I use a modem d-link DWM 152,,at first be detected, was able to browse. connect the modem still keep fit (I forget if it still connect.), I just unplug it. when i plug it in again, the modem is not detected.

I've had my DIR-601 for almost a year now and it's been working near flawlessly until just recently. I have a very simple setup with a desktop PC, router, Time Warner cable modem, and the only device that accesses the router is my Droid phone. I shut my PC down every night. The next day when starting up my PC, there's no internet connection. I haven't fooled around with any router settings, but what I've been doing to re-connect is unplug the cable modem power cord and router power code, wait a minute, then re-plug them back in and it connects right away. Is there something easy that I can do/repair to correct this? Maybe I should check if there are firmware updates?

The first computer always is connected fine whether i unplug the router or modem in any order and replug. i dont know much how to fix this. ive tried some unplugging method once but it only worked until i turned the computer off and back on later. i am also running 2 xboxs with no trouble. i used cisco connect to diagnose problem but it just told me to unplug modem power and tv cable and i did that with no luck.although i have good equipment, the internet is pretty slow.i have the best service of my provider that states it has upto 50 mpbs download speed.i ran the cisco internet speed test and only got a max of 20 download and 5 upload.how could i speed this up?

He gave me the modem, ethernet cat5 cable, telephone rj11 cable and a usb power cable (or adapter god knows ) SO i attached it to win xp system. only the power and usb/pc lights were on. others didnt switch on. the system didnt detect it. i also installed the drivers and still didnt detect it. i have uploaded the image also.

I just bought TP-link wireless N gigabit router (model No. TL-WR1043ND). Everything is working fine except my external hard disk drive connected via usb on the router.I am using Ubuntu 12.10 and I don't know where to find the HDD.
I can see the disc in router settings but I don't know how to access it. Clicking on Open the disk does nothing and following the url file://192.168.1.1/Volume1 results in webpage not found.
I can access the External HDD with windows no problem but how do I access it in Ubuntu?
The wrt400n works fine. Except randomly every day or every other day, laptops cannot connect to the router. Router lights are still on, blinking, etc, no change there. Releasing/renewing IP doesn't work. Turning off wireless radio on laptop and back on doesn't work.Unplugging and replugging in the router DOES work, and laptops can connect to the router again.Router is updated to 1.0.02 firmware, sine I thought that was the problem, but after firmware update, problem is still occurring.Wireless is set to mixed,channel width is auto?

When using just the battery for power the internet will disconnect and reconnect every minute or so. I looked up this problem before and I was told to change the power settings in the control panel, so I did.I went to change battery settings then advanced settings and then changed power savings on wireless device settings to maximum performance. Yet still, I get disconnected every minute when the laptop is unplugged. When it's plugged in it work fine.

View 14 Replies View RelatedWe a Q77 based Jetway JNF9E motherboard, and when we added a TP-Link PCIe network card it was not detected in device manager in windows XP. We tried a Dynamode card with a different chipset and that was also not detected. We then tried a PCIe Firewire card, and that was fine, indicating that the slot itself was OK.We then tried installing Windows 7-64, and that also failed to see either card. We updated the BIOS to the latest version, which had no effect. We then tried another PC with the same motherboard and that also showed the same problem. A USB network adaptor does work, but is not an ideal solution due to space contraints.

So I use the "Diagnose and repair" feature which tells me to either reset the ip address or something or one of my cables is unplugged so I should unplug the modem and router and replug it back it after checking the cables.The resetting the ip address doesn't do jack but if I unplug the router and replug it in, the wi-fi works again...well, until i log off and log back in againI've also tried updating my wifi drivers, run a scan for viruses, and updated all my software. View 2 Replies View Relatedi just bought a Netgear WNDR4000 router due to troubles with my current modem/router combo (D-Link DSL2730-B). The router doesnt have in built modem functionality obviously so I need to set up the modem/router as a dedicated modem.Also should I use the current modem/router as the dedicated modem or an older model i own (I think its a DSL 502T)? Because the current one often drops the internet connection. Don't know if its a problem with the modem functionality or something else. Will the older one serve better since i didn't have any problems with that one or will it be outdated? I only upgraded due it not having wireless capabilities. Otherwise it's fine.Or will I be even better off buying a dedicated modem? I really don't want to spend more money but if this is a far better alternative I guess i will.
EDIT: Ok so found out that I have to put the modem/router in bridge mode in order for this to be possible. However, looking up how to do this lead me to a dead end because i need to fill in some fields that i have no idea how to interpret.

when I connect my DIR-655 to the Motorola SB6141 cable modem I notice that the link speed LED on the cable modem never glows blue indicating a gigabit connection, it only glows amber indicating a lower negotiated speed. I am using a Cat6 cable between the two devices and have also tried a Cat5e cable.
When I try and force the WAN port speed to 1000Mpbs in the router interface the cable modem link speed will not light at all with no connectivity. Only resetting to Auto WAN port speed restores functionality albeit at the lower negotiated speed setting.
I'm running the DIR-655 rev B1 at 2.03NA firmware level.
I did connect the modem directly to my PC that uses an Intel Gigabit ethernet card and still had the lower connection indication (Amber) so it seems that the modem might be faulty.
