Any way to schedule a reboot of a DCS2102?I've got 3 of them here, and they are very good but every now and then they seem to stop writing to the storage. They haven't frozen cause I can still connect to them via a browser
View 2 RepliesHave 13 DCS-920 Every few days a few random cameras will will hang/become unresponsive at random intervals. The cameras require that I unplug the cameras before they will respond. When the cameras are unresponsive I cannot access the camera via a web browser, the D-View Cam software, or the setup wizard. This is a problem as they are all mounted in positions requiring a ladder to access.
I have some connected via 802.11g and other hard wired over 10/100 cat-6 Ethernet cable.
Have several DCS-5300 cameras (firmware 1.06) and randomly the cameras will reboot.
D-Link says to set to factory default, but that is not physically possible.
Can I schedule a weekly reboot with this router?

I have a flaky internet connection, and it drops every few days. I've thus far powercycled my router by unplugging and plugging it back in, which fixes the issue.
I'm traveling soon, and would like to be able to have access to my stuff remotely, even after the connection drops.
I have two ideas:Run a script in Windows 7 which would soft reboot the modem - free, not sure if soft reboot is enough though. If that doesn't work, Get a hardware which would powercycle the router - haven't researched if these are readily available and cheap
Is there a way to schedule a soft reboot of my router using Windows system tools? I'd schedule it to reboot every night.
I asked a question recently about accessing camera via a smartphone but I realize that's not really the correct question. The smartphone works fine locally with wifi and has a browser available.
The real question I have is what is the easiest way to access any camera via a browser from a remote location. Years ago tech friend assisted me access my DCS-910 using dyndns.org. It was free and worked great. I guess it went away when they started charging for a basic account.
Is there an easy way to access a camera without using dyndns even if it involves putting in an IP address instead of a convenient domain name? I would just like to see at least one of my cameras in a browser off-site. If I have to pay $20/year for dyndns I can but I would prefer not to if possible.
I have a Synology NAS that is connected to several IP Cameras through a SG300 switch. From time to time the IP cameras become "disconnected" at random When I reboot the switch, the access to cameras is re-established.
Problems: it requires an external device to reboot the switchall ports are shutdown while rebooting the switch
Q1 Is there a way to program the SG300 to reboot itself automatically every X hours?
Q2 Is there a way to automate the following process on the SG300 switch itself. ping a camera every 1 minutesafter three unresponsive ping, shutdown and restart the port to which the camera is connected
I seem to be struggling to connect more than 4 cameras to my (ISP-supplied) modem/router by Netgear CGD24N via WPS. I'm on my 5th camera now (already have 3x 930L and 1x 942L) but the newest 942L just won't connect to the network at the moment and there's definitely no faults here as I swapped cameras today at the local retailer (and got an A3 942L!).I've even tried connecting the camera to my wireless extender (Netgear WN3000RP) but no luck there.
So far it has only worked twice for short periods of time (enough for me to configure the cameras) but since then I can't actually get it working. I've got a couple of spare wireless routers lying around too and should be receiving a DIR-600 soon (from the Netgear promotion in Australia) which could be useful?
I connected my camera to my router with a network cable. It is a DCS-2121, H/W Ver A2, with firmware 1.04_FR.It received an IP address and I could access it fine with a web browser.Then I configured it to work wireless.I disconnected the cable but the camera wasn't accessible.Since I couldn't find it I re-attached it with a network cable, but this didn't work.So I pressed the Reset button to start over again.However, now I cannot get it to work anymore. When I plug in the camera and have it connected with a network cable to the router the status light remains RED.When I plug it in without a network cable the status led remains RED.When I connect it with a network cable to a computer directly, the status led remains RED.I've tried changing the network settings of my router to use 192.168.0.x as range, but it makes no difference. In all cases the status indicator remains RED.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a new apple airport extreme wireless router and have done all the port forwarding and gave the camera a static address and cannot view my camera outside my network. I also have done the dyndns service also. I will note if I change the http port in the camera settings to say 82 I get a black screen and cannot view my camera till I switch back to port 80. Reason why I want to do this is I need to view my camera for more then 60 seconds.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy Dlink DCS-930 camera won't work over 3G. It works fine on my home WiFi network. When on 3G it shows the camera, click it, tries to connect but just keep saying connection timeout.
It used to work over 3G fine, nothing has changed to my network. I've rebooted the camera and router numerous times, it has the latest firmware, but still won't work. I'm logged into my dlink account fine. I have an Apple Time Capsule.
I have a camera set up in my kitchen and it works and I can view it in our house, on other computers or my iphone. But I can't view it from my work or anywhere outside our wireless range.It is a DCS-920. I have opened port 80, and checked it with a port checker and it says its open. I have bell as a provider with a 2 wire 2701hg-g modem.I read on here about someone else not having a gateway address or primary DNS. I don't know what to put in there. My camera address is 192.168.2.20.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently bought 3 DCS-920 to monitor my home while at the office. However I can't seem to get the damned things to stream video using the dyndns service. I linked my router to the dyndns account and host service. I portforward the ports my cameras are assigned. Up to this point its all good, I can access the cameras and their settings pages while outside. However both the Java and ActiveX options for video streaming do not work. Even within the network, using their raw IPs to view the cameras the videos stream works.But putting in the hostname and port they are assigned brings up the camera page, but no video.I can only assume the ports the video and audio run on are seperate, as when I put one camera's IP in the DMZ host on my router, it works with the DNS. Unforunately I can only do that with 1, and I'd rather not do that at all.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI just installed my new DCS-2121 and enabled upnp to be able to watch the feed from my mobile.While being on vacation I noticed that the feed redirected to some strange Russian site,[URL]Back home now, I noticed that the /m/m/index.html file contains an iframe at the bottom, that redirects there. So someone (not me) has been able to alter the index on the wap site and add that at the end some way or the other.While Googling I found only one reference on a French forum, and other than the lack of newer firmware for the camera no direct reactions to this.I tried with a simple PUT to put the original file back, without the iframe at the bottom, but there I get a 403.
- When can we expect new firmware to fix this HUGE security problem?
- How to restore the original (and yes, I tried a factory reset, but that doesn't restore the html files it seems)
- How did they manage?
It seems from the config db that it's an OEM'ed alphanetworks.com camera with a lot more options that d-link put in there. Any input from them maybe, it seems they are writing the firmware?
I've just got my DCS-2121 up and working. But i can't figureout how to access the direct URL for the camera?And is there a URL for still images aswell?I got an iPad and an iPhone, but i can't access the camera because it use Java.I had another DCS-900 where i could access IMAGE.jpg and Video.cgi. Is there anything like those for the DCS-2121?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have configured my new DCS-2130 with periodic transfer of snapshots to my web page. filename prefix which is given as input in the MEDIA TYPE setup however gets extended with additional numbers resulting in unique filenames after every transfer. E.g. SNAPSHOT1320703730_3939.jpg where filename prefix is SNAPSHOT. This makes it challenging when an URL contains a reference to the same file name, and the file names changes over time. Which calls for name manipulating through script or similar.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have just purchased a DCS 2121 (I assume that it is a similar model to the DCS 920 in US).I have this setup:
- Connected the DCS 2121 wireless to my Belkin Router with a fixed IP address. Firmware version 1.4 is installed on the camera.
- I have a Synology 209 NAS server with surveillance station that I have connected to the Camera.
I all works fine for 5 minutes to a couple of hours at which point the DCS 2121 loose connection to the Router and does not try to reconnect. If I turn the Cam on and off it will reconnect - and then loose connection again af a short time.This is totally frustrating since the purpose of the Cam is to work as a surveillance cam - it kinda loose its value by not being connected...
How can I configure DCS 910 webcam if I don't have the software CD?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI didn't get a reply with this question lost in another thread so I thought I'd try again. As far as I can tell the 2121 has an extremely weak microphone. I can barely here it 'live'.
The biggest problem is that when I record it the the Main Console program I hear nothing on playback. Does anyone have a DCS-2121 camera that records sound properly so it can be heard on playback using the standard D-Link software program?
I work for a company where we just put up a DCS-920. We're an IT company so always at our computers. I have everybody logged into the ip webpage to see who's coming in/out. Any function or similar to a windows gadget that can be made for the camera? So it's basically part of your windows desktop, don't have to open/close it all the time

I know the default login is Login: admin / Password: "blank"
So I go into maintence, and there's an option to change the password.
it lists:
old password
newpassword
confirm
So I leave the old password blank and type in my new password in the following 2 spaces. I click apply and a window pops up asking me to enter username and password. I just enter admin and leave the password blank. I hit ok, and everything seems to update ok. So i log out, and try to log back in.
A window pops up asking me for my password. I type in admin for my username, and my new password, and it wont work
I type leaving the username blank, and type in new password... WONT WORK
I type admin, and new password again.. WONT WORK
I try password with first letter capital.. WONT WORK
I try password with ALL CAPS... WONT WORK..
Basically it wont let me log in as admin anymore. I figure I may have typed the password wrong the first time so I reset the camera and try the process again.. SAME PROBLEM.
Am I doing something wrong in changing my password ?
I dont wanna leave my default admin login as admin/"blank" , but when I try and change the password, it wont let me log in again as admin.
LED is solid red (front) and solid blue (rear). try resetting thru the pinhole button but problem still the same. Camera not detected anymore on my network. I've try switching on and off, problem still there.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just bought a DCS-2130 for outdoor use (city landscape through my window in the nineteenth floor), and I'm trying to get it work during the daylight, but I'm having some problems.It seems like this camera can't handle direct sunlight, and in these situations the image gets blurry, even when I set the exposure to auto with max of 0dB in setup menu. Simply there's nothing I can do in this options menu to solve this problem.As the day passes by (and the sunlight gets weaker), the image gets better 'til the night, when it's perfect.What I need to know is if there is any way to setup it properly for daylight use. Is there possible to setup these exposure parameteres some other way, like editing an .ini file or something like that? Or this expensive camera simply can't handle this?
View 7 Replies View RelatedJust got this & set it up today. Wanted to buy a couple more in the next few days; but wanted to test out the D-Viewcam service. The application (D-Viewcam) is not able to find my camera.I have 'ticked' the uPNP & the forward; tried to disable it as well. No luck.
Camera 942l is on ver 1.1
D-Viewcam = v 3.2
Both reside on the same LAN
I'm able to view the camera on the browser. And on my phone.
I record on motion to an external drive using samba. I get around 20MB before it just stops recording (samba full condition signaled). This is a one TB drive with nothing much on it.
