Recently bring up a new Router connected to ISP A and the Netflow collector/server is located in different location and they are connected to ISP B. I have enabled snmp and netflow config on my router(2911) but not receiving the netflow packets are not reaching the server for due to some strange reason whereas other packets like ICMP for snmp are reaching the netflow collector. Finally,I created GRE tunnel between the two locations routers and set the route for the netflow collector/server to the tunnel other end IP. In this way the netflow traffic are reaching successfully to the server.
I've configured N7K to export layer 2 flows. Using 2 different flow collectors (open source and commercial), gaps/drops in the reported traffic are observed on a periodic basis.Problem doesn't seems to be with the exporters, hence I wondering if netflow configuration on N7K can be tweaked to address this symptom. Using the 'show exporter' command, no errors/drops are observed. [code]
I'm trying to gather netflow data over an IPSEC VPN and through my research I've learned that I need to configure Flexible Netflow. However, I have a Cisco 2801 router with the latest ROMMON and IOS and the Flexible Netflow options aren't available.
I need to know if I can pull Netflow style data (Top Talkers, Top Sessions, etc) from ASA 5505s? We are looking at buying some but I need to be able to export this kind of data to my managment station which is also a collector. I have read on this forum that 8.2 and above should support Netflow but I have read conflicting information.
Cisco 2951 w/ HWIC-4ESW IOS 15.0(1)M5 #sh ip flow int Vlan533 ip flow ingress ip flow egress #
The SVI sends the flow data just fine, however I also continue to receive flow data from most other interfaces.
I have attached a screenshot of one of our netflow collectors indicating that many of the interfaces are sending flow data even though not configured to do so. We have two different netflow collectors, from different vendors and both confirm the same interfaces sending flow data.
Normally I wouldn't care and ignore it, however one of them uses a license limit by interface and is a bit problematic.
I've got an issue with SNMP and netflow tools. They are displaying different data for the same (sub)interfaces.I've got metroethernet link which connects root A (Cisco 7606, 12.2(18)SXF8) and root B (Cisco 2811, 12.3(11)TS). MPLS is configured on the link (behind root B there is no more MPLS). I'm attaching root configurations (I've ommited parts of config).Interfaces are:
Root A - gi2/6.2144 Root B - fa0/1
I've configured SNMP and netflow on both devices. I'm using two SNMP tools (CA Spectrum and eHealth) and two netflow tools (CA NetQoS Reporter Analyzer and Fluke Networks NetFlow Tracker) to collect the data. SNMP tools show the same info for defined (sub)interface.Netflow tools also show the same info for defined (sub)interface. I'm attaching reports from one SNMP tool and one netflow tool for the same time period.
1. Looking at SNMP tool, it can be seen quite amount of that data in both in and out direction. 2. Looking at netflow tool, it can be seen quite amount of that data in out direction, while in direction shows small amount of data.
I'm aware that Cisco has difficulties with SNMP counters on subinterfaces. I'm also aware that MPLS netflow has its own difficulties.Root B netflow configuration is quite simple as it has just 2 interfaces to configure netflow on (Fa0/0 and Fa0/1). So I would guess SNMP and netflow data should match, but they don't. When you look at SNMP tool reports for roots A and B, it can be seen that traffic volume is practically mirrored.
I am trying to connect a Control network that can not have access to the Internet, or any other network for that matter, to my Admin network so that I can retrieve trend data about the plant that goes into a database. Right now the process is print information, hand jam into excel spreadsheet, print again, and hand jam into another excel spreadsheet on the other network. Reports are printed automatically once a day, but would like a simplified way of getting data from one network to the other without having to re-enter data several times. Current policies stipulate no USB drives connected to Control systems. Even if we could loosen that, personnel needed to transfer data is not available and going to each individual machine would take more time than current system. Now that background is laid, I have two 2911 ISR routers with EIGRP configured, each with a 4 port EHWIC card. The 3 L3 ports on the router are setup as follows: interface G0/1 to the internet, interface G0/2 to a wireless back haul, and interface G0/0 for IT network. I then have 3 VLANs setup on the EHWICs for our Admin network. We will move the IT network to a VLAN on the remaining EHWIC port and connect the two 2911's through the G0/0 interface. I am going to have one computer on my Administration network dedicated to receiving the information and have a program that will take that data and import it to a database. I need to allow only that computer to receive traffic from the Control network and I need no traffic to flow back into the Control network. In other words I will transmit data from the control network to the admin computer using one protocol (TFTP more than likely) and block any other traffic coming out of and going into the Control network.
We have a 5508 WLC with WCS and are using 1131AG WAPs. How to determine if there is interference or noise at a remote location without going there with a spectrum analyzer?
I'm new to LMS recently, and my customer add 8 C2928 switches. However, LMS can't get these equipment's configuration. I checked the equipment's snmp、telnet 、enable password setting , they all are the same as the lms credential setting(except one, which snmp don't be set) and make sure that they all can comunicate with lms server . I have set the longer time and more counters for timeout. My lms is 4.0.1 and the version can support c2928. I have a try to removal these devices and add them manually again, lms still can't get the configuration. LMS suggeststhat we can check the dcmaservice.log for detail, but i couldn't understand it.
Using LMS 3.1 in win 2003 SP2. Recently experiencing a problem, not able to fetch/push config for the n/w devices. I deleted and re added the device to lms and found able to perform the task. There was no connectvity issue during the problem.
Any major difrrence between Netflow v/s Netflow-Lite?
I am trying to understand if Cisco 4948E can do the same job as Cisco 4500E or not and difference between Netflow v/s Netflow-Lite will work for me to select correct product.
How NetFlow works when NAT is enabled in the Cisco Router? ...the translation of IP addresses is done before or after save the packets in the flow caches?
I have an interface e0/4 that is 172.1.1.1 on router one (network one) which links to another router (onnetwork two) which has an interface of e0/4 172.1.1.2 which allows two networks to communicate. Network one is 192.168.0.0 /24 and network two is 10.255.255.0 /24.
How do i configure netflow to monitor the traffic going through these interfaces?
I have problems in exporting translations of NAT from my router through NetFlow v9 ASR1006, to my server nfdump, any opensource or licensed software (collector) that I recommend.
ip nat log translations flow-export v9 udp destination 10.1.1.15 1181
I have customer that we have configured netflow on the 2821 router that their traffic is on. Currently the company they have contracted with for the analysis is seeing data duplication. Below is the configuration for the interface and the router
Cisco 2821;
interface GigabitEthernet0/0 description TVC-FI-Ethernet-Fiber-Ethernet link ip address 216.255.164.33 255.255.255.248 secondary ip address 192.168.5.1 255.255.255.0 secondary ip address 216.255.166.129 255.255.255.128 secondary
I am having one router CISCO2911/K9 (Cisco 2911 w/3 GE,4 EHWIC,2 DSP,1 SM,256MB CF,512MB DRAM,IPB). But now my management asking me to upgrade this router as CISCO2911-SEC/K9.
I have a router cisco 3825, it is configured with netflow for monitoring traffic with WhatsUpGold, but I can't monitor this router I don't know what is the problem.Device: Router Cisco 3825 IOS: C3825-ADVENTERPRISEK9-M 12.4. [code]
I have a switch4500 12.2 and a router 2801 IOS 15.1 and this device work well with the WhatsUp but these devices have the same configuration.I see diferents ouputs when I use show ip flow export, this output is for a router that work well with WhatsUp. [code]
I need a interface v.35 on 2911 router, but it does not have WIC slot, it has EHWIC. Could some one told me if there are a card with V.35 interface that I can install in this model of router?
I have a 2911 router that I am trying to use a h.323 gateway for faxing purposes.Right now I can 4 digit dial and 10 digit the number and my analog phone answers, but when I try to place a call I get a fast busy immediately (as soon as I pick up the receiver)
I want to connect a RPS2300 to a Cisco 2911 router to provide power backup.I have two questions ,Easy one : if the 2911 PSU (internal Power Supply Unit) fails, how to confirm the RPS2300 provides power to the 2911 with no reboot of the 2911 ?,Tricky one : After we replace the broken PSU, will the 2911 reboot or not as power revert from RPS2300 to internal PSU ?
We can't seem to SSH from the outside network into our router. Our router config looks straight forward enough.

Recently they bought a new Cisco 2911 router and told me that they want it connected to an outside WAN connection that they hadn't used in a while so they could create a little network on the side. They want to just plug the server into the router and go. Unfortunately, I am sort of clueless about how to set up the config for it.
There are 3 GE ports, with the line from the outside coming in on GE0/0. I've already activated the interface and it is up, but that's where I get stuck.
WAN Interface gig0/0 interface ip add 62.x.x.x 255.255.255.252 duplex full speed auto LAN interface gig0/1 ip add 10.x.x.x 255.255.255.0 duplex full speed 100 ( i am keeping the speed 100 because it is connected in switch port f0/48,made the switch port as speed 100)
but after some time my connection to the internet goes off and i just shut and no shut the WAN interface and it comes back.
i have problem with a router 2900 with a card switch 16 ports (sm-es2-16p) that does not doing the intervlan routing. i have attached 2 show tech one of the router and one of the card switch 16 ports (sm-es2-16p). I connected physically the switch card to a router interface and it seem to be working because i can do a ping from my pc ( in user vlan 26) to my gateway on the router (172.20.26.1) but i can not do ping to the others vlan like (172.10.26.1) or others. .. i want to know what is happening and if it there is a way to do the trunk conectivity between the switch card and the router internally without a phyisical connection.
i am trying to upgrade the firmware in my C2960 switch to 15(1) SE2, and i get the error: Failed to execute the command archive download -sw /overwrite /http iosFile.
I enable the IPS on the 2911 router . I am using the Basic IPS signatures that are inbulid on the routers . But sill it showing , that no signature is active .
ip ips signature-category category all retired true ip ips signature-category category ios_ips basic retired false
Suppose a broadcasted IP packet reaches one of the integrated RJ-45 ports on a 2911 ISR G2, will it be possible to configure the router so that the other integrated RJ-45 ports, ESM/EHWIC modules installed on the router, as well as the MGF also recieve the packet? Technically, the router should act similar to a switch with the SRE behaving similar to a seperate machine connected via the MGF and other external machine connected to the ports of the router to recieve the broadcasted packet.
Also, if SNMP traps were generated from the router,Will it be possible to send the traps from the router via the MGF to the SRE installed on the router?
We have configured new 2911 router with HWIC-2T with it.However we are seeing serial interfaces up, but can hardly ping other end. Again we are seeing a lot of CRC errors on serial interface.
But if we connected same cable, with other old router 2811, it works fine. Confiuration is same on both the routers. [code]
We are having 3 internet connections coming in to one of our customer's main offices for redundancy and etc. I would like to replace the 3 routers with a one for easier support and management. One of the connections is an ADSL and the other 2 are leased lines so they terminate with an RJ45 connection.
Would something like a Cisco 2911 + HWIC ADSL card be sufficient enough or would you recommend something else?
