upstream bandwidth for everything else is immediately cut significantly, even when I'm not using the priority application.
For example, with QoS disabled, I can consistently get 10Mb upstream (speedtest.comcast.net). As soon as I enable QoS, upstream is capped to exactly 2Mb! On my old router, there was an option to set the total upstream bandwidth -- but on the E3000 there is no such option that I can find.
just bought an e3000 and want to use it with wireless internet- usb modem. when setting up it wouldnt go any further than the 'searching for connection' page as it couldnt detect a connection in the 'internet' lan (wan?) port.can i set it up to accept the wireless usb modem?

View 2 Replies View RelatedLooking at upgrading my router to an e3000 however I've got a couple of questions. I might come across as a bit thick with this one but I have read that you need a modem to make the router work, I can't get my head around this as I've not come across this before. I always thought the router was the modem!! I've also heard that the E3000 only works with cable ISP and not ADSL, is that true?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have FiOS and their supplied wireless router Actiontec #MI424WR. I have home theater equipment that uses the newer N signal so I purchased a Linksys E3000 Wireless-N Router. I have one of the LAN outputs on the Actiontec feeding the Linksys input and Wi-Fi turned off on the Actiontec. This is working good for my wireless home theater equipment but I am having problems with my wired speed. It has gone from averaging anywhere from 20 to 30 mbps on numerous test sites when plugged into the Actiontec to averaging around 10 mbps when plugged into the Linksys.
1) Is my wireless N speed going to top out at 10mbps or less since that is all the router is showing on wired? Shouldnt N be broadcasting a faster speed if given the ability?
2) I have my computer currently plugged directly into the Linksys verses the Actiontec. This makes it easier to program the Linksys router. Since I am no longer using the wireless part of the Actiontec there really is no need to be plugged into it. Is there anything I can do get the speed higher on the Linksys, a setting I can change? Will I have to plug the computer back into the Actiontec to get the higher speed and then move it every time I may need to make a change to the Linksys?
Want to switch to dualband E3000 from older, working fine except needs resetting often. What steps do I need to take? I do not have E3000 setup disk. I fear that I will go down a path that makes both of the routers unusable, at least down many hours.

View 6 Replies View RelatedA retailer (Best Buy's Geek Squad) made adjustments to my Linksys E3000 router when I bought a Sony Media Player from them a number of months ago. It was the first wireless device integrated into my wired LAN network (three computers).
In attempting to set up a GUEST connection, I pulled up Cisco Connect which I originally used to set up my network. The BB Geek didn't use a key and followed a different procedure unknown to me.
As I face the Cisco Connect screen now, it tells me "Can't access your router settings. The router password has been changed." Then in the "Router password" block, it gives the original password I assigned.
I had written another name I thought was associated with the changes made by the BB Geek so I copied the password there now, inserted the new PW, and clicked Next. I was then asked if I wanted to proceed with the change ... but the change it was proposing was the exact PW I just copied. Confused, I cancelled the operation.
I am using a E3000 router with a Draytek V120 modem and I need to get some line stats for my ISP to sort out a problem however I cant see how to get stats out of the E3000, simple but having been through all the settings in the web interface I cant find it.

As soon as the reboot completes all is right with the world for about another week. I want to setup a hardwired connection between my Linksys E3000 router and a DIRECTV DVR. I have the most recent firmware on my router. I have checked the ethernet cable and it is good. The lights on the ethernet port on the DVR light up when I have the DRV and router connecter. The DVR gives me an error message when I try to connect. Some other posts have suggest setting a static IP on the DIRECTV DVR using the following settings:
IP Address : 192.168.1.10
Subnet Mask : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway : 192.168.1.1
DNS : 192.168.1.1
I tried this and still get an error message so I am going to call DIRECTV. Before I do call I would like to know if these are the correct settings for a Static IP?
