D-link Dcs Network Camera :: Netgear Cgd24n - 942l Just Won't Connect To Wifi Network
Sep 2, 2012I seem to be struggling to connect more than 4 cameras to my (ISP-supplied) modem/router by Netgear CGD24N via WPS. I'm on my 5th camera now (already have 3x 930L and 1x 942L) but the newest 942L just won't connect to the network at the moment and there's definitely no faults here as I swapped cameras today at the local retailer (and got an A3 942L!).I've even tried connecting the camera to my wireless extender (Netgear WN3000RP) but no luck there.
So far it has only worked twice for short periods of time (enough for me to configure the cameras) but since then I can't actually get it working. I've got a couple of spare wireless routers lying around too and should be receiving a DIR-600 soon (from the Netgear promotion in Australia) which could be useful?

The type of signal that I get from my ISP is analogue for phone, TV and intenet.This modem has an input for the Internet connection (dynamic IP address) and provides the IP addresses and connection for the other devices connected to it (via WiFi or cable), such as the TV over IP box, laptops, iPads and smart phonesI would like to implement content filtering on my WiFi network in order to avoid access to some websites, and my modem/router doesnt provide this feature (or at least I cant find it with my ISPs configuration) thought about using OpenDNS, but since I have a dynamic IP address and I cant install an updater on all the devices, then this solution didn work.
The next idea I have is getting a physical Firewall.Question: I am wondering if I can just connect the Intenet cable (that comes from the splitter between phone and Internet) to the Firewall, then I connect a RJ-45 cable from the firewall to my existing modem/router and should that be all (besides configuring content filtering on the firewall)?What should I take into account regarding the IP addresses? Should I enable the DHCP server in the firewall (I assume that most come with one), and disable the DHCP server in the modem?

Apr 23, 2011I am unable to get my laptop to connect to the internet when my wifi network has any type of security option or authentication selected. i want to password protect my network and it shows that the network name and passphrase i selected are correct on the router setup page. I can connect to wifi just fine when there is no authentication set on the network, but when I change it to WPA2 or WEP or any type of security on the router setup page, my laptop is able to find the network and connect with local only access. it gives me the option to reset the network adapter or generate a new ip address, but the problem still persists, and the connection only works when there is no password. is it my laptop or the router that is the problem. it has worked previously with a different router with password security.

Nov 6, 2011We had our network set up using a Cisco wrt310n router and it was working greatThen suddenly we started having connection issues with anything wireless. There are 2 PS3's, 2 laptops, and 1 iPhone, 2 desktops but they are always plugged in and never skip a beat. When plugged in(where applicable) everything works just fine. So I changed the router to a D-Link wbr-2310. Network worked for a few days, but the wireless connection was a bit slow. Then it suddenly dropped wi-fi alltogether.
I updated drivers, updated firmware. And then the D-link stopped working even when wired, but thats a story for another time. So I plugged the Cisco back in, network up again. Worked for a few days and now I cannot connect wirelessly. I have my laptop in the same room as the router, it lists signal strength at full but says "did not receive any response from wireless router" and gives me a link to trouble shoot low signal... I have tried a lot of different tricks and settings and nothing has worked at all.
I have also noticed there are a lot of wireless networks in my area, I live in a townhouse complex. Each unit is seperated by a double garage, and backyard space. Last night I was detecting 11 networks. I tried using a different channel but no results.This isnt just an issue with one device, its every device I try and connect wirelessly, and with different routers.

I have a TP Link Wifi card installed in my pc.. i need to access the server using an ip through the ethernet cable. And i access the internet via the wifi device installed and running in my pc. the problem now here is that i cannot access both of the simultaneously. If i connect back the ethernet cable the browser does not browse or the internet does not work.. and i can access my server software.. as i unplug the ethernet cable my wifi card installed starts working all good and i can use the internet.. i have tried a little of soultions but have not been successfull enough to use both the connections simultaneously..

Aug 20, 2011I have the E3000 router. I set it up about a month ago and had my laptop and iphones and ipads all hooked up and working great. About two weeks ago, all of my devices are having problems connecting to the network and if they do connect, it is unstable (slow speeds or constantly dropping from the network). I know it is not the internet due to the fact that my LAN connection (hardwired) runs great. I am pulling my hair out trying to figure out why. I have restored to factory defauls and started over setting it up with no change in performance. I have the latest drivers on the router and the laptop. I thought maybe it was vista and my laptop or network card, but the fact that I cannot get my phones or ipads to connect with good performance I am starting to think it is something to do with the router. Also, just for more info, I am using Chater cable internet. I am running vista 64x on the laptop.

Oct 14, 2012I've had this setup for years now, custom ssid and password on my router, altho yesterday my pc said i was connected to "Slayer 2" (my ssid is Slayer) i found it weird so i went to wifi settings and i deleted all the ssids in an attempt to re-connect to "Slayer" thing is now, even tho my pc detects my ssid, when i try to connect to it, it says password is wrong. this is very weird cuz i can connect to it on my portable and tablet.My pc stills connects to other ssids with np, so i think the prob is not my network adapter.I've tried to change the ssid, didnt work.tried to change the password and didnt work either.googled a bit and did the winsock reset commands, didnt work either.currently posting this from my pc which has now an ethernet cable coming from the router.
