We currently run dual ASA 5510's in A/S config on our main campus. We would like to create a VPN tunnel to a branch campus. Trying to decide between a 5505/5510/5512x, We would like to extend many of the capabilities of our network to the branch campus which will be 20-50 users on a 50mb/10mb internet connection.

Several different VLANs for wireless guest, student traffic, staff traffic, voip traffic, etc. Which device would be best and should we get the security plus license with it?
I have two cisco ASA 5505 devices and two cisco switches plugged to ASAs in each office. I need to create a VPN tunnel between two offices.
-Network behind the ASA1 in office1 is 192.168.1.0/24 with DHCP server – 192.168.1.10
-Networks behind the ASA2 in office2 are 192.168.5.0/25; 192.168.5.128/26 and 192.168.5.192/26
All computers in office2 need to get IPs from DHCP server 192.168.1.10. I have switch in office2 with 3 VLANS and I can assign computers from different subnets to different VLANs.How can I archive this goal? Should I assign 3 IPs for ASA2 inside interface (192.168.5.1, ...5.129, ...5.193) as a default gateways for each subnet? Should I put dhcp helper address 192.168.1.10 on the switch for each VLAN?
I'm currently setting up two VPN 3000 Concentrators at two different sites to create a IPsec LAN-to-LAN Tunnel. I have gone through all the basic configuration guides on the CISCO site, but a LAN-to-LAN session is never created. I have enabled the logs on the Concentrator and it displays no errors at all - it appears the Concentrator is not even trying to establish a IPsec LAN-to-LAN Tunnel. After running through the standard setup provided by CISCO, is there anything I need to do to make the Concentrator try to create a Tunnel, or should this be automatic once all settings are in place?

Connect to wireless network > connect router to computer via ethernet cable > Viola, hotspot!
However, in Win7 is this possible? It sees the router as "unidentified public network" and I can't change it. Any registry setting I can change to set the default network connection to "home"?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a client who would like to create a two VPN tunnels from one cisco 2901 router. One to the HQ and one to the DR. Is this possible?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have got a cisco 1841 router. I am able to create different vlan in the cisco router and I have got only 2 ports, fa0/0 and fa0/1. Now, I need to create different network in the same router at least four networks. FA0/0 is used for external networks. Now I want to create 4 vlan in this router. Namely, 10. 10. 10.1, 10.10.11.1, 10.10.12.1 and 10.10.13.1. The FA0/1 is connected to a 48 port normal switch. In the switch I am going to connect the cable of all the 10. 10. networks. Is this possible to access creating four vlan and routing all of them to the external networks with the fa0/1 port only. Is dot1q possible with only the router and a normal switch or is there any other possibility for this case.

(Without buying a wireless router/modem/card) I mean, is there a tweak or program I can download to configure my desktop running on Windows 7 to create wi-fi? The reason why I'm interested in this it's because, for Bluetooth, it's possible. Just wondering if they have the same nature with WiFi (In terms of configuration and tweaks)^,

View 8 Replies View RelatedI need to create multiple ip-sec vpn tunnels on A Cisco 837 ADSL Router. I am able to create one tunnel but the second connection is asking for the outside interface which is atm and already taken by the first tunnel. How can i create more tunnels?
Secondly, after creating the first tunnel i am able to access the remote lan network but when i tried tracert "remote lan ip of a pc" from my pc i got "request timed out" after passing my 837 but succeeded to reach the target. Does tracert needs something to be opened in the router?
I have an ASR 1002. Behind that and across another small MAN network (considered inside) I have an ASA. On the remote end, I have a simple 2811.
I need to create a vpn peer from the remote router to both the ASR (to hand off traffic there) and also a peer at the ASA (to encrypto across the MAN). The ASR1002 has the serial connection (DS3) to our MPLS cloud in which the remote is on the opposite side of.
So basically, I've created a single isakmp policy with two crypto map's by the same name but set to different peers and placed on the remote router then applied it to the serial interface. This works fine. Now i throw in the ASA which is behind the ASR. However, the connection still comes through that ASR to get to the ASA.After setting it up, it works as long as I don't have the crypto map applied to the ASR. If i apply the crypto map to the so interface of the ASR, my asa vpn connection stops working. It almost seems as if the crypto map on the ASR is grabbing my enrypted traffic destined for xx.xxx.24.14 and trying to do something with it. [code]
Why can't i peer from my remote router to both the ASA and the ASR on the opposite end of the serial link?
I recently bought a new computer and router, and want to hook up the router. I read that you can have two routers by connecting one to another with a really long cable, but how does that work? I don't know how and i don't want to mess up my current internet.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am trying to create a static route on the TP-Link TD-W8950ND router, however am a little confused about the interface I should use. The default gateway on the route is another router on the LAN. I have a choice to use interface pppoe (telstra), LAN/br01 (bridge) or no interface. I was assuming I didn't need to use any interface as this is not a bridge setup and is on the LAN, but when I select "no interface" it doesn't save the static route settings. Also, when I select LAN/br01, the routing saves but doesn't actually work (tracert shows not going through the right router).

I hit Create Share and it brings up the dialog box where I enter the display name. Share entire partition is checked already. I save settings and I see the box going to the form where you assign the Group roles, but then the box disappears and closes. All I see is the original Storage setting page with the Create Share button still there.I tried this on Win 7 using both IE8 and Chrome browsers.

I would like to connect the WRT54GL to the physical network and have it create a separate wifi network (WIFI2), so my laptop will connect to WIFI2, get passed to the LAN and on to the Internet. Cant make this work - tried setting up the WRT for DHCP server, DHCP pass through (to the comtrend), and the best I can do is get connected to WIFI2 and have access to the LAN but not the Internet. Ultimately I want to put a high gain antenna on the WRT to make it reach another building about 400' away and do away with comtrends horrible WIFI, but I cant get to first base.
