Netgear WGR614v9 - Connecting 3G Mobile Broadband To Wireless Router
Mar 18, 2011
I've got an Optus (in Australia, so 3G mobile broadband is all that matters I would think) that I'm trying to connect to a Netgear WGR614v9 wireless router. So the 3g mobile plugs into usb on computer; the router to the ethernet card on computer.
I know; I could buy one that has it in one package, but we're throwing the router out from work anyway. If this works my daughter will be thrilled with her iPod more is all :)
I've got the mobile broadband on, and plugged in the router and Windows 7 makes a second network connection automatically for the router, though with no internet access, and the setup wizard in the router claims to have no access to the internet. (though clearly I'm posting...lol).
We can see the Wireless signals on devices and can connect to the router but then the devices say no internet access when you actually try to access the web, like the router wizard does. and yet, we are online
I want to share mobile broadband with another computer. One desktop running on windows7 and connected to wireless router netgear wgt624 v3 via ethernet cable. The other laptop is running on windows7 and has wireless card. Both computers are connected wirelessly via router on private network within workgroup and can share files between each other. The mobile broadband dongle is connected to desktop pc and desktop is running the internet Now I want the desktop pc which is running internet by wireless dongle to share that internet with laptop via wireless router. I have tried setting is up but couldn't do that. When I connect the dongle to desktop pc it use the same IP address 192.168.1.1 which is already used by wireless router. Tried to configure different IP in router but didn't work.
I have existing wireless system router "Netgear wireless G router WGR614v9" and connected to DELL PC and laptops (two) and both are having window XP system.I have old computer ( Toshiba Satellite 335CDT with window 98 and I want to connect this to my existing wireless system.
I've just installed a new wireless router (Netgear wgr614v9), but I'm having trouble getting an Acer Aspire 1 (with Linpus Linux) to connect. All other devices within the house can connect (iPod, mobile phone, other laptops), but this laptop wont.It was connected but it disconnected itself and now refuses to connect. Clicking "Connect" on the dialog does nothing. The OS is possibly the worse I've ever used, but there doesn't seem to be much you can upgrade it to.The router is protected with "WPA-PSK [TKIP] + WPA2-PSK [AES]" according to the router setup, it's name is unique and password 8 chars long.
I need to change providers from Verizon to AT&T. This modem came with the AT&T Sim card installed in my notebook. The software (Dell Mobile Broadband Utility Help) says " Choose Network Selection from the Settings Menu. Select AT&T and click Load." Unfortunately, Network selection is not an option.
How do I do it? This modem is compatible with Verizon, AT&T and Sprint networks.
i currently have a netgear wgr614v9 running the most recent firmware update and a tplink nr741nd running the latest dd wrt firmware.the netgear is my main router connected to the modem positioned in the living room attached to this is a wired ps3, wii and various laptops connect wirelessly to this. In my bedroom i have the tplink router is is setup as a client on the netgear router allowing media network drive access to the internet.
What i would like to achive is to be able to connect to the netgear router wirelessly and have access to the network drive attached to tplink router.I have tried a client bridge on the dd wrt firmware but this does not work at all. I have read that i need to setup a VPN on the dd wrt but i can find anything on how to do this when trying to access a drive on a second level.
I am looking for a 3G mobile broadband wireless router WITH dual band frequencies and 4 gigabyte ports OR could the DAP-1350 be connected to my DIR 655 that at least has the gigabyte ethernet ports? (Would I connect it to the Internet port or to one of the Ethernet ports and turn the 655 into an access point?)
I have a sprint 250u Sierra USB for my Internet. There isn't anything else available where I live, and don't even get me started on satellite Internet .What I'd like to do is have an Internet connection with a wireless router with dual band frequencies and at least 4 gigabyte switch ports to share a NAS device that I'm going to buy in the near future along with a printer and surveillance camera. That way I don't have to have multiple wireless devices to connect to for what I want to be able to do.
I've been pulling my hair out for several weeks trying to connect to a Filezilla server on Windows Vista through my Netgear WGR614v9router.I have received a domain name for dyndns.org and the IP address resolves correctly on the remote computer using the Filezilla client but my computer doesn't respond. I have set up the FTP port to be on 21 and have allowed Filezilla through my firewall on Windows Vista.
A Seimens Gigaset SE568 Wireless Router connected to a DSL Line and broadcasting a WIFI signal throughout my house. I receive this WIFI internet connection on my laptops using their respective WIFI adapters, and on my desktop using a GASKY GS-28USB Wireless USB Adapter, and use this internet connection simultaneously in both desktops and laptops. Now, I am shifing to a new 3G USB Mobile Broadband service:
Where I can directly connect the 3G USB Mobile Broadband Stick to my desktop or my laptop and use the internet directly, but not all at once through my router as was previously configured. Is there a way using the existing hardware, can I configure my desktop to share this internet connection and broadcast from the GASKY GS-28USB Wireless Lan Card to the Seimens Gigaset SE568 router and then throughout my house for simultaneous access, or directly share the internet through the GASKY adapter itself, or is there some other configuration I can use ?My Desktop has Windows 7 installed as an operating system.
I have a local web development server that I'd like to open up so my clients can see the sites I build for them. The server is just my old laptop that I now use only as a web server.
I'm having trouble figuring out the port forwarding for this. I have a Netgear WGR614v9. I've configured the server to have a static IP, and have port forwarding sending port 80 over to the server. I've made an exception in Windows Firewall for port 80.
So, from my understanding, I should be able to go to my http://[my public ip], and I should in the least see my servers default site.
I think my problem is that I don't have just one website hosted by Apache. But instead am using Virtual Hosts to have a handful of sites hosted. So what I don't know is how to configure the server to know what site to serve.
I know I'm missing a step with having DNS setup. I haven't gone through that step yet because I thought it wasn't immediately necessary to configure the port forwarding.
Is there a way to turn my old PC (P4 3.0GHz, 1GB RAM, 40GB HDD) into a Mobile Broadband Router using my Verizon 4G USB device? (like a CardlePoint router)I am searching some of the "PC to Router" software titles, but I am unable to find my type of setup: (support USB 4G as internet source)DD-WRT, ClearOS, ZeroShell, RouterOS, Untangle, etc.
-use my Verizon USB 4G device as my internet source -have a single NIC on my PC router plugged into a switch -all my other PCs would be plugged into the same switch
Currently I am hosting a 7 day mountain retreat, for about 90+ people. Clearly they are dependent on the internet teet as am I I am trying very hard to provide internet to our friends, but I just can't seem to figure it out I have a Mobile Broadband Router (MBBR) which limits connected devices to 6, so I figured that if connect a home router with wifi (WIFI) that allows 253 connections problem solved right? So I put a short LAN cable from the LAN port on the MBBR to the WAN port on the WIFI and presto! The WIFI gets a IP address, but does not allow other users of the WIFI to get internet. I've even killed all security on the WIFI and put the WIFIs IP in the DMZ on the MBBR. I noticed the DNS was the same as the gateway on the WIFI, so I changed that to the DNS on the MBBR still nothing.
PS Yes I have a connection on the MBBR I am on it now.Connecting the LAN cable from the MBBRs LAN to the WIFIs LAN extends the range, and grants internet to the WIFI users... but uses the MBBRs DHCP to give IP addresses, which limits to 6.I guess the goal here is bypass the limitation of the MBBR by using the WIFIs DHCP to issue IPs?
I just got my wireless broadband and can't connect with my dell inspiron 530.It first told me that 'this computer does not have a wireless network adaptor installed and configured'
Then I tried to connect another way, and it was asking me for user name and password. I put in what was on the back of the wireless adaptor - the name, and the wifi key number as the password. It looked like it was trying to connect but didn't.
I want to install wireless router in my home. It is 200 Square metres. Usb port does not meter for me. I want to connect 2 laptop 3 mobile phone via wlan. Which will be better E2500 or E3200 to cover whole area? P.S my internet speed is 40mbps
I'm living in Australia for a few months and my accommodation does not have a phone line, so I've been using mobile broadband dongles instead. This worked fine until recently, when I abruptly became unable to access the internet. The laptop recognises the dongle and seems to connect, but the download/upload speeds are at a constant zero bytes per second (I have tried to ping Google while 'connected' but received no response). I have tried two dongles from Dodo and one from Telstra, with the same results. Initially, I assumed that this was simply due to signal strength, but each of the three dongles I have tested work fine on another laptop in the same location (I'm using one of them to post this). I have also tried using the dongles with my laptop in other locations, including the city centre, but with no success.
Also, I seem to be unable to connect to any wireless networks (e.g. McDonalds wifi) - the laptop detects the network ok, and seems to be connected, but I am unable to access any web pages etc. In the Network and Sharing Centre, the laptop is connected with the wifi network, but the wifi network does not seem to be connected to the internet. I'm unsure if this is related to the above problem, however.Like I say, everything seems to have been working fine up until about a week agoIf
I have a Netgear WNR3500L wireless router. I assume it's v1 because on the back it doesn't have "v" anything. Firmware version V1.2.2.44_35.0.53NA.When I connect using g I get 22+Mbps download speed. When I connect using n I get 10 Mbps. I've tried using both WPA2 only (laptop reports 130 Mbps connection I believe) as well as the combo WPA+WPA2 (laptop reports connection of 117 Mbps).Broadband download results don't change - they stay at the 10 Mbps level. I've fiddled with some of the settings on my laptop's wireless card - but the results are the same. For now I'm just trying to figure out where I should focus my investigation and fiddling efforts - on the laptop or on the router.
My NetGear router stopped connecting to the internet. The internet light, which is usually orange, is now yellow and flashing. I tried rebooting everything and now, when it connects it says "local access" so I can't get on the net
i have an old Netgear MR 314 router that works like a charm for my wired connections, but whenever i try to connect wirelessly from my phone or laptop, it connects but doesn't access the internet.
Recently got a mobile broadband dongle for my laptop, shows 7.2 Mbps speed in the status window and under activity the received bytes is shooting up, as I write this is has went from 25,000,000 to 35,000,000, that's about 10 mg for a few seconds, it does this even when I have no page open, I can't see anything in task manager, I don't know why it's downloading so fast when there's nothing there, also because of this it is slowing my browsing down,
I am trying to connect a wireless router (EDIMAX br-6228nc) with a ADSL router (NETGEAR). i assigned the LAN IP of the ADSL modem to 192.168.1.1, subnet mask 255.255.255.0, and enable DHCP server.then i connected a LAN port from ADSL router to the WAN port of the wireless router. i assigned IP of the WAN port of wireless router to 192.168.1.10, subnet mask to 255.255.255.0 and default gateway to 192.168.1.1 now on the LAN side of the wireless router i assigned IP 192.168.0.1 and subnet mask 255.255.255.0 enabling DHCP server.on the client pc i selected the setting of automatically assign IP setting (which it got 192.168.0.100, default gateway 192.168.0.1) but my client pc is not able to access the internet.
I am having trouble getting the wrt610n to connect to the wnr2000v2 that can be set a wireless repeater. I had a 160n hooked up and it was working fine, but am unable to get the 610n going on it. setting this type of networking up , but have a general idea of how it works. I have the 610n running and is broadcasting a signal, but the wnr 2000 will not connect to it wirelssly and repeat it. The setup in the netgear is pretty basic , but I am new to the linksys 610n and the interface that's why I believe it has to do with the 610n.
I have a desktop PC where the only internet connection is via a 'USB mobile broadband dongle'.I have connected the PC via ethernet cable to the ethernet port on a d-link wifi router (which isn't connected to the internet).I'd like to be able to connect other non-PC devices (eg my mobile phone) to the router via wifi in order to connect to the internet. To do this, I gather that one possible solution is to bridge the LAN and dongle connections. My first problem is that in 'Network Connections', only my USBdongle connection is shown (see pic) - there is no icon for the LAN/ethernet. In device manager, the "Atheros AR5007EG Wireless Network Adapter" and "Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller" are both showing without any ?'s etc
Other info:I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 on a HP Pavilion All-in-one MS200 desktop.
i had broadband connection to the computer having windows xp os and i have a nokia c6 mobile having wifi and 3g.is it possible to get connected with wifi using broadband
