simple question regarding WAN transit uplinks on a 6509E ad BGP. The Hardware configuration is:
Cisco 6509-E Chassis with enhanced Fan
WS-SUP720-3BXL
WS-X6748-GE-TX
Dual power supply and 1 G flash for Engine
I'm currently using both 1 gig uplinks on the SUP for my two carrier transit uplinks (BGP). I would like to add a third carrier transit uplink into my BGP. Can I utilize the 6748 for access to the SUP720 routing to expand my transit carrier uplinks? Any thoughts on options without having to go to a 10gig SUP720?
I'm looking at the WS-C2960S-48TD-L and have a question about the uplink ports. Is it possible to mix 10G on one uplink and 1G on the other? The datasheet says 2x10G SFP+, 2x1G SFP so I am thinking mixing is not possible.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have the following scenario: Pair of Cisco 887VA routers acting as Layer 3 for Voice/Data VLANs with a pair of 2960 LAN Base switches acting as Cores and possibly then 2960 LAN Lites hanging off them as access switches. Our Service Provider has provided an example config where the class-maps match based on dscp values for the QOS policy applied to the DSL circuits. We can obviously trust the attached phones but I want to be able to mark data traffic on my core switches based on destination IP/port to allow application definition. My major question is can I have a service policy on my Layer 2 uplinks to the routers where the linked classes setting dscp vlaues are based on class-maps matching on the contents of IP access lists based while at the same time not remarking the EF marked packets from the phones?

I want to move this link to 2 10Gbps links without losing connectivity. So I want remove a 1G link and move it to 10G and then once that's up move the other 1G link to 10G hopefully without losing connectivity. So the question is, can I have a 1G and 10G link between the Nexus and 3750s in the same virtual port channel without causing problems?
View 3 Replies View RelatedWe are looking for some latency in our net and I am trying to check if our STP implementations is running correctly - we have a simple flat network here and no blocked ports here - just two nx 5010 which are interconnected with two uplinks.A remote site - mirrored setup - with 2 10G dark fiber connections - one for each nx5010 - is connection a DR site. I have split the two sites in two stp domains by enabling bpdu-filter on the vpc between the two sites.
I have been running wireshark on the local segment for some time and see the STP RST ROOT announcement every 2. seconds - this is probably normal ? I was looking for some alternate root negotiation packets which would cause the mac tables to be flushed.

When I go to create the ports via Port Management - Link Aggregation - LAG Management - LAG1 - Edit and move ports 5,6,13,14 over as LAG Members - Click apply I get Port gi5 belongs to a VLAN. If I try to add them individually I get the same error, i.e. port gi6 belongs to a VLAN, port gi13 belongs to a VLAN, etc..

i need to design a site-to-site VPN and VPN for remote users. I have attach a drawing, need to know if this is good setup. Mostly my concern is security. Im using ASA5520 for edge firewall and Linux firewalls are for additional security.I have to create 5 site-to-site VPN using IPSEC and 5 remote VPN clients. Site-to-site VPN are for trusted Office and remote VPN clients are only for our staff use.
From the diagram ASA5520 is configured as followed
outside interface is set to security 0 and connected to boder router to internet, inside interface is set to security 100 which is connected to a linux firewall which then goes to our internal lan.DMZ interface is set to security 50 which is connected to DMZ segment ,I decided to use the 4th interface for all VPNs which is set to security 100, and for this 4th interface i have created two sub interfaces vlan 400 (for site-tosite VPN) and vlan 500 (for remote access VPN). I did this because i have to use two separate linux firewall box. Linux firewall box for Site to Site VPN is configured with NAT but Linux firewall box for remote access VPN users are configured without NAT. I also want to know do i need to create a CA server or can i use pre-shared key with XAuth for remote access VPN users?
