D-Link DIR-601 :: Connection Was Reset Error In Firefox While Browsing Web
May 11, 2010
Ever since setting up this router it has been giving me problems on my laptop, connected wirelessly. At random intervals, throughout the house, an error saying "Connection was reset" comes up in firefox when browsing the web. I've tried resetting the router twice, and updating my network adapter's(Intel 465AGN) drivers. Neither of these worked. No settings on the router were modified, other than enabling the Qos engine. Signal quality isn't the problem either as it is full at all times. On my other computers, three connected through wireless and one through wired, there have been no problems at all and they perform very well.
I'm expecting some problems with ACE. I've configured it to loadbalance between 4 nodes with SSL termination at ACE.
Everything was working fine up to the identification of a problem using firefox browser. With Chrome and IE works fine.
The user is trying to upload a file to one of the 4 nodes. When the costumer click at the send button, the Firefox shows the following message: Connection Reset.
This problem just happens when the user try to upload the file. Whe he's just surfing through the system, works fine.

I installed Ad-Aware Pro 30 day trial. I enabled safe browsing but it doesn't allow me to open some websites. Ok, perhaps thats the point of safe-browsing but I need to enter those sites. So, I decided to disable it, but I don't know how. I clicked "off" on Ad-Aware's "Home" window, but the sites still not working. Theres a possibility that the websites I'm trying to enter are not going to work after I disable safe-browsing because there's something wrong with internet(I'll open another topic for that). But still, I'd like to see Firefox's "cannot found" window, not Ad-Aware's.
I have a different problem, after i succesfully erased the spyware protection virus, i cant get in the internet anymore :( it always says "the connection was rest" on firefox and it wont load any site in IE either. what to do
Ok starting about an hour ago I seem to be having a problem accessing youtube as well as Facebook & now Microsoft?I have done some searching around and tried a few of the suggestions I found including; trying another browser (happens using both Mozilla and IE), clearing internet cache, unplugging my modem for a minute then plugging it back in, etc, and so far none of these have worked. I did get youtube to work once since then long enough to upload a 10 sec video but once it was uploaded and I tried editing the video details I once again found myself taken to the page that says The connection was reset.
I just changed my internet provider from DSL to cable. When I hooked up the DIR-615 I had some difficulties. At first my computers would all connect to the router but there was no internet connection. I had to download the latest firmware and install it. After the install succeeded, everything seemed to be okay. However, I now occasionally get the message that the connection to the server was reset while the page was loading. Also, the little world symbol on the router constantly flashes at a rapid rate. Before the switch, neither of these two things happened. When I check the download speed it seems fine. The cable modem is an Arris and also handles my telephone service.
On my PC laptop, when we try to connect to the internet (wireless router) through firefox we get the error message"Firefox can't establish a connection to the server @ cn-us.start3.monzilla.com. When we try using Window explorer we get "Internet Explorer can't display webpage" When prompted to click on "diagnose connection problem" it states Windows did not find any problems with this computer network connection.
A couple of points... the connection indication at the bottom states the laptop is connected to the internet. (WLAN ON)I have a Mac that is connected to our internet and doesn't have any problems. We have Windows Vista on the PC laptop
I've never had a router or network in my place and I've just bought a DIR-825. I previously had a DIR-615? but returned it because I was having this problem. Now I'm still having it with the 825.When I use IE or Mozilla Firefox(preferred) I can usually navigate 2-3 pages before the program stalls and goes (Not Responding) for about 15-20 seconds before it starts going again. Then it repeats again in about another 3-4 pages or so.
I've got the times set for my router and I'm using Firmware 2.03NA-RevB
For the last two weeks or so I keep getting kicked out of websites I have went to on more than one occasion. IE just says cannot display webpage and firefox keeps saying connection timed out. I have been researching this issue through other forms. Here is what I have tried so far to fix this issueReset all cookies, history, etc Renewd IP System Restore I am not running off any proxys Did a full compuer scan and removed all threats/virus' Reset SSL's Uninstalled Windows IE and Firefox and reinstalled Unplugged Router Put cookies/firewall settings to minimun or none and tried to access websitesThere is no specific trend towards the webstites I go to, that I can see at least. One is my bank account and another is a clothing store, little things like that here and there. I can't get on any mozilla websites for tech so I have been googling it through my Android. I even did a diagnostic through windows on a specific website and it said that everything checked out and that it was a web site issue, which I find hard to believe since I can access it through my phone
When i access a url with http, it works fine. But with https it dosen't work, and get the message on the firefox as "The proxy server is refusing connections Firefox is configured to use a proxy server that is refusing connections. Check the proxy settings to make sure that they are correct. Contact your network administrator to make sure the proxy server is working.
First of all i do not have that much know how within this field (Although i work for an ISP)
There seems to be a problem with my DIR-655.
#1. As we speak the router is taking down and setting up the connection about 1-2 times pr. minute! the connection uptime is stuck in a infinite loop: 1.12 sec, 1.13, 1.14 and back to 1.12 sec. It comes back from time to time. but this is the second time this have happened.
I have a DLink 2740B and 4Mbps account.I get great signal strength but browsing is realllllllly bad...but when i do a speed test, i get about 3.2 to 3.5.I tried all kinds of sites, torrents, downloading files....hell...even google.com doenst load sometimes.
For a few days now, my internet has been as the title suggests. A speed test has shown my download and upload speeds to be about 0.06 mbps each. Every once in a while, I try a diagnose and repair, and occasionally I get one of either "Reset your TCP/IP settings" or "Improve your TCP/IP performance", but neither works. I've tried resetting my modem and have done a system restore to no avail. Offline performance is good, RAM is in good shape, etc. AVG hasn't found any viruses or spyware. It's an ethernet cable, by the way.
I have my router 7606-S rebooted by itself. According to output of show version command it's rebooted by software bug.

my cable company tells me my router is not refreshing ?? even after i disconnect - reconnect ..the power is the button on top with the circling arrows for refreshing it .. i do have a static IP if that makes a difference .
I have DIR-655, 1.33NA. Recently, I noticed the clock in the router was off, so I wanted to correct it. Each and every time I go through the steps to reset the clock, using time server or clone computer time, or manual reset, after the save settings and reboot of the router, i find the router still displays the wrong time, and frequently reverts itself to a time on Feb 22, 2012. Same problem for trying to reset the DST settings, turning automatic time from server on and off, changing the time server polled. Additionally, I have forced the router to factory settings and rebuilt all of my configuration no less than 4 times.
So, since I recently had to trade out the cable modem because Cablevision fried it with their 'system upgrade', I'm also wondering if the same shenanigans also damaged the router.
I'm having issues accessing facebook from my system, it worked untill a few days back where its not opening and gives a message "The connection to the website was reset". I have tried every trick in the book. I'm on Windows XP Pro.
1. I tried accessing the site from IE6 opera and mozilla still no luck.
2. I disabled my firewall and antivirus
3. Zonal Alarm and avira
4. I also uninstalled both and tried nothing worked.
5. Im able to ping the site and also did a tracert.I also flushed the dns and winsock.
I have a WBR-1310 D-link and was in setup this morning trying to fix my password cause the old one stopped working. Somehow I changed the password and no longer have access to the settings to change it to one that I can use to log on with my other wireless devices!!! Is there a way I can reset the whole thing? I mean something that makes sense to someone who is new to wireless internetting?
So, after everyone was raving about the 1.35NA version, I downloaded it. As I always do, I disabled my wireless NIC and connected an RJ-45. I saved my config to a .gws file. I uploaded the new firmware. When I went to reload my settings file, it said it was not a valid file. I tried multiple times. I even tried earlier versions of saved config files. Same thing.
So, I figured I'd revert to the 1.34NA firmware it was previously on. It wouldn't take it. So, I used the router config "system" page and chose "restore factory defaults". It didn't work. It still had the 1.35NA. So, I used the router's reset button. I held it in for 10 seconds, saw the system lights all blink in unison. I checked the config page and it was still on 1.35NA.
I initially set it up for static IP, which was a mistake for reasons I probably don't need to go into here. Having recognized my mistake, I've been trying to hard reset it so I can convince it to acquire its IP address by DHCP, but each time I reset it and return to the "First, select your camera" screen in the setup wizard, I'm faced with a single choice: the device as I first set it up for static IP. I don't seem to be able to convince it to give up that erroneous static IP address.I have read the FAQ section on hard reset. I've held down the reset button for a lot longer than 6 seconds while the cam was connected to power and ethernet, and I've watched it go through the sequence of flashing blue reset and WPS lights until it settles down, but this doesn't change the situation, evidently.
I am having a recurring problem with tcp sessions timing out / getting reset. I'm using the DIR-655 with PPPoE on a Qwest DSL line. Everything appears to be working fine (including my ipv6 tunnel) except for this issue where my long running ssh & database connections are being reset after a period of time.Currently have 2.03NA loaded, tried using 2.07NA but couldn't get ipv6 working correctly with the newer version.
I need to reset my 615 remotely. I will have someone on the other end push the reset button. I will then need to have them login to the 615 wirelessly. I'll establish a remote control session to their computer, and then I'll reconfigure the router settings. I know how to reconfigure the router just fine.
1) How long do you press the reset button, the manual says 10 seconds, is that correct?
>> 12 SECONDS
2) Once reset, is wireless turned on by default? I hope so, but the manual shows ENABLE WIRELESS unchecked... is that the default setting? Do I HAVE TO CONNECT VIA LAN CABLE TO "ENABLE WIRELESS" first?
>> YES
3) is the default ssid = "dlink" (no quotes)
>> YES
4) is the SSID invisible by default, or is it visible immediately after RESET?
>> IT IS VISIBLE AFTER RESET
The person on the other side can't access the router with a LAN cable, so once reset, the only way to get into the router will be via wireless; that's why I want to be sure I can do this before we do the reset.
I was trying to set up an ad hoc network and toyed around with some of the wireless network settings. The network I was trying to set up didn't quite work out so I tried to set it back to how they were but forgot how they were. Is there a way to delete the Wireless Network Connection and let it create a new one or is there a "standard" setting for this to strictly find a wireless network and connect to it?
We have a site to site VPN tunnel that consists off a Cisco 877 at a remote site and a Cisco ASA5510 at the Head Office.
Remote Site 192.168.100.0/24 > Head Office 192.168.0.0/24
telnet 192.168.0.36 25 works telnet 192.168.0.34 443 works telnet 192.168.0.202 21050 fails ping 192.168.0.202 works
The VPN tunnel is working in No NAT mode and allows IP any from each subnet. AD replication works fine across the VPN tunnel and so does telnet from the remote subnet to an exchange/web server at the Head Office.
The device on 192.168.0.202 is listening on the required port as we can telnet to it locally. The device does have a different gateway, but a route statement is in place to use 192.168.0.2 as it's default gateway for 192.168.100.0/24 traffic.
What doesn’t work is a connection to the phone system, we get the following in the logs:
6 Jun 09 2011 22:20:20 302013 192.168.100.1 60759 192.168.0.202 21050 Built inbound TCP connection 5799085 for outside:192.168.100.1/60759 (192.168.100.1/60759) to inside:192.168.0.202/21050
I have been using d link routers for a very long time. However, recently I have a problem with one of my dlink router..
Basically I have a Wireless N 150 Home Router (DIR-600 B2). I managed to reset and login to the router at http://192.168.0.1. I tried to made some configuration (disabling DHCP, some stuff, basically I was trying to configure this router as Wireless Repeater to connect to another room downstairs).
So it didn't connect so I do a reset (hold a pen for 20+ seconds at the reset button) and now I cant login to the router at http://192.168.0.1..
I have just bought a DIR-825 rev C1 stock firmware 3.0 (19 Jan 2012,) and I am pleased with its performance so far. However, I need to allow DHCP renewal request to pass through from all IP to UDP port 67 to UDP port 68; or else I will have to reboot DIR-825 every 24 hours (which is not fun ). My U-verse 2wire modem is a 3600HGV.
Shareport recognizes the printer only after resetting the DIR-825 router. I don't know if this is a Shareport issue or an issue with the DIR-825 disabling the USB port. This happens after there is no PC connected to the router for a number of hours such as overnight. I have 1 laptop and 1 desktop running Win 7 64-bit and 1 laptop running Win 7 32-bit. The desktop is connected directly to the router and the laptops connect via wifi. All PCs work perfectly when the DIR-825 is reset. This isn't a big issue but it's extremely annoying and shouldn't happen. I use a Cisco WAG320 in my office that has similar USB functionality and this never happens.
I have a DIR-655 (HW rev A2) that has worked mostly fine for a long time. Today I decided to do a firmware upgrade, and in preparation I backed up my custom config settings and did a hard reset via the factory reset button on the back of the unit.
Since then, the unit itself has been inaccessible from my computer. If I connect the DIR-655 and a PC with a network cable, the appropriate light goes on on the front of the router, but the client does not lease an IP address from the router and I can't access the router home page at 192.168.0.1.
I have tried the reset button again and also power-cycled multiple times, and I have tried connecting from multiple computers, all with the same unsuccessful results. how to "un-brick" the device?
Is there a way to reset the camera remotely, via the browser interface or a FTP connection? I can't find a "reset camera" button on the web interface...unless I've overlooked it.
