My laptop (Dell Latitude D630) suddenly stopped "seeing" my wireless network. The Windows diagnostic seems to imply that I should "turn on" my wireless card. However, when I check the hardware settings in the control panel, it says it is working properly.
View 4 RepliesSo I dug my old Latitude D630 out from the attic, turned it on, and it still works, and it actually connected to my router! However, only the wireless connects, not the wired connection. When I plug an ethernet cable in, the computer does not recognize the cable, and tells me a cable is unplugged...which of course it isn't.

My ethernet connection device does not seem to be working. I already tried to trouble shoot it, but nothing worked. First, I have checked that the ethernet cable, and internet port are working properly. Then, i have looked in the device manager, and it indicates that my wired connection device are detected and enabled. However, when I connect a network cable to the ethernet jack on my laptop, there is no network light showing up. I have also updated the BIOS and wired network driver.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI switched my Dell Latitude D630 on yesterday morning and the WiFi light wasn't lit, and I am unable to connect to any network. I'm completely baffled why this has happened. I was using it the previous night, streaming some music on Spotify, then I turned it off as normal, and when I tried using the internet the next day...nothing. The bluetooth light is lit as normal but the WiFi light stays off, and I've tried turning the external switch on/off to no avail.

I cannot utilize my Ethernet connection when my Dell Latitude D630 is connected to a docking station. I have tried this on two different docking stations. I also have another Dell laptop that I have used in the one of the same docking stations and the ethernet connection is fine. View 3 Replies View RelatedMy Toshiba Satellite Pro laptop has suddenly stopped detecting my wireless network. IT detects every other network in the area but mine. Other computers in the house have no problem detecting and connecting.Wireless is enabled, it happens no matter how close or far from the router. The network is set to broadcast the ssid, etc. I have not changed any settings on my laptop or router, this has suddenly started happening. Have updated drivers to no effect.Occasionally, the network pops up when I re-start the laptop. Rarely works and sometimes it will detect the network, then fail to connect, then the network can't be detected at all.

I checked into a hotel and just cannot find the wifi network on this laptop..IT is a named network and yet all i see is an unnamed network on my list of networks found. My blackberry device can easily locate the network..but the laptop simply refuses. I have tried restarting, playing around with the advanced propoerties of the wifi adapter but all in vain. I can use the office wifi ont he same laptop without any issue..but not in my hotel.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was given a dell latitude cpx laptop running windows xp recently with wireless b network adapter. My modem/router is a 2wire gateway DSL . When I brought the laptop home, it did not connect to my wireless network. It was able to find my ssid though, and the signal was weak even if I was close to the modem/router. Anway, someone suggested I switch from WPA to WEP encryption because old network adapters can only detect wep encryption ( or something like that) . So I did, and still no internet connection. i tried to ping yahoo.com and still not working. My DNS and Ip adress are set to automatic and still no internet. This laptop doesn't have an LAN port, so i guess it connects through internet wirelessly only. Someone also suggested i update my drivers for wireless adapter but i don't have the original disc that came along with it. This laptop was able to connect without problem before from a different network but not mine like a week ago.. I also have2 other laptops within this network and I never had a problem with it connecting wirelessly.

There are two available wifi connections and it will not connect to either. I have followed my university's instructions to connect to the internet but no good. When I run troubleshooter the error says "unable to configure ip address" or something along those lines. I have reinstalled the network adapter, changed firewall setting. My laptop simply decided to stop connecting to my wireless network.I'm at a loss as to why and what to do. All other devices in my house are getting a perfect signal from the network but my computer either can't find it, or only has 1 green bar and says it cannot connect. I've tried a system restore, I've tried to troubleshoot on my computer and can't figure it out. The weird thing is it is picking up other wireless signals fine (like my neighbors, ect) but just not my home one. My dlink dir 628 wireless router suddenly stopped working yesterday. If I plug the ethernet cable directly into my computer and the internet works. I see the wireless profile in the options for the wireless internet, but when I try to connect, it is unable to do so.
I've tried resetting the router (using the button on the device) witand reinstalling the router (using the CD), but still not working. Also have tried turning off the modem, router, and restarting my computer.
I have a Latitude D810. recently unable to get connection on wireless or wired. Lights are on on port plug.I can see the network, when I run troubleshooter on the Proset/Wireless Wifi Connection utility It says the wireless adaptor failed to get IP address and could be due to authentication failure with the network, incorrect wireless security passwords or because of DHCP server malfunction.I did the passwords, checked the router, all is ok there. My new computer works fine on this wireless network as well as my wired desktop. I suspect this happened as a result of a security change that windows XP or whatever security soft ware that's in there did, but cannot figure out how to undo or reset this.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI did a custom reinstall on my dell latitude e5420 laptop using dell windows 7professional 64bit sp1dvd and now my wireless network is not working. I tried turning the switch on and off, restarted my laptop, and I also went to dell suport and downloaded all the recomended drivers and it still doesnt work.
I went to device manager and noticed that under "other devices" there is a yellow exclamation mark on the network controller.
laptop not finding any wireless network Suddenly....and the hardware(dell wireless 1702 802.11b/g/n) not recognized suddenly it was working then start to lose signal sometimes then stopped ....i removed the driver software and re-install but nothing changed.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy M20 Valet Plus stopped working suddenly last night. Now no power lights will come on and it now longer transmitts as a connection point . No apparent sign that it's alive. I've owned it troublefree for just over a year, but it is out of warranty. Any way to tell if there is hope of reviving it or if I'm just out of luck? Nothing happened at my end to cause this -- no power interruptions or other odd occurrences.
