my cable company tells me my router is not refreshing ?? even after i disconnect - reconnect ..the power is the button on top with the circling arrows for refreshing it .. i do have a static IP if that makes a difference .

Basically I have a Wireless N 150 Home Router (DIR-600 B2). I managed to reset and login to the router at http://192.168.0.1. I tried to made some configuration (disabling DHCP, some stuff, basically I was trying to configure this router as Wireless Repeater to connect to another room downstairs).
So it didn't connect so I do a reset (hold a pen for 20+ seconds at the reset button) and now I cant login to the router at http://192.168.0.1..
I have installed DD-WRT firmware onto my new D-Link DIR-615. It causes some problems and I'd like to re-flash router with orginal firmware. After turning router on with Emergency Room mode and choosing right (as for me) image file I'm getting "Unable to upload the image, please make sure the uploaded file is the correct image." Information.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy computer is an XPS 360 with alot of upgrades. After looking at the specs of D-links routers I thought I give it a try. Hooked up, works like a dream. Couple months later my computer was saying I have "limited connectivity." All of the other computers have full access and works great. I tried going to my routers home page, but all I get is "The server at 192.168.0.1 is taking too long to respond." Ive tried renewing the ipconfig, restarting everything, new cables....everything I can imagine. I tried calling my ISP and they told me it wasnt there fault, that its pretty much on my end. I called Dell for support, said my warranty went out and they cant do a thing.

I have DIR-615, connected via ethernet. I enabled port forwarding for Quake 3, using the range of 27660-27980 to account for custom server ports. Set schedule to "always" although also did "never" but it didn't make a difference. I checked the FAQs for frequent resets vis a vis application outbound requests, which recommended disable uPnP and this had no effect. Symptom: when Quake 3 attempts to connect to the Master Server, the router resets all connections, LAN and WLAN. It takes approximately 30 seconds to regain connection to WAN, although LAN does not drop. Also during this time, the world sigil on the router itself turns orange. This is the only time this happens, when trying to play Quake 3. Previous router to this one was Linksys (by Cisco) BEFSR41, in which simply setting up port forwarding for the client IP address allowed connection. I can find no particular reason why the router resets all interfaces when blocking a port, if it is indeed the firewall triggering this.

I have a dlink cable modem and dlink dir-655 router. When the router is first turned on or a setting is changed any/all of the computers here can connect to the Ultima Online game server for login but within a few minutes most will not be able to. Its as if they are being refused a connection to login.owo.com (I think that is where they connect to). 1 maybe 2 computers can still connect but its fickle and can't know which 1 or 2 it will be or for how long.any computers already connected to a game server are fine its just the ones trying to login after the router has been running for a few minutes. My first assumption 2 days ago when this happened with my dlink gaming router was that the router developed a problem but now with a new router its still happening. The problem started when I re-enabled the wireless on my gaming router and when I noticed the problem I re-disabled the wireless but the problem persists. A new modem (the DIR-655) did not work...

There is allot of devices connected, which may affect the speed, but I am sure it shouldn't change upon reboot. I literally reboot every hour or 2 during peek periods.

Each and every time I go through the steps to reset the clock, using time server or clone computer time, or manual reset, after the save settings and reboot of the router, i find the router still displays the wrong time, and frequently reverts itself to a time on Feb 22, 2012. Same problem for trying to reset the DST settings, turning automatic time from server on and off, changing the time server polled. Additionally, I have forced the router to factory settings and rebuilt all of my configuration no less than 4 times.
So, since I recently had to trade out the cable modem because Cablevision fried it with their 'system upgrade', I'm also wondering if the same shenanigans also damaged the router.
I have a WBR-1310 D-link and was in setup this morning trying to fix my password cause the old one stopped working. Somehow I changed the password and no longer have access to the settings to change it to one that I can use to log on with my other wireless devices!!! Is there a way I can reset the whole thing? I mean something that makes sense to someone who is new to wireless internetting?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo, after everyone was raving about the 1.35NA version, I downloaded it. As I always do, I disabled my wireless NIC and connected an RJ-45. I saved my config to a .gws file. I uploaded the new firmware. When I went to reload my settings file, it said it was not a valid file. I tried multiple times. I even tried earlier versions of saved config files. Same thing.
So, I figured I'd revert to the 1.34NA firmware it was previously on. It wouldn't take it. So, I used the router config "system" page and chose "restore factory defaults". It didn't work. It still had the 1.35NA. So, I used the router's reset button. I held it in for 10 seconds, saw the system lights all blink in unison. I checked the config page and it was still on 1.35NA.
I initially set it up for static IP, which was a mistake for reasons I probably don't need to go into here. Having recognized my mistake, I've been trying to hard reset it so I can convince it to acquire its IP address by DHCP, but each time I reset it and return to the "First, select your camera" screen in the setup wizard, I'm faced with a single choice: the device as I first set it up for static IP. I don't seem to be able to convince it to give up that erroneous static IP address.I have read the FAQ section on hard reset. I've held down the reset button for a lot longer than 6 seconds while the cam was connected to power and ethernet, and I've watched it go through the sequence of flashing blue reset and WPS lights until it settles down, but this doesn't change the situation, evidently.

Everything appears to be working fine (including my ipv6 tunnel) except for this issue where my long running ssh & database connections are being reset after a period of time.Currently have 2.03NA loaded, tried using 2.07NA but couldn't get ipv6 working correctly with the newer version.

I'll establish a remote control session to their computer, and then I'll reconfigure the router settings. I know how to reconfigure the router just fine.

However, I need to allow DHCP renewal request to pass through from all IP to UDP port 67 to UDP port 68; or else I will have to reboot DIR-825 every 24 hours (which is not fun ). My U-verse 2wire modem is a 3600HGV.

I don't know if this is a Shareport issue or an issue with the DIR-825 disabling the USB port.This happens after there is no PC connected to the router for a number of hours such as overnight. I have 1 laptop and 1 desktop running Win 7 64-bit and 1 laptop running Win 7 32-bit. The desktop is connected directly to the router and the laptops connect via wifi. All PCs work perfectly when the DIR-825 is reset.This isn't a big issue but it's extremely annoying and shouldn't happen. I use a Cisco WAG320 in my office that has similar USB functionality and this never happens.

I have a DIR-655 (HW rev A2) that has worked mostly fine for a long time. Today I decided to do a firmware upgrade, and in preparation I backed up my custom config settings and did a hard reset via the factory reset button on the back of the unit.
Since then, the unit itself has been inaccessible from my computer. If I connect the DIR-655 and a PC with a network cable, the appropriate light goes on on the front of the router, but the client does not lease an IP address from the router and I can't access the router home page at 192.168.0.1.
I have tried the reset button again and also power-cycled multiple times, and I have tried connecting from multiple computers, all with the same unsuccessful results. how to "un-brick" the device?
Is there a way to reset the camera remotely, via the browser interface or a FTP connection? I can't find a "reset camera" button on the web interface...unless I've overlooked it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just changed my internet provider from DSL to cable. When I hooked up the DIR-615 I had some difficulties. At first my computers would all connect to the router but there was no internet connection. I had to download the latest firmware and install it. After the install succeeded, everything seemed to be okay. However, I now occasionally get the message that the connection to the server was reset while the page was loading. Also, the little world symbol on the router constantly flashes at a rapid rate. Before the switch, neither of these two things happened. When I check the download speed it seems fine. The cable modem is an Arris and also handles my telephone service.

After a router push button reset 7 reconfigure, only the windows vista and a samsung tablet will connect. The windows 7 computer sees the router but cannot see the internet. It does connect if hardwired thru the router.

It eventually turns back on again after a while, but the process doesn't stop.Basically, my DIR 655 is connected, hard wired to my boxee. I also have a NAS 323 hard wired to my router. I've had this setup on my boxee, reading all my movies/shows from my NAS without any issues for the past 10 months. Then the firmware from 2 weeks ago on the boxee started to cause my router to reset. I thought it was a hardware router failure, so I bought another of the same model to try that out, same thing happened though. When I rolled back my boxee firmware to the previous version, it no longer causes my router to reset.Now, besides me trying to figure out how to correctly block the boxee from updating on the router. Is there anything I can do on the router to tell it to prevent it from letting the boxee forcing it to reset? I'm on High Speed DSL. My internet provider modem is acting as a bridge to my DIR 655. Basically, I've put my boxee back to my previous firmware, and this doesn't cause my router to reset and disable my internet. But I don't get how/why a firmware update can trigger my router to do this?
Ever since setting up this router it has been giving me problems on my laptop, connected wirelessly. At random intervals, throughout the house, an error saying "Connection was reset" comes up in firefox when browsing the web. I've tried resetting the router twice, and updating my network adapter's(Intel 465AGN) drivers. Neither of these worked. No settings on the router were modified, other than enabling the Qos engine. Signal quality isn't the problem either as it is full at all times. On my other computers, three connected through wireless and one through wired, there have been no problems at all and they perform very well.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've just gotten a DIR-615 and replaced a working linksys G router. I configured it to work with my ipad (wireless N), my laptop-win 7 (N), and my desktop-vista (USB connected N). Everything works ok,. I'm using WPA personal, WPA2only, AES encryption, 3600, 802.11n only, auto 20/40 mhz channel width, invisible.
Here's the problem. As I powered up and shut down the laptop each day, it wouldn't connect to the router. I could see the connection, but windows said it couldn't connect. I had to go and unplug the router, count to 10, and then plug it in, and tell the laptop to connect and then it would connect it would be fine.
I thought it might be a compatibility with the laptop driver, but after powering down the desktop today, I had to do the same power cycle on the router to get the desktop to connect. So then I went and turned off the IPAD and had the same thing happen. 3 for 3.
I'm pretty sure its router settings and not the 3 devices, this never happened with the Linksys router, but I don't know what to change.
One other odd thing, when I view the network in windows, the DIR-615 icon is there (for about 15 secs), and then it disappears (for about 5 secs), and then reappears (15 secs), disappears (5 secs), etc. - almost like its dropping out for 5 secs... I haven't noticed a performance hit, but haven't transfer big files yet.
I had to reset and reboot. I entered the router ISP and went through the 4 step process then rebooted.
My question/problem is now the router is wide open. How do I find page where I can enable the security settings and lock down the router to the outside world?

I recently bought wdr3600 and just trying to configure bridge through WDS configuration. I just enabled WDS and picked my initial wireless router after clicking the Survey button, then save it. After the reboot, I cant seem to ping/access 192.168.0.1 and the wireless SSID cant be seen any longer. I tried doing the reset button for 30secs but looks like nothing is working and not resetting. And I am still getting 169.254.x.x
Does any know what " Last reset from system-reset " means? Is this becouse of a power failure or someone reloading the switch?

Have been thinking about purchasing a 5101 to avoid the $7/mo lease fee, but am not sure if I will just have more issues like this if I do. This thing will drop to .5mbps (sometimes .4, sometimes .7, etc.) when this issue is occurring. Just for contrast, after resetting it, it jumps to 22mbps (we pay for 20). So, what's the deal? I have it tucked under our desk so that we don't have to see it all the time. In order to reset it, I have get under the desk on my back like it's a vehicle and I'm changing the oil.
