I bought a brand-new Inspiron 15R laptop from Dell and the DW1510 Wireless N WI-FI card will only connect at a maximum of 72mbps. I've tried the laptop with two different N certified routers a (D-Link and Belkin). Routers are configured correctly for N speed and within 10 inches of the laptop.
The speed I am experiencing is nowhere near the 300mbps connection speed possible.
I have a modem/software issue when dialing into my ISP. Modem seems to handshake correctly with the ISP, password is accepted, then I get the normal message "Registering the Computer on the Network". This never goes away ( it should in a few seconds) and the machine freezes with no cursor/mouse movement or keyboard. Only way to get out of this is to hold the power button until computer powers down. Reloaded the modem driver. Tried an external USB modem and the same thing happens. Used another computer of the same make and model and it works fine on the same phone line/ISP.

AP's are configured properly. Under the setting in device manager I can see the rate setting for 802.11(b/g), but not n. If this card is not 'n' compatiable why state that it is. Hoping to get an updated driver . My version is 5.10.235.12 1/7/2011.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI own an Inspiron n5110 laptop(Dell) with an Intel(R) Centrino(R) Wireless-N 1030 wireless card. I use Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. I constantly drop internet connection, mainly when downloading and playing games. In the right bottom corner, where my wireless connection signal strenght is showed, I get an yellow triangle with '!' mark in it saying 'Limited access'. When troubleshooting, the only way to get an internet connection again, I get an message 'The default gateway is not available' and it says that it's fixed. after awhile I lose internet connection again and everything repeats. I figured out that it's not from my router or Internet Service Provider. I saw in the forums the option to exchange this card for the 6230 upgraded version but that is not a variant for me because in my country the technicians can at very damage the laptop.
View 7 Replies View RelatedHaving the same problem with a Dell Inspiron Laptop using a belkin pcmcia wireless card. It was working, but has stopped doing so. I was missing some network adapters which I have reinstalled, and the hard wired connection is now working again, but wireless will not get past the acquiring network address phase. I tried the ipconfig /all and it shows my IP address as 0.0.0.0 and the same on the subnet mask. it says the autoconfig is enabled and dhcp is enabled. My HP laptop is connecting to the wireless network just fine.

The Windows says there is a problem with the router, but my housemates have no problem getting into the internet with their Macbooks. I've tried changing the security mode to WPA2 Personal, channel width to 40 MHz only, and 20MHz only. I've changed the network mode to N only. I've updated the drivers on the adapters and ran the update on the E2500 router. I get the same 72Mbps if the laptops are right next to the router. How can I get the connection speed faster?

The first was "The default gateway is not available, the second was Local Area connection doesn't have a valid ip configuration. Here's what Ive tried so far.I tried in safe mode. All the other home computers are connecting from the first shot. (two laptops and another desktop. They much slower computers.At the begining I have re-installed the driver (from DVD and downloaded), but not this is the problem.
The computer has to get a bit warm.When it does not connect, the Dell Test tool DOES NOT SEE (does not appear in the test list) the Broadcom NetLink Gigabite Ethernet card.
I've had my Studio 14 for a few days now and it's working pretty well. I have a NetGear RangeMax 3700 dual band router. The laptop sees my 'g' network but does not see the 'n' network. I see through searching that some other people are having the same problem. I know it has something to do with this laptop as my wife's Latitude right over there on the kitchen table sees both just fine.
View 67 Replies View RelatedI had turned my computer on and I hadn't been on it in a week or 2 because for some reason my computers WiFi connector was not turning on in the back. Usually, if the wifi is turned on, there is a green light flashing in the back which tells me it is picking up or searching for a signal. And once I turned it on, it had started working again. So I played on it a bit and got off. But when I went to turn it on today, it wont pick up any signals. My router is working perfectly fine since I'm typing this on my iPad.

I found that my laptop could connect to 2.4Ghz ('g') network only. It didn't find 5Ghz ('n') network.
I was confused because I thought DW1501 is capable of supporting 5Ghz band.
After I found the old post on Dell Community, I realized I was misinformed by Dell's document a long time ago.
Due to international warranty transfer, I gave China Dell a call and requested for another wireless card that can handle 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz network.
They told me that they can do nothing except sending the replacement for the faulty parts.
I tried to convince them that I was misinformed by document. They asked me to prove where the misinformation is on Dell's website.
I gave them a link of the post I found. They told me that the post on Dell Community is not qualified as a proof.
The only conclusion they can get from the post is "Staff claim that DW1501 is unable to see 5Ghz. That's it."

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell Inspiron 14R running Windows 7 64 bit. I have had my PC from this past November; about 7 months.
I was using my PC, and suddenly, I started to experience wireless problems. I was unable to get onto the internet. Other devices on my wireless network are able to log on to our network, although that is irrelevant because my radio wasn't picking up anything at all, when it always had from that same location. The connection worked fine using an ethernet cable. After the problem occurred, my Targus Bluetooth mouse also stopped working. This is what I have tried:
Going into Network and Sharing Center, disabling my network adapter, and then enabling it again. This usually does the trick. After doing it over 5 times, it never worked.
Doing a simple system restore. I attempted restoring 3 different times to an update within the last week, each of which failed (probably another issue altogether).
Re-installing my WLAN CARD Driver, and then restarting. This didn't solve the problem. Checking the Device Manager. It reported that the wireless card was running properly.Using the DW WLAN CARD Utility. It says under the Link Status tab, after Connection Status, Radio Disabled. I tried right-clicking the icon in my Notification Area, and then clicking Enable Radio. It then shows an alert saying "The WLAN card is still disabled. Use the wireless switch or hotkey to enable it." Pressing Fn + F2, which is also supposed to enable the radio, did nothing, with no action or sign whatsoever from Windows. I also tried running tests under the Diagnostics tab. All hardware tests passed, with the Connection test giving me this alert again: "The WLAN card is still disabled. Use the wireless switch or hotkey to enable it," and then failing. The same thing happened when running the CCX Client diagnostics.
I am trying to find out what Wi-Fi card will work with an inspirion 531S. Tech and sales support on dell sight didn't assist much, just gave me links to a bunch of cards.

However, we just purchased a new dell laptop. the laptop connected but within 5 seconds immediate loses the connection and reconnects, disconnects, etc.. This is continuous. All other devices, 2 other never-before connected laptops and a tablet have all sucessfully connected without issues...only this new dell laptop does it. The laptop connects and stays connected to all other wifi connections we have tried it with (other corporate wifi and home wifi's). Dell has replaced the wireless card to confirm there was not issue with that (which I was confident there wasn't). Our IT contact suggests buying a new $500 router, but that is a little hard for me to accept seeing that only 1 device is having difficulties (his other reason for this was his concern that he couldn't access something like the router's management tool, or something like that). View 3 Replies View RelatedInspiron N5050.Fresh install Win 7 sp1 home premium.I have the Dell drivers disc.when I go through the list of drivers to install, there is one listed for the wireless card for this computer, but it does not have the 'tick' which says the device has been detected.i try to install that driver anyway and I am asked to "Activate Bluetooth Using Wireless Switch". I went here [URL] and then did a search for DW1702, which is the card listed on my customer invoice. From that search I am taken here [URL] which lists 3 kinds of drivers: A01, A02 and A03. I have tried all three. A01 and A03 give up quite quickly. With the A02 the InstallShield Wizard starts up and most of the installation seems to take place and then it gives up. Windows tells me the driver was not installed properly.Whenever there is a problem over drivers, Dell tells us to install the Notebook System Software. There is no NSS on my drivers disc. (It does not come up on the list of drivers to install when the disc is first inserted and is not listed under 'System Utilities'.) Since I can't connect to the internet without at least an ethernet driver installed, how am I supposed to install the NSS first? In any case when I enter my service tag on here or do a search for the N5050, I am given 11 filtered results and 33 'all related drivers' but no NSS.I was charged extra for the drivers disc and it doesn't have what I want. The laptop without a wireless card is useless to me.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Dell Inspiron 1525's hard drive died recently. I bought a new hard drive onine because my warranty expired. I installed the hard drive and a Windows Vista Premium operating system. I previously had Windows Vista Basic.
I tried to install all of my drivers, but neither by ethernet connection or wireless are able to connect. I ran the Intel PROset Wireless diagnostics and the hardware portions fails. The error says driver version does not support Intel PROSet/ Wireless.
The wireless card does not show up in the device manager under network adapters. I still am missing a driver for the network controller but do not know where to fnd it.
When I plug an ethernet cable into the computer directly it says no connectivity and will not light up green. why it will not connect to the internet.

I recently received the blue screen of death on my labtop so I used the system restore cd and wiped the entire hard drive clean. Afterwards I knew to extract the drivers from the drivers and utilities cd. I extraced the wlan card since this is what has been controlling my wireless at school and everywhere else. The little tower icon doesn't appear in my task box on the bottom of the screen nor is it anywhere where I can enable it. The only place I see the driver is in the add/remove folder in the control panel. Furthermore the blue light doesn't appear when I flip the switch to the on position.

I get a "No compatible hardware found" error when I try to load the drivers for the wireless card on my laptop.
I had to reload windows 7, ultimate x64 on my laptop. I've been able to install all of the drivers with the exception of the wireless card.
I've tried to load the R258276 driver for the broadcom chip as specified in my download with the Dell driver utility and dell system detect. This worked previously with the same os. I've also installed and ran Dell Support Center, PC check and System Detect.
My order lists the following wireless card:
WHDPC 1 Card, Wireless, Half Mini-Card, DW1501, 4313
I have an unknown device and a Network Controller flagged in "Other devices" in Windows Device Manager. I've deleted these and reran hardware detect and they both show of again as not having drivers installed. Windows update nor windows driver update locates valid drivers. I searched the forums and found a few links to other sources of he R258276 drivers, but got the same error msg.
I recently bought a new Dell Inspiron 7600 pc running on windows 7 home premium and to enable access to our wireless internet I installed a Realtek 8185 wireless pci adaptor. It has worked fine (although not without the occasional blip) but recently it has stopped working. I could connect to our wireless network but connection came with a small exclamation mark on the wireless connection icon in the system tray. I tried reinstalling the most up to date drivers I could find on the realtek download website and this has removed the problem of the exclamation mark with the wireless connection claiming it now has internet access. However the internet is now so slow (vastly slower than before these problems began) I get timed out errors whenever I try to access any web pages. I have ruled out the router being an issue as my two housemates' computers are working just fine.

The laptop could detect the card and I could connect to the internet until when I downgraded to windows XP service pack 3, and then it could not detect the card anymore. There are different kinds and all I know about my card is it's "integrated 10/100 network card and modem". But I don't see this specific driver. For the wirelss card, I know exactly what it is and it works fine.(Intel (R) Pro/Wireless 2100 LAN miniPCI Adapter) But not the integrated 10/100 Port.
