Constant Disconnects From Internet Using An Ethernet Cable In A Router

I'm currently running Windows 7, and I have this issue where from time to time I am booted from my internet with the error saying either one of two things, one being; No internet access but it does show I am connected to my router, and the other being; plug in an ethernet cable. My 2 brothers on the other hand are both connected to the same router through cables as well and neither have this issue. Both issues seem to simply fix themselves by just waiting, but the disconnects are killing me.

I keep getting disconnect from the internet about every 10-15 minutes.I had a tech from cableone come over yesterday he installed all new wiring and a new modem.how can i tell if it's my computer that is the problem or if it's just a service i need to get rid of?

I've recently been being disconnected or dropped in multiple online games, but this is mostly aimed at World of Warcraft, It can be fine for hours or even days but it often comes to a point where I can't stay online for more then 10 seconds.The thing is, it works fine if I connect directly to the modem with out the router, but I have the same problem with 3 different routers including a rather expensive new one I just got.
- The Problem persists on multiple differnt computers with differnt OS and anti viruses
- I've forwarded all the necessary ports
- I've updated all the routers firmware
- I've adjusted my networking card
- I've power cycled the router many times

I'm setting up a wireless-N router. When I removed the ethernet cable to set up a second computer on the network, I lose the internet connection! My whole point in the wireless router was to be able to stay connected without wires all over the floor!I also plan to connect to the TV.

I've been using the Linksys router e1000 N type for a week now and it hasn't beeen such a great experience. The thing is when i connect the modem to my laptop via ethernet cable internet works but not when i connect the cable to the router even though this worked before. actually a few hours before. so i dont know whats happened to my router since clearly the problem is in there. the modem has lights for PC Cable DATA and POWER. The lights to all of them blink when i have connected the modem directly to laptop but the PC light is non existent when i connect it to router. hence i get no internet access. the routers power is on so i dont know what the prob is ive rebooted it a few times but to no avail.

The modem checked out and was all good, the splitters are brand new and the line is apparently fine.This left the router as the issue. We had a Netgear router and attempted to replace it with a Linksys router.The firmware on both routers have been tested both old and new firmware.This happens to all computers/laptops connect to the network I do not receive a message stating that I was disconnected from the network, the internet simple cuts out for a little while and then comes back in.Cox says that they are 100% certain it is not on their end, nor is it the modem.The disconnects occur at random (there is no specific intervals). They last anywhere from 30 seconds to 10 minutes.

I bought my new router WAG320N two weeks ago and each morning after 10 hours operation I loose my internet connectivity I can't even remote into the router and press the connect button to connect to the internet again .I have to power cycle the modem to be able to connect to the internet again .? I though this may be ISP related put my old adsl router plugged it in and ran for 2 days no disconnection.

I have a new DIR-815 router, with a network consisting of one HP desktop computer, one Sony VAIO laptop computer and one Samsung tablet computer.My problem is that I can't seem to maintain a constant internet connection requiring a new router setup at least once a week, sometimes more frequently.Also, even though the network I set up is called "HOME" my desktop, which is the computer connected to my cable provider, never shows any connection to that network. Both the laptop and the tablet connect to the :HOME" network while the desktop connects to something called "Network 5" which does not show up anywhere in my setup. As long as I have an Internet connection I really don't care what the connection is called, but I find it strange that I am connected to a network that apparently does not even exist

The internet connects fine, but every couple of minutes it will disconnect for a couple of seconds. It's not a big deal when browsing, but it's disastrous when downloading big files or playing online games.What I've tried so far:
-Resetting the modem. No change.
-Reconnecting the modem/router completely. No change.
-Replacing the main splitter. Slight change, but problem came back eventually.
--Original problem came with the tech's 2 way 5-1002 mhz spliiter.
--I tried replacing it with a 3 way 5-1000 one. The modem on 7db and cable on 7db. It worked fine for a couple of days.
--Problem comes back today. Moving the modem to any of the 3 outputs doesn't fix anything. Moving it to 3.5db actually causes a short timeout every minute when I try to ping yahoo (as a test).
--I've also tried a 2 way 5-900 mhz splitter. It was the worse one of all.
Other info:The internet went down to the entire block at the start of the year. No one knew this of back then so we made a call to comcast, and they scheduled for a tech. A couple days later, we decide to get a new modem from the comcast center just to make sure it wasn't our modem. Some problems with activation prevents us from knowing if it was. We get back online somehow the next day, which is also the same time the tech came. He decides our numbers are weird and adds in a splitter for the internet and tv (which leads into another splitter for each room), and an amplifier for the tv. In the middle of this, another tech stops by and tells us the entire block was down and he said he fixed it now, he doesn't stay long. The first tech finishes installing everything and leaves. All is fine for a couple of days, until a week later and we start experiencing frequent disconnects. We've tried calling comcast again, but they say the connection is fine on their end and the problem is with our router. When I ping the router and the modem directly, there are no dropped connections. It's only when I try to ping anything on the internet when the problem pops up.

Is there a difference in an ethernet cable and an Ethernet networking cable? I have an Ethernet cable and a 6 port splitter I am trying to connect. I have 4 ports in the router that are in use. When I connect them to the splitter nothing s working.

I have a WAG160N wireless gateway . Yesterday when i tried to power it on after a couple of seconds the power led was solid green and the Ethernet leds were blinking with no Ethernet cable attached to the router . The ethernet leds would keep blinking for minutes . I tried to use a screwdriver to do a hardware reset ( with power on ) and i noticed that the power led would start blinking green/red for minutes . I tried to use another wired router which i have for backup and it could connect to the internet normally without a problem.
What the green / red blinking power led means ( power led is green and then changes to red and then it starts over ) ?

My WAG120N wireless router disconnects every hour, precisely at the same time. This problem has started a few days ago, until then everything was fine.When the connection is gone, the "Internet" light goes off, the other lights remain on. For example, it disconnects at 07:30. It takes a minute or two to reconnect. Then it disconnects at 08:31. It reconnects, and then disconnects at 09:32.. and so on.Here are the things that I have tried (with my limited knowledge.. I'm not good with technology):- Turned the power on/off. No matter what time I do this at, the router disconnects at the same time again. For example, if it last disconnected at 07:30, and I turn it off and on at 7:50, it still disconnects at 08:31.- I tried resetting it, by pushing and holding the reset button on the back for 30-60 seconds (did it several times). Reconfigured the router (manually, not from a backup config file). Same situation as above, disconnects at the same time as always.
- I upgraded the IOS to v1.00.16, which I found here: [URL] reset and then reconfigured again. Still it didn't work.- Looked in the configuration pages for any values that resemble a 60 minute time span, and changed them. Only thing I found was the security key renewal period. Or was I sold a faulty product?

I have an issue with my router that disconnects from the internet in variuos situation when my laptop (an hp pavillion dv6) try to connect. It happen everytime when the laptop go in standby. When i turn it on from standby, the router disconnects from the net and the only way to have access to internet again is turn off and then on the router. It happens also when i turn on the laptop if there is yet some other device connected, like my desktop or my iphone or whatever.
Sometimes i have the same problem with my brand new tablet (a sony s) in a slightly different way. I navigate then, after a random amount of time, the router disconnects in the same way and the only way to have back connection is turn off and then on the router.

I'm visiting my friend at her apartment and her internet only works through an ethernet cable. I recently got Fios installed in my home. I believe there is a box the size of a power box in the back room for the Internet.All my other devices (MAC, iPod, Blueray Player) are able to recieve instant and unbelieveable internet connection except for my Dell. I have a Studio XPS Dell computer with windows 7. I plugged in the ethernet cable in the back of my computer and into the "Fios Box" but i didn't recieve any internet. Then i bought a wireless adapter and I do get internet but it disconnects me like every 5 minutes.

So saturday, my friend and i build my computer. Everything worked just fine that day. Sunday i had no problem connecting to the internet. Sunday is also the day i set up a password for my admin account.
Now when i came back from work monday, i tried to log in to my computer. As it appears, i forgot my password... (same i use on everything, so i must have messed up inputting my pass)
So i did a windows reset, since i had no CD or USB to reset my pass. I tried installing windows, and it appears 'this copy of windows is not genuine'. I thought, okay, no prob, as long as i have all options.

I am in a College dorm and the only access to internet we have is by connecting an Ethernet cable to the connection in the wall and straight to the computer. I have a desktop running windows XP Professional x32 SP3 and my network adapter is a Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller. The desktop is connected to the network with an ethernet cable.Up until yesterday the internet connectivity just stopped working. I am seeing a very low number of received packets as opposed to the high number when it was working. It is showing that it is connected to the network but I still can't access the internet. Also I should mention that the desktop is at work and it is connected to a DHCP server that assigns IP addresses. I have updated all the drivers and I have used Winsock Fix and Netsh but it still isn't working. However the weird thing is that if assign a static IP address to it...it works. But I can't do this because I am not suppose to hook it up to the ports assigned to the switch for static IP's. It has to be connected to the DHCP switch. Why does it work when assigned a static but not if it gets an IP assigned by the DHCP server or switch. Also even if I try to reset, renew or release the IP...when I connect again it still gives me the same IP. It wont change.

So, for some reason my internet connection started disconnecting about every 1-5 minutes. It worked fine this morning, however, when I turned my PC on a few hours ago it became very unstable. After it happens I have to reconnect to internet (it doesn't work all the time, I usually have to do it two times for it to work), and then again after a few minutes the connection dies. Tried restarting my computer, tried restarting the modem, tried the troubleshooting network thing (it keeps saying "Local Area Connection doesn't have a valid IP configuration", but gives no solution). Also, I tried connecting on my cellphone and on a laptop and both of those work. However, those connect through WiFi, while my PC is connected through an ethernet cable[code]

I can connect to the internet using my neighbors wireless router but when I try to use my ethernet cable it connects me to "network 16" but the internet doesnt work. Ive tried different cables and different wall ports and that didnt work. It has been working before but I disconnected it to go somewhere and when I came back I had this problem. Yesterday my main computer lost internet connectivity after avast! ran an antivirus scan and removed several viruses. I spent much of the day yesterday researching the possible problems and did not come up with any solutions.My computer's OS is vista, and the network status says it is, "Connected to identifying". Ive been using an Ethernet cable to connect to the Internet for a while now, it was working fine up to yesterday where I left my desktop open for a few hours and came back to find that I have no Internet connection.
I used my laptop to test the cable out and it works fine, the wireless works fine too. There doesnt seem to be anything wrong with the modem since I still have Internet on the PS3. I used a different cable to test the modem again with my laptop and I had internet access. The desktop is still connected to the modem but it only gives me a network connection with no Internet.
I tried restarting the modem but it still wouldnt work and I also tried to disable then enable the connection.
Im using Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller with the latest driver.

I have just arrived at a friends house to stay for a while and my laptop does not connect to the internet properly through the wireless yet works perfectly when plugged into the router directly through ethernet cable. it is not the actual router's wireless that is broken because there are three other laptops that connect and work just fine.I have done several virus scans using AVG and Spybot Search and Destroy and other than incredibar nothing has been found so i dont think it is a virus.
