Cisco Wireless :: WAP200 OID Values To Query For Number Of Stations Associated

Oct 30, 2011

I'm looking at a stack of WAP200 and WAP4410N APs.  I'd like to use Cacti to track number of associations on each AP.What's the OID I should be querying? Are there multiple OIDs that would correspond to the multiple SSIDs?  I'm running 2 SSIDs on all of them, and it would be extra nice to be able to track number of stations on each SSID, though the total number would also be acceptable as well.

Cisco Switches :: Asa 5520 / What Are Optimal Values For Mac And Arp Timeout Values

Jan 8, 2013

What are the best values for "mac address-table aging-time" and "arp timeout" by following scenarios?:- single sg300-10 as layer3-switch with a maximum of 10 local (direct connected) hosts - and a 3750x-stack with 100 local hosts + hsrp with a other stack of the same sort or for asa 5520 as internet gateway for 500 clients?I use at the moment a mac aging-time from 300 seconds and a arp timeout from 3600 seconds.

Cisco Firewall :: 871 - Cannot Ping Or RDP Remote Stations Once Connected

Jun 6, 2011

I've setup a CISCO 871 which receives DHCP IP address on WAN interface Fa4 and DHCP-assigned static IP Address on virtual-ppp1.  The static address is used for site-to-site VPN's, while I've planned the DHCP address for standard web access and CISCO VPN Client dial-out.

Internally, I've created 2 VLAN's, one for standard PC's with access to the remote sites via site-to-site and cisco client, and the other for a 'secured' area with only HTTP/S allowed out. [code]

Clients in the PCLAN should also be allowed to dial-out using CISCO VPN client to remote sites via the OUTSIDE interface.  This is partially working because the client does log into a remote site, however I cannot ping or rdp remote stations once connected."ip inspect log drop-packets" does not reveal dropped packets when trying to ping or rdp. [code]

Cisco Firewall :: ASA5510 Need To Unblock Http Radio Stations

Apr 1, 2011

I have an ASA5510 with CSC Module which is inspecting HTTP traffic. We need to be able to use http radio stations. Some radio stations work but some don't work. I excluded my computer ip address from the CSC filtering but i am still unable use certain radio stations. I thought since my computer is excluded from the CSC filtering and some radio stations don't work that it must be the firewall that is blocking the traffic. I removed the rtsp inspection and it won't work.

Cisco Wireless :: WAP200 And Entry For Primary Dns Cannot Be 0 And 255

Nov 16, 2011

I have a wap200 with a static ipaddress e.g. 192.168.249.205/24 (it is for management and is in vlan 1). Firmware of the wap is 2.0.4.0. No gw and no dns. (they are not necessary) I export the config . I have a second wap200 and import the config.bin to the new wap. ThenI like to change the static address and the name of the new wap, but - and this is the problem - it asks me to fill out the dns (the address for primary dns cannot be 0 and 255), but I absolutely don't want that because there is no dns or gw (management only). And if I fill it out I cannot go the the internet with the wap.

So I also have some other wap200 where I could import the config.bin and change the static ip without giving a dns (firmware 2.0.1.0). can I go back to a previous firmware (Europe) and where can I find it. Looked for it, but seeing only the last one 2.0.4.0 etsi.Or is there another method to skip the dns with a static ipaddress?

Now, with all the unified communications, voice, video and data are in the same device, and I try to give priority to voice and some applications, but in the WLC I can not find the way to mark all that kind of packets.

Is it possible to do that? like in a LAN making the marking as voice, signaling and any kind of application? as I marked in all the LAN.

Cisco Wireless :: Setup WAP200 As A Repeater?

Oct 31, 2010

I have a Cisco WAP200 Wireless-G Access Point - PoE/Rangebooster with the latest firmware 2.0.2.4-ETSI?I’m trying to set it up as a repeater, repeating the wireless signal from a Cisco 877W.I have configured the WAP200 with the same SSID, WPA key, and channel as the 877W.

I have changed the WAP200’s AP Mode setting to Repeater, and picked up the 877W’s MAC Address. The WAP200 is broadcasting and I can connect to the wireless network, but I don’t get DHCP. It’s almost like it’s still in Access Point mode.

Cisco Wireless :: Setting Up WAP200 As Repeater?

Oct 12, 2010

I'm trying to setup a WAP200 as a wireless repeater and I am having some problems. The SSID I am trying to bridge is coming from a WRV210.

I on both devices I have the SSID, security, and channel set the same. The WAP200 is set to Repeater mode and I did a site survey to find the WRV210. The WRV210 is set to to allow the WAP200 repeat its signa using auto select, manual with site survey and manual actually entering the MAC address by hand.

Nothing seems to work. I can see the wireless next work but when i connect to the repeater I never get an IP address.

Cisco Wireless :: WLC 2106 - 802.11 MAC Counters High Values

Oct 17, 2011

I have a WLC 2106 with 3 APs.  Everything works and users can connect, but the throughput seem to be lower than it should (it is around 8Mbps and should be around 30-50Mbps).  And all speed and duplex has been accounted for.

I am trying to understand the stats that I see for the 802.11 MAC counters I under the Wireless APs.on the controller.

That screenshot is attached.  I see high numbers for the following areas:

- Tx Failed Count
- RTS Failure Count
- FCS Error Count

what these mean and what could cause this?  Maybe these are normal and not a concern.

Cisco Wireless :: WAP200 Multiple SSID With Trunk

Aug 11, 2011

I have two WAP200's code level version 2.0.4.0 connected to two  SFE2000 24port, one switch per building. I have 3 vlans that I want to  bridge between those two switches. I know the trunks on the switch are  setup correctly because I can connect them directly and test all vlans.

I  am able to get the untagged Vlan 1 to work fine with the bridge, but I  have issues with the tagged Vlans 2 and 3. I have checked that I have  the correct SSID tied to the correct Vlan number. I cause the whole  network to lock up when I try to add the other SSID MAC addresses to the  AP Mode -> AP Mode -> Wireless Bridge -> "Remote Wireless  Bridge's MAC Addresses:" section. The wireless lights and ethernet  lights go solid.

Should I be adding the additional MACs there?Does the WAP200 even support multiple VLAN/SSID?

Cisco Wireless :: WAP200 Not Forwarding DHCP Requests Onto Server

Feb 15, 2012

I have a Linksys WAP200 Wireless-G Access Point problem. It is SW version 2.0.4.0.  I have it configured for a small network and the problem seems to be that it is not forwarding DHCP requests onto my DHCP server.   I know that it is not a SSID or Key issue as when I give my devices static IP addresses, they communicate fine within my system.   The only issue seems to be when the devices make DHCP client requests.   I also know that the problem is not my DHCP server as it has the device's IP / mac addresses in its configuration file and other wired devices are able to communicate with it to get their IP address through DHCP.

I have seen that there was talk in some blogs about WAP200 no forwarding DHCP requests and I was hoping that updating the device to the latest release would have resolved the problems.

Cisco Wireless :: WAP200 Updating Firmware Without Connecting It To Network

Aug 2, 2012

I was brought a WAP200 that was giving a client some issues. I've been told the first thing to try is to update/reinstall the firmware. I have the newest firmware file downloaded and saved, and I have the WAP200 plugged in and sitting on my desk.

I reset the access point and connected it directly to my computer with a patch cable, then entered the default IP address (192.168.1.245) to attempt to access the device. No go. Is that supposed to work and something is wrong with it? All I want to do is update the firmware, because if the device has been reset and the firmware reinstalled and it's still not working, then we'll just deem it defective and have it replaced.

Cisco Wireless :: SF302-08P Switch / 8 WAP200 - Massive Disconnection?

Feb 19, 2012

For a customer of mine I've installed 8 WAP 200 access points with an SF302 switch. The Access point are powered with POE. All seems to function properly: the clients are simple Android device and the connection appears solid.. We've a good roaming between access points (not seamless of course but is ok) and no particalur problems, also because the network is used to drive very LOW data (no internet): the clients opens a tcp connection to the server and sends only a keep alive packets over this connection.. Then sometime the server send a very small amount of data (some byte) to activate the display of the device and show a question.. the clients reply with some other byte of data and so on.. During an event of 3/4 hour we can do this 12/14 times, so the network load is nearly 0....

Last night the system suddenly stopped working: ALL clients (300) lost connection from their access points at the same time! How this can happens? The only reason that I can imagine is a power loss on the switch...
