I purchased a Western Digital My Book Live external hard drive. After I connected it with my BEFW11S4 and installed the WD interface, I found that I hung when I tried to access my aol email account, either using AOL's own software or using the AOL mail link on the AOL home page on Firefox. WD knew nothing about such a problem. I have had the router for years with no problems; the firmware is 1.50.14 dating from May 2004

I am trying to assist my sister with her BEFW11S4 Wireless Router. It has been working fine until this week! The Firmwre is version 1.50. The main router is not connecting to the internet, yet the 2 wireless adapters for their other 2 computers are! It shows that the main one has a connection but when you bring up any Internet Browser it says it can't find the connection. We've checked the settings and they are all correct. We even turned the firewall off and that didn't work!

Linksys Wireless router connected but no access to the internet. I do not have a modem in my flat from ISP, only a cable, since the internet is set for every apartment in the building. I have a username and password that I use to connect. There is no problem connecting with the cable. I set up by Belkin wireless router and I'm actually connected to internet wireless but it only works if I also enable the primary ISP connection on my computer so my laptop is connected to internet without a cable. But this weird connection does not allow me to connect my phone to wireless or any other computer. Also the router settings site says not connected to internet and the internet light on Belkin is off.I have a Slovenian ISP -Amis, cable connection and Belkin Wireless modem, Avira Free antivirus.

I have a hardwired HP computer with no problem connecting. The remainder of my wireless devices will not access internet. No problem until about 3 weeks ago then all of a sudden it stopped. All wireless devices detect the router/network, but will not allow access to the internet.

I have a Linksys E1000 device that is connected to a DSL connection through a modem. I have a Laptop that is wirelessly connected to the router and a PC that is connected via cable. Lately, a problem started to occur where the router keeps losing the internet connection and Laptop tell me that it connected to the router but there in no internet access and the same thing happens to the PC, both disconnect at the same time. I called my ISP company when this happens and they told me that the connection is working fine and everything look ok from there. I connected my PC directly to the modem and it worked fine so problem is not from modem. When i go to the router settings at the moment this occurs, it shows that all IPs are 00000 and status is "Connecting" and then it connects and changes to "connected" and everything fine till like 15 minutes later where this happens again (sometimes, it actually disconnects again after like 15 seconds!). I took the router to the dealer and he examined it and told me there is nothing wrong but he updated the firmware and told me to try it but same thing so he exchanged it for a new one and problem is still there!

I've looked through the forums and FAQs and haven't seen anything that resolves my issue. I recently moved from the US to Japan. I had my WRT54GS set up in the States and the network worked fine. When i got here, i set it up, hard reset the router and set up a new network.
I can access the internet when connected through the router via ethernet cable, but I cannot connect any of my wireless devices. Easy Link Advisor says "internet connection is not working" but it is. I have two computers connected via cable and they both work so it is not an issue of my ISP allowing multiple IP addresses.
My wireless devices (XBox, PS3, laptop) can see the network but cannot connect through to the internet. I also just noticed that the "wireless mode" according to the EasyLink Advisor says "disable", however the wireless settings on my 192. server webpage is set to "mixed" and seems to be correct in all settings to be on.

My main pc is running Windows 7. It is also running MS Windows firewall and anti-virus. It connects fine to the internet via an ethernet connection to the WRT610N.
I am trying to access the internet wirelessly from another pc running Windows XP. The wireless pc indicates it is connected to the network with excellent signal strength. It will not connect to the internet. I can successfully ping the router but it is unsuccessful when pinging an internet address.
An additional wireless pc (WinXP) and my phone (Android) also show connected to the network but will not connect to the internet.
These wireless computers used to be able to access the internet before we moved house. They only thing I think that has changed is the addition of Windows firewall and anti-virus. It may however be something else.

I installed an E1200 wireless router yesterday and everything worked fine. However, I happened to turn off the modem overnight and now my computer indicates (under Wireless Network Connection) that I'm connected, but above (under Currently Connected To) it says that I have No Internet Access. I tried turning off the modem, router and computer and turning them on again in that order, but that didn't work. Do I need to do the set-up again ?

I just moved in to a new place and have connected my Wireless router (WRT610N) to my switch located in the smart panel in the basement (SE2500). Plugging my ultrabook in to the wall confirms that the signal from the switch in the basement is being sent up, however if I plug my wireless router in to the jack and connect to the wireless router I have no internet access.

So, I restarted my linksys router (WRT54G model) yesterday because of some issues I was having. Right now, I have full bars for connectivity on all my devices (Acer Aspire laptop running Windows 7 starter) when the Ethernet cord is connected from the modem to the router, but I have no internet access. Only when my laptop is connected directly to the modem, I have access to the internet (but ofcourse no wireless).

I'm trying to use a second laptop with my old router (model BEFW11S4 v.2) for a work project. I've tried two diff computers and neither will connect, each giving different error messages. The work laptop I have right now will hook up to an unsecured network and will ask me for a network key for other detected secured networks, but tells me to refresh and search for networks again when I try to hook up to my network. My personal laptop hooks up to the internet just fine.

I have a sonicwall firewall connected to the LAN port of the RV016 router and two DSL modems connected to the WAN ports.
Ip address allocation:
Firewall
192.168.50.9
RV016
LAN - 192.168.50.10
WAN - 192.168.60.1
WAN - 192.168.61.1
What configurations do I need to enter into the RV016 to allow other networks connected to the firewall(192.168.3.0, 192.168.2.0) to access the internet?

I'm trying to port forward with the Linksys BEFW11S4, I've followed all the instruction from support website. I went to the Application & Gaming then Port Range Forwarding. I changed the settings so I can access this IP remotely. When I try to log into this IP from a different network it wont let me.

I just upgraded my connection from 15Mbps to 30Mbps. And I have the strange problem of not being able to go above 20Mbps. From what I understand a 10/100Mbps is technically able to do up to 100Mbps? (Ethernet connection, not wireless)I just got off customer support and they said it's normal that it's capped at 20Mbps, the lady that was serving, albeit nice, didn't seem to understand what she was saying so I didn't try to push to get more info.

I have router BEFW11S4 ver.4 and its sending wifi around the house, but its an open connection with "linksys" as the username and no password. I've been trying to hook it up but it will not open up when I type in the IP address. It was working last night, and it just stopped all of a sudden. Now my wireless internet is working perfectly! It loads up fast and everything, however, as soon as I plug in the cable that connects my laptop to my router, the internet gets weird. Only yahoo loads up. Gmail, facebook, and other websites dont. And when I type in the IP address, it doesn't work either. I tried to do it both with the direct internet plugged in, and then I switched to wireless. It didn't matter. Whenever the cable was plugged in, it caused problems. As soon as I unplugged it, the wireless went back to normal. I'm on wireless now without the cable plugged in now and it works fine. What should I do? I know the regular IP address should be the 192 one, and that I should sign in with admin password and nothing for username, but my IP address is 172.18.4.1 (I ipconfig'ed to find out)DO I need to change the IP address? If so, how?

I have my laptop and my Xbox 360 currently hooked up to this router trough ethernet cables (yes I know it's a very old model, but it's all I have for the time being). I'm having issues with connection that I know is on the router end because the router I had before (that has now gone bad) connected fine, but this one has issues. Literally almost every hour on the dot, the connection goes out and will immediately come back on as soon as I simply unplug the router and plug it back in. Basically, I have to turn the router off and on every hour to continue to stay connected all day, everyday.reason?
