Turn SPI under (Advanced/Firewall) off (uncheck the box).
I was getting slow page loading on Google Chrome and I think IE but don't remember for sure.
Once I unchecked the box for SPI, pages loaded much faster and I didn't have to double-click on links.
webpage A will take 1 second to load, and webpage B will take 6 seconds to load. After a browser refresh, webpage A might take 5-8 seconds to load, and webpage B will take 1 second to load.

Router is about 2 years old.
I tried resetting the router prior to the firmware update, no different. This is happening on both PC's. I tried a direct connect to the modem, and it seemed to work fine, but this doesn't always happen.
I got ADSL 2.0Mbps internet service, which it's supposed to be fast however my browsing speed is very slow, and my download speed very good and i have this problem with more than one pc and using different OS ( Windows 7 & ubuntu[linux]) so its not a virus issue or a LAN drive issue , and i tried to use different DNS but nothing change.
View 16 Replies View RelatedI am having trouble loading pages in a browser (IE, Firefox, Chrome, makes no difference). My network is on a 101.140.228.x ip scheme because that's what the wireless network is set too and we can't change that. (It's built into the hub and the manufacturer doesn't let us change it. The computer I am having trouble with is cabled into a Netgear Access Point in client mode. The Access Point is working basically like an oversized network card to pick up the wireless network across the field with the 101.140.x.x ip.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI aquired an 1841 recently from work. I am trying to use it as my home router. I have set it up with the very basics (dhcp wan, dhcp pool for lan, nat). It is grabbing an address from Comcast. It works, ran speedtest and the speed looks fine at 25/3 or so.
The problem is when I am surfing the net. I'll go to a site like Youtube. It will take forever to load the site, never play the video. I have tried other sites, Autoblog, Break, etc. It seems like anything with a lot of multimedia. If I go to MSN, the first time it will take about 10 seconds to load all the pictures, after that it is instant (probably cached).
Then, if I wait a few minutes, go back to the same site, sometimes it'll be just as slow, sometimes it'll work fine. I have checked a few of the cisco logs and it doesn't show any drops or errors that I can see. If I run a constant ping to something like google.com while it is slow loading, the response time remains normal around 25ms.
I set up my other d-link home router and it works fine with all sites, same speeds from speedtest. I tried plugging a computer directly into the Cisco and same slowness issues.
Iam running Windows XP sp3 ,firefox browser and my router and modem are fine. iam getting transferring /waiting for 5 minutes before it loads. each transaction on the page takes minutes. Ive disabled/repaired/enabled internet connection" several times with no success. Where can I look in my system?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an 1841 running Advanced Security IOS (12.4(25) I think, have to check when I get home) that I'm using to learn about CBAC and IOS' firewall functionality. Its external interface is connected to my Windstream DSL modem in bridge mode, and the router is doing the PPPoE authentication. It's also doing NAT for my internal network, and is acting as a firewall using CBAC inspect statements and ACLs.
Everything is working at at least a baseline level: the DSL authenticates and connects, and machines on the inside can browse the web. The problem is that browsing to some sites is slow or times out. Not all sites, just some. Latency seems to be okay when doing pings. The problem seems to happen with https connections, but again, not all of them. Gmail works fine (I have it set to always use https), while my bank and credit card sites either time out or take minutes to load.
I have an "inspect https" line in my config, and have allowed https through my outbound ACL.
I'm looking for next steps for troubleshooting this. I've check CPU utilization and it's very low; not sure what else it could be. I only have a few inspect statements, for the common stuff: tcp, udp, icmp, pop3, imap, dns, tftp, ftp, and ntp.
I am trying to troubleshoot an issue on our network that is resulting in extremely slow internet browsing. I have found out that the first request in a ping always timesout. Also, having the same issue with running a tracert. I have included some screenshots
View 7 Replies View Relatedi recently had a RAID Z setup on Solaris 10 (oracle) which worked fine until my motherboard gave out (computer would boot fine and work OK and then shut down ~ 20 min later). So I replaced the motherboard (ASUS E35M1-I Fusion AMD E-350 APU) but solaris would not install so I put in OPENINDIANA (build 151). I installed Samba and used my old smb.conf file (below). I can view the share from my win 7 machine, and the transfer speeds look good (I can stream an HD movie fine).The problem is that for browsing pictures every 10 pictures or so the viewer or browser stalls for 30 sec - 1 min before it is able to load the next picture. It also happens when I browse to different directories.

I am using a Thomson ST516 v6 DSL Modem, through which I have connected a Tenda W311R+ Wireless Router. There's two laptops, one running Windows 7 Sp1, the other running Windows Xp Sp3, and an Android based phone using this connection. I should mention that the problematic laptop had Windows 7 before switching to Xp and ran without any issues.

For some really strange reason, my web browsing has been ridiculously slow, with the words "Waiting for [website]" always showing up in the bottom corner of Chrome for a good 10-20 seconds before the website loads. This happens to every website I visit, bar Facebook (secret Facebook virus?). It's especially bad on shopping websites such as eBay, taking upwards of a minute to load pages. I have tried Internet Explorer and the same thing is happening.
My downloads, on the other hand, have been unaffected by the upgrade, with download speeds averaging 800KB/s.
If it matters, my current modem/router is a D-LINK DSL-G604T; my other devices work perfectly fine on this modem, with browsing speeds being faster on my 2G iPod Touch than my desktop computer.
I currently use Avira Internet Security 2012 as my anti-virus.

In the middle of writing this, I decided to download Firefox, which has improved on my browsing speed somewhat, but still has hiccups here and there (Facebook takes forever to load in Firefox). But having been a Chrome user for a long time, I would like to stick with it.
I get the following error whne enabling 802.11a network on a AIR-WLC2106-K9. Country is set to ID (Indonesia),>config 802.11a enable network802.11a network not supported for this Country CodeYet, on a AIR-CT2504-K9, set to same country code there is no problem. Is this a WLC model or version issue? WLC2106 is on version 6.0.199.4 while the CT2504 is 7.0.220.0

Cable modem>Router>4 computers + 1 wireless printer.. But i needed more ports so i bought a trendnet gigabit switch with 8 ports.
Then I Plugged port 4 on router to >switch port 1
When all the computers are turned on and using everything at once i cant access websites but my skype works so i figure its probably a dns issue and my dlink is overloaded? I didnt try to access any sites with the ip only fail on my part.
Once this happened i immediately unplugged everything and restarted the router. I only have my own computer hooked up the router and did a firmware upgrade to 2.10na and my internet works immediately after but when i hook up another comptuer to the network i cant access any pages but my skype works..
My Dir-615 E1 5.01 works fine, daughters Iphone, laptop connect fine. My Droid Max android phone connects with no problem but does not load web pages or sites. Phone does work great at other wifi spots just not at home with this DLink. My last android phone acted the same way, cannot use wifi at home! Not a password issue cause it does connect and has strong signal.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIt started a week or so so ago, whenever I tried to connect to a site the page would run very slowly (but once initially connected would run fine). Then today, I haven't gotten a response from any websites; there is just an infinite blank loading screen. I use Google Chrome, and tried switching to the already installed Internet Explorer but my my results were the same. I have been able to make calls on Skype without issue and even downloaded a game from the Microsoft store since the issue started. I am also using the wifi with my phone to post this, so I know it's not a connection issue. Everything using the Internet is working fine, just not the browsers. I am running Windows 8 with Kapersky Internet security (which has never given me an issue). I, also, scanned the computer and manually searched it for any signs of viruses or malware to the best of my ability and found nothing.
View 3 Replies View RelatedEver since setting up this router it has been giving me problems on my laptop, connected wirelessly. At random intervals, throughout the house, an error saying "Connection was reset" comes up in firefox when browsing the web. I've tried resetting the router twice, and updating my network adapter's(Intel 465AGN) drivers. Neither of these worked. No settings on the router were modified, other than enabling the Qos engine. Signal quality isn't the problem either as it is full at all times. On my other computers, three connected through wireless and one through wired, there have been no problems at all and they perform very well.

I can connect to the network, but when I attempt to access a webpage, the request will time out. All other devices are able to connect to the network and get to the internet with no issue. I bought a DIR-655 for my parents after their old router died in a planned power outage. It's a rev. B1 model running the 2.00 firmware. It worked fine initially for a day or two with great wireless coverage, even in the previously low-signal spots in the house.Then the problems started. The router now has trouble loading any website. What you get is instead a page returned from the router saying something along the lines of "network unreachable, please check you internet settings" (I will go there today or tomorrow so I'll update the post with the specific error). Refreshing the page a few times sometimes makes it load, but extremely slow and then the same thing happens again a few moments later. The same thing happens on both wifi and through the router's LAN ports. If I connect a computer directly to the modem it works just fine, as it has always done before getting this router.I have disable QoS, NAT endpoint filtering and the firewall (SPI). I have also set the WAN port speed to 100Mbit/s in the router, to match what the modem is set to (also had issues with the default setting).
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have had this wireless router for 3.5-4 months, and it has been working fine up until now.It either runs VERY slow and losses connection often or will not connect at all. I could be sitting beside the router or across the room with the same results. i have even tried connecting a cord from the laptop to the router, but it makes no difference. If it makes any difference we have a PS3 that is connected via wire to the modem and it works just fine, never loses connection. We have used both at the same time since we got it and it was fine up until a few weeks ago.I have tried reseting it and unplugging everything and rebooting the computer and that had no effect. The installation and configuration went fine and windows shows full bars of signal. However, when i ran a speedtest i noticed it was slow as %&/(. The download speed was 0.50Mbps, but on my laptop and with the old Wlan thingie my speed was 7.00 Mbps.
I have tried changing the WLAN channel three times. I have set my wireless to 802.11g only mode, and i have changed the USB port once. The packaging says that the thing has wireless data rate up to 75MB at 20Mhz channel, and 50m range in an office environment. The router is approximately 5 meters from the computer and there is one wall in the way.
Is there something i can do or was my first mistake purchasing a USB Wlan adapter?
I ran a speed test with my new DIR-655 connected to my PS3 and my download is 768kbps and my upload is 1.5mbps. However, my internet connection is 50mbps and 2mbps upload on my computer connected via LAN. While I understand SOME decrease, that's slower than the previous Wireless G router that I had.
I've reset the router twice and it's currently set to the factory defaults. I've even tried setting a static ip address for the PS3 and put it into DMZ mode. However, I'm still getting the slow speeds.
Also, my iPhone 4 is getting about 14mbps download and 2mbps upload. Is that expected?
When I connect through my router, GMail, Livejournal, Yahoo and Facebook and some other sites are really slow, especially Google and Livejournal. If I connect directly to the modem, they are fine. I've reset the modem to factory and it's still slow on both my Vista PC connected with a cable and my GF's Macbook on wifi. I clear the cookies regularly, use CCleaner, scanned for adware, viruses. What do I do?
View 14 Replies View RelatedJust got my fiber Internet 100/100mbit and connected it to the D-Link Dir 655 AP. I only get about 30mbit out of it. I've scanned and tried to change to channel 1, 6 and 11 with no luck, same speed. There is no electronical devices between the AP and the PC. When i go into task manager in Windows, it says i'm connected to the ap with 130mbit. I got the latest firmware.

I get an error: Wireless adapter not found! insert the adapter now.Thing is, the driver is installed and I can surf the internet.I did some speedtest net tests and I see that my DWA-125 A2 is faster.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a 10 Mbps Internet connection, if I connect my PC directly to my modem I get the 10Mbps sometimes more, also I get them if I connect my modem to my switch and from the switch the computer.The problem comes when I connect my modem to the D-link DIR-600 router and from the RJ-45 connectors of the D-link I connect my computer, i get 0.80, 1.5 max. and my wifi devices gets the 10mbps. What is happening with the D-link RJ-45 slots or im missing something in the configuration?
