View 1 RepliesI need to change providers from Verizon to AT&T. This modem came with the AT&T Sim card installed in my notebook. The software (Dell Mobile Broadband Utility Help) says " Choose Network Selection from the Settings Menu. Select AT&T and click Load." Unfortunately, Network selection is not an option.
How do I do it? This modem is compatible with Verizon, AT&T and Sprint networks.

Recently got a mobile broadband dongle for my laptop, shows 7.2 Mbps speed in the status window and under activity the received bytes is shooting up, as I write this is has went from 25,000,000 to 35,000,000, that's about 10 mg for a few seconds, it does this even when I have no page open, I can't see anything in task manager, I don't know why it's downloading so fast when there's nothing there, also because of this it is slowing my browsing down,

Then I tried to connect another way, and it was asking me for user name and password. I put in what was on the back of the wireless adaptor - the name, and the wifi key number as the password. It looked like it was trying to connect but didn't.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a desktop PC where the only internet connection is via a 'USB mobile broadband dongle'.I have connected the PC via ethernet cable to the ethernet port on a d-link wifi router (which isn't connected to the internet).I'd like to be able to connect other non-PC devices (eg my mobile phone) to the router via wifi in order to connect to the internet. To do this, I gather that one possible solution is to bridge the LAN and dongle connections. My first problem is that in 'Network Connections', only my USBdongle connection is shown (see pic) - there is no icon for the LAN/ethernet. In device manager, the "Atheros AR5007EG Wireless Network Adapter" and "Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller" are both showing without any ?'s etc

I have a 3 Network USB Dongle which is the only thing that will work for receiving broadband at a remote location.

I am looking for a 3G mobile broadband wireless router WITH dual band frequencies and 4 gigabyte ports OR could the DAP-1350 be connected to my DIR 655 that at least has the gigabyte ethernet ports? (Would I connect it to the Internet port or to one of the Ethernet ports and turn the 655 into an access point?)
I have a sprint 250u Sierra USB for my Internet. There isn't anything else available where I live, and don't even get me started on satellite Internet .What I'd like to do is have an Internet connection with a wireless router with dual band frequencies and at least 4 gigabyte switch ports to share a NAS device that I'm going to buy in the near future along with a printer and surveillance camera. That way I don't have to have multiple wireless devices to connect to for what I want to be able to do.
I have a WLC 4402 on my network. Recently mobile phones can connect to the wireless network and obtain a valid IP address. This IP is pingable from a workstation anywhere else on the network. However, these phones will not display web pages. They come up page cannot be displayed. I even tried putting Google's IP address in the phone's browser and it still did not display. I can connect through the same WLAN via a laptop or iPad. These devices have no problem displaying web pages. I even went ahead and created a new TESTWLAN with no encyption but to no avail. Same results: laptops connect and display web pages and smart phones connect, gain IP but do not display web pages. Comes up page cannot be displayed. This matters not whether its an iPhone or Android platform.
View 8 Replies View RelatedCurrently I am hosting a 7 day mountain retreat, for about 90+ people. Clearly they are dependent on the internet teet as am I I am trying very hard to provide internet to our friends, but I just can't seem to figure it out I have a Mobile Broadband Router (MBBR) which limits connected devices to 6, so I figured that if connect a home router with wifi (WIFI) that allows 253 connections problem solved right? So I put a short LAN cable from the LAN port on the MBBR to the WAN port on the WIFI and presto! The WIFI gets a IP address, but does not allow other users of the WIFI to get internet. I've even killed all security on the WIFI and put the WIFIs IP in the DMZ on the MBBR. I noticed the DNS was the same as the gateway on the WIFI, so I changed that to the DNS on the MBBR still nothing.
PS Yes I have a connection on the MBBR I am on it now.Connecting the LAN cable from the MBBRs LAN to the WIFIs LAN extends the range, and grants internet to the WIFI users... but uses the MBBRs DHCP to give IP addresses, which limits to 6.I guess the goal here is bypass the limitation of the MBBR by using the WIFIs DHCP to issue IPs?
I'm living in Australia for a few months and my accommodation does not have a phone line, so I've been using mobile broadband dongles instead. This worked fine until recently, when I abruptly became unable to access the internet. The laptop recognises the dongle and seems to connect, but the download/upload speeds are at a constant zero bytes per second (I have tried to ping Google while 'connected' but received no response). I have tried two dongles from Dodo and one from Telstra, with the same results. Initially, I assumed that this was simply due to signal strength, but each of the three dongles I have tested work fine on another laptop in the same location (I'm using one of them to post this). I have also tried using the dongles with my laptop in other locations, including the city centre, but with no success.
Also, I seem to be unable to connect to any wireless networks (e.g. McDonalds wifi) - the laptop detects the network ok, and seems to be connected, but I am unable to access any web pages etc. In the Network and Sharing Centre, the laptop is connected with the wifi network, but the wifi network does not seem to be connected to the internet. I'm unsure if this is related to the above problem, however.Like I say, everything seems to have been working fine up until about a week agoIf

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an XPS M1330 with an internal Dell Mobile Broadband Mini-card 5720 VZW for Verizon. The Dell Mobile Broadband Utility (DMBCU) now reports an APPCRASH upon launch only when Windows Internet Explorer 8 (IE8) is installed. I'm certain it is due to IE8 and probably the required MeadCo Zeepe add-ins that are required for dmbcu.exe functionality. Upon uninstallation of IE8, the dmbcu.exe works flawlessly.
Is there any update or plan to update the DMBCU for the 5720 VZW minicard?
Is there or will there be a Windows 8 driver for the Dell 5540 mobile broadband HSPA card? Now that Windows 8 has RTM'd I was expecting a few more drivers to be released but this one currently doesn't work on my fairly new XPS.
Is there an alternative driver from the chipset manufacturer I can try? I'm happy to try out a beta driver if available.

I know; I could buy one that has it in one package, but we're throwing the router out from work anyway. If this works my daughter will be thrilled with her iPod more is all :)
I've got the mobile broadband on, and plugged in the router and Windows 7 makes a second network connection automatically for the router, though with no internet access, and the setup wizard in the router claims to have no access to the internet. (though clearly I'm posting...lol).
We can see the Wireless signals on devices and can connect to the router but then the devices say no internet access when you actually try to access the web, like the router wizard does. and yet, we are online

I bought a new Toshiba Satellite C660 laptop with Windows 7 on Sept 1st, and had no problems at first with the mobile broadband. However, on Monday 13th I noticed massive spikes in the data usage. After browsing the internet for around an hour I decided to check my usage randomly, and it was at 350mb!Since then, there's times when I don't even have my browser open and in the space of 5 minutes it will reach 150mb of usage. There's also times when it works absolutely perfectly for hours on end (including today, where it was working fine up until around an hour ago!) I phoned the mobile broadband company twice last week, the first time the person told me that it was a computer issue and to go to an IT repair place.
So after sending him screencaps of Windows task manager processes/applications/network he can't see anything that could be doing it. He advised me to do a full antivirus scan, and full malwarebytes and ad aware scans and they've all come up clean. The second time I phoned the broadband company, they told me that there were some wrong settings, and that they've been changed now but if I have any more problems to ring customer care again. So after seeing an offer with a different mobile broadband provider, I decided to buy a new broadband stick and change networks in hoping that would solve the problem.... it didn't.
So there's definitely something about the new laptop that's causing the data usage to spike I don't use any torrent programs, and haven't been watching youtube videos constantly or trying to stream online, like I said there's been times where I don't even have Google Chrome open and it's using up all my data! I don't use Skype or anything like that either (to be honest I have barely any programs on this new laptop)I've turned off all the automatic updates for as many programs as I think can have them. Ii's definitely improved a bit though, but there are still times (like around an hour ago) that the data usage starts spiking randomly.
