We had our network set up using a Cisco wrt310n router and it was working greatThen suddenly we started having connection issues with anything wireless. There are 2 PS3's, 2 laptops, and 1 iPhone, 2 desktops but they are always plugged in and never skip a beat. When plugged in(where applicable) everything works just fine. So I changed the router to a D-Link wbr-2310. Network worked for a few days, but the wireless connection was a bit slow. Then it suddenly dropped wi-fi alltogether.
I updated drivers, updated firmware. And then the D-link stopped working even when wired, but thats a story for another time. So I plugged the Cisco back in, network up again. Worked for a few days and now I cannot connect wirelessly. I have my laptop in the same room as the router, it lists signal strength at full but says "did not receive any response from wireless router" and gives me a link to trouble shoot low signal... I have tried a lot of different tricks and settings and nothing has worked at all.
I have also noticed there are a lot of wireless networks in my area, I live in a townhouse complex. Each unit is seperated by a double garage, and backyard space. Last night I was detecting 11 networks. I tried using a different channel but no results.This isnt just an issue with one device, its every device I try and connect wirelessly, and with different routers.
I have already seen many threads with the same problem but none of the solutions worked for me.I am unable to connect to my router (Beetel 450TC1) via wireless network. Even if I enter an incorrect security key, no authentication error is displayed. The wired connection works flawlessly and I can access router admin panel through wired connection. Things I have tried:
1) Called up the ISP customer care.They upgraded the router firmware, did a hard reset and did all settings remotely. This did not fix the problem and the executive reported that I have a faulty hardware. I think my hardware is fine because the same problem exists with other smartphone devices and I can connect to college WiFi easily.
2) Changed wireless security authentication and SSID.
3) Tried a manual hard reset and firmware downgrade (same problem persists with downgraded firmware) and again upgrade.
4) Tried different operating systems (Windows 8, Windows 7, Ubuntu 12.04). Same problem exists with each of them.
I have Virgin Media XXL broadband in the UK. I have Avast antivirus. Windows firewall is enabled and all security updates are up to date. I have a 50mbit virgin fiber optic broadband which is working fine on my flatmate's pc's. While making sure the internet wasn't being used my speedtest still returned around 1mbit with full signal strength. I have run speedtest on 3 pc's at the same time and 2 of them were over 30mbit while mine was still barely 1mbit. I am using an Edimax EW-7811Un nano usb adapter. From reviews I read that it should work great with Virgin. But for some reason it doesn't work well despite the full signal strength.
I just received a brand new HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC. When I try to connect to my internet, it connects, but attempts to "identify" the connection for about 10 seconds then it says "Undentified network" and fails to have internet access. 2 other computers are connected to this network with no problem. I've tried resetting everything, and many other "fixes" for this exact problem from other forums. I even uninstalled Norton, but nothing seems to work.I can connect directly to mine, and wirelessly with my neighbors, so I know the network card is okay.Here is my information when I type ipconfig /all into cmd.

Just got an E2500 and installed it with no problems and it was working correctly for 1-2 days. This evening the signal strength of my SSID dropped to LOW and a new SSID now shows up with full signal strength. It s not an SSID from any of my neighbors and from checking several forums it appears this is known problem.
I just bought a new router and i'm not able to access the internet on one of my laptops even though on the laptop it shows that its connected with full bars, it doesnt have this problem with the other routers i use. Also all my other computers are able to access the internet on this new router.
My laptop is reading a full WiFi signal from my router. I am currently connected to the router via Ethernet on the same laptop. I've been reading tons of old threads to troubleshoot this. I'm at a loss. I have used this current networking hardware for more than a year without any problems. I do have a pretty old router but my iPod connects to the WiFi no problem at the moment. Here's what I've tried so far:

I had a small issue wherein my pc would lose ALL network connection to my pc, but the network icon showed that i had full signal, no issues. as long as i sign in on skype before the internet drops, it will stay on after it drops and i can still chat and everything, and to fix, i had to restart my pc. well, it had gotten better.And now its back, and WAY worse then before. skype doesnt have time to sign in upon bootup, and wont connect. steam wont connect, NOTHING will conect, but i still show full signal and no yellow mark or anything! and no, i am not able to reinstall windows. I am going to try (soon, i am not able to just yet) direct ethernet to my router. all other PCs in the house are working perfectly, even this one that is slow as crap because it has windows 7 and is designed for windows XP.
I have computers scattered across our home, and in many areas it is not feasible to run ethernet cable. At one location (less than 30 feet away) but through multiple walls, I can barely connect to any POS (I have two). I added a stand alone antenna extension with long antennas on both the router and the WiFi card on the PC, however, this made zero improvement.What should I be looking to purchase to increase the signal strength? I've already tried different routers.

My laptop refuses to access the internet though the WiFi signal is strong (my Android phone connects instantly). I am currently in a hotel so cannot mess with the router (as advised by Windows help!). I have a similar problem in one airport lounge but generally it's fine, and at home I have no problem at all. It will connect for a while but them loses it and it stays lost for ages.
The signal strength usually shows low or very low. I`ve been changing the channels through 1,6,11, but it doesn`t change the signal strength. My modem is a Netgear CGD24N v2. The computer operates ok but i`d like the signal strength to show better than low.
My enquiry is about a brand new Belkin N150 F6D4050ed that i bought last week.I had to buy it because my previous Wifi Dongle just stopped working all together, it was an excellent dongle, gave me full signal strength and never cut out.Then i bought the Belkin.. I installed the drivers, plugged it in, since then, i have had 2-3 bars constantly, mostly 2 bars, The router is only 8-10 Feet away from me in the next room which is seperated by a very thin wall, It cuts off all together if a body stands in front of it, such as my brother coming in to chat. I have tried to move it around the room with no joy, All laptops and other wireless devices in the house connect to the router fine (Including downstairs in the garden even),Im a gamer, so i need a stable strong connection and its impossible to stay in games with this dongle.
Is there any way that I can boost the WiFi signal on my laptop? It is a HP Pavilion dv7, originally had Windows Vista x64, but I wiped the HD and installed Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and went to the HP website to get ALL of the drivers that I needed for this specific laptop.
Even though I put high gain antennas on my routers which extended the range of good signal immensely, I wish to try to get even better signal strength also. When using manual configuration mode on the router, I have set the WiFi power level to 100% (default level). Is there a way to increase that level beyond 100% and "overdrive" the signal? I tried to input a number >100% and that was not accepted.
I know this is possible if I go to dd-wrt, and possibly with open-wrt, which I prefer not to do for various reasons, not the least of which is that I have both a Rev. A1 and a Rev. B1 router (Rev. A1 is not supposed to support dd-wrt). I also know that increasing the power will make the router run hotter. I am willing to risk it as I monitor the temperature regularly.
Has anyone ever tried to do this or, have the people who want this just gone to dd-wrt? From the dd-wrt forum it appears that the DIR-825 router in Rev. B1 is not very user friendly to dd-wrt. After 3 years the code is still flaky. I would prefer not to use it, if possible.
I use a Linksys WRT54GR router. I recently bought an iPad, and I generally use it in a room that is on the other side of the house and through many walls. When it works, it works nice. But recently, my signal has been weak, and is often dropped. Pages load slowly, or not at all after getting a could not connect to server or whatever message. However, this isnt a huge problem for my laptops when used in this room. I dont believe it is the iPad that is faulty because my iTouch also experiences difficulty sometimes. I need a way to increase the signal strength for a longer distance. I looked at a repeater, but im not quite sure what it is and how to set one up, or where to buy one.
I am using Dell Inspiron 1525, 2008 model with a 1395 WiFi Mini card. The signal strength I get is very low, whereas people in the same location get good strength with other laptops like Sony etc.Is there any way of improving the signal strength without disturbing the router/modem, like some software/ hardware changes in the Laptop. Dell havent answered yet.
I have a DIR-601 connected to cable modem. WiFi signal seems to drop randomly. I've been trawling through the logs and I see a lot of "UDHCPD Received a SIGUSR1" Is this related? what it means and how to stabilise the router?

I am facing a kind of weird problem!! My Sony Vaio was getting connected to my Home wifi network and I could access Internet without any problem. Its been few days now that I can't access Internet though it shows connected. It does connect with the Wifi without any issue and even show the full signal like before, but actually there's no internet access. No browsers (IE,Chrome,FF) load any webpage, no messengers work.
I have Asus EEPC Seashell/ 1015PEM netbook. The wi-fi connects only near/ so close to the wireless router with full signal. Just next room, blocked by a wall it disconnects, but full signal still exists. Is it anything to do with driver or hardware incompatibility- netbook has 802.11n adapter. Wireless router/DI624+ is 802.11g.
i have installed a belkin d wireless card on to a P.C it shows full single and picks up other networks in area but it will not let me connect i have 2 wired P.C's running and a wireless laptop all running fine.i have reset router with no luck uninstalled card and reinstalled used software that came with card and downloaded most recent driver's alos i have installed software that came from ISP(SKY). P.C is running XP ant ideas what i can try next. i have lso installed card on to another P.C and it worked OK
We have 4 remote locations, all these locations are connected to Head Office via Site to site VPN tunnels, i have one tunnel to each location form head office,

We are using these VPN tunnels for IP phones at remote locations, Every thing works fine except when some body want to make a call form any remote locations to another remote location e..g site 1 call site 2 there is no audio, to over come this problem we need to a fully mesh network, each location should be able to access each other or in other words we can say that i should be able to ping LAN IP of Site 1 form Site 2, so to get it working i need to create vpn tunnel form each location to each location, in that way we have to create 4 tunnels in each router, or we can have DMVPN, but due to mix of equipments we cant have DMVPN, because only cisco 851 supports DMVPN, not even cisco 861)
So my question to all experts is that there is any way i can do some thing in HQ, so that it can route traffic from one remote site to another site, or it can work as hub so that i dont have to create 4 vpn tunnels in each router, because of the cisco 851 and cisco 861, i can have only 5 VPN tunnels, if i will create 4 VPN tunnels in each router i will be ran out very soon,
I just got a new-to-me multifunction printer that's "network ready" (ie, has an ethernet cable port.) I also got myself an asus wl-520gu router. For now the router has the factory installed firmware on it, but i could put tomato or ddwrt on it. also in my house I have a linksys router already set up with a WEP encrypted wireless SSID which me and my 5 roommates share. I guess for the purpose of this post we can call that network "Kermit" and pretend it has password "ilovepiggy" This router sits on the second floor landing in our three story house. My printer and this asus is going to be in my room, which is on the first floor. I'd like to
a) get better signal strength/speed in my room
b) network my printer so that I and others can print to it / scan from it wirelessly over the network. Can I do both things? and what would that setup be like? Would it mean making the ASUS a wireless repeater? at what point in the process and how do I add the printer?
I seem to be struggling to connect more than 4 cameras to my (ISP-supplied) modem/router by Netgear CGD24N via WPS. I'm on my 5th camera now (already have 3x 930L and 1x 942L) but the newest 942L just won't connect to the network at the moment and there's definitely no faults here as I swapped cameras today at the local retailer (and got an A3 942L!).I've even tried connecting the camera to my wireless extender (Netgear WN3000RP) but no luck there.
So far it has only worked twice for short periods of time (enough for me to configure the cameras) but since then I can't actually get it working. I've got a couple of spare wireless routers lying around too and should be receiving a DIR-600 soon (from the Netgear promotion in Australia) which could be useful?

I bought a new wireless modem. It works perfectly on my PC but I can't connect to wireless with my laptop or my phone. I have the right configuration and the password is correct. The devices show full wireless bars but just can't connect.
I have an Acer Aspire M1100. When trying to download the lates wlan drivers from support.acer.com they can't be installed because they require at mos the XP version of Windows (I have windows 7).

I have an EA3500, I have 30 Mbps download when I connect my pc directly to the modem. When I add in the EA3500 router it drops to only 10 Mbps download on both wired and wireless devices.
I have a Sony Vaio SVE1512B1EW and have connected it to my wireless. Works absolutely fine. However recently whenever I turn on my laptop the Internet will work for 2 minutes and then not work, even though it says its connected at full bar signal. recently I have set up a wifi network in my house, but when I tried to connect to it via my Windows XP (SP2) pc, it continually comes up with 'Limited or no connectivity'. I have tried multiple things, such as changing the network authentication method, to no avail.
I just acquired a used E2100 from an auction, when I plug it in I see an "Unnamed Network" with full bars in wireless, but can't connect since I don't know the ssid/password.When connecting with cable, with ipconfig I get a 10.10.10.108 ip, the gateway is at 10.10.10.99. However, when I try connnecting to my network the first thing it does is start connecting... it dosnt ask for the password. After attempting to connect, nothing happens. So, I set up my own network, type in the SSID and type in the password and its confirmation. It still wont connect I tried re-installing and repairing and nothing will happen..So I test it on my macbook pro and everything works fine.PS my windows XP cannot get internet at all so I cant download anything nor do I have a USB?
