I have a Latitude E6400 running Windows 7. Yesterday I was able to access the Internet with no problem. Today, I show that I have established a network connection with my Netgear router but I have no Internet connection. My wife has a Toshiba laptop and she has an Internet connection over the same network so the issue must be with my machine.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWith a clean install of Windows 8 64-bit...If I boot the laptop with the Ethernet cable disconnected, I will still get "media disconnected" from ipconfig if I then connect the Ethernet cable after login. The Ethernet connection comes back to life if I put the laptop to sleep and then wake it up, but it will go back to "media disconnected" state again if I unplug and replug the network cable. The laptop has the latest BIOS from Dell from this model (A32 -- and has been reset to the factory settings), but I'm wondering if any of the 21 (!) Advanced driver properties need to be toggled to something else for this particular model of Ethernet card to function. The driver version is 10.1.10.1 (dated 6/25/2012) as installed by Windows 8 64-bit.(I tried "updating" to the 10.1.12.1 driver from Dell's site -- for Windows 7 -- but that one is dated 3/23/2011, oddly enough, and cut down the number of Advance options to 6… -- and it still has the same problem -- Ethernet does not automatically reconnect if I unplug and replug the cable…)Might this be something I need to flip in the BIOS for this model?
I have a Latitude D630 -- running the same build of Windows 8 32-bit (but a different Ethernet adaptor, obviously) -- that does not have this problem. So it's not specifically a Windows 8 issue -- but an issue with the specific Ethernet card.
So i have a dell latitude e6400 laptop running windows XP. Now whenever I connect to my home wireless network, it will connect fine but randomly it will stop sending or receiving data. Therefore i cannot connect to any websites and i get a connection error. I check my connection though and it is running through an excellent connection.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was given a dell latitude cpx laptop running windows xp recently with wireless b network adapter. My modem/router is a 2wire gateway DSL . When I brought the laptop home, it did not connect to my wireless network. It was able to find my ssid though, and the signal was weak even if I was close to the modem/router. Anway, someone suggested I switch from WPA to WEP encryption because old network adapters can only detect wep encryption ( or something like that) . So I did, and still no internet connection. i tried to ping yahoo.com and still not working. My DNS and Ip adress are set to automatic and still no internet. This laptop doesn't have an LAN port, so i guess it connects through internet wirelessly only. Someone also suggested i update my drivers for wireless adapter but i don't have the original disc that came along with it. This laptop was able to connect without problem before from a different network but not mine like a week ago.. I also have2 other laptops within this network and I never had a problem with it connecting wirelessly.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Latitude E6400 that I had to rebuild due to a hard drive failure, with a Dell 1510 WLAN card installed. Upon reinstalling the Dell WLAN Card Utility however, I now receive the following prompt every time I log into my machine:“Reminder: The Dell Wireless WLAN Card is still disabled. Slide the Wireless ON/OFF switch to enable it.”
I am able to connect to wireless networks without any issues, and when enabled it works great. I do however like to keep my wireless radio off when I am not using it. I certainly don’t need the software to tell me that my WLAN card is disabled when I already know that it is. How do I disable this message from coming up each time I log in? I don’t see any options in the software to simply disable reminders, however I don’t want to disable the software from loading altogether.

I finally moved on from my Dell Latitude, I purchased a Lenovo today.Just set up Windows 7 on it, but I am having a real problem...I have looked everywhere on the Internet for a fix and can't seem to find it.I am trying to connect to my home network, belkin54g, but am being told "No Internet access." Under Device Manager, I have two network adapters listed, a Broadcom 802.11n Network Adapter and a Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller. My network is set up as such...My dad's Mac has the router/modem wired to it, and every other computer connects wirelessly. MY connection is set up as a Windows 7 "Home" network. When hovering over the wireless icon thing at the bottom right of the screen, it gives the network name in bold, then No Internet access in italics right below. I am connected to the home network for sure though, because when I view devices on this network, I see my brothers laptop listed. Most recently I tried to do a Winsock reset from the Command Prompt, but it didn't work.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell Latitude E6420. My computer had Windows 7 and I re-imaged it with Windows 7 (because of a procedure for work, something about removing myself from their network.. I was just following the directions I had been given). Since the re-image, I cannot connect to the internet whatsoever. With a cable or wirelessly. My computer recognized the wireless networks I had at my house before the re-image, but there is no longer a wireless adapter even under my "network adapters." Moreover, every single "Other device" has a yellow exclamation point next to it. I cannot connect to any internet at all to remedy the problem and am at a loss for what to do.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Dell Latitude D600 recently stopped accessing the internet, even though I have a strong wireless signal and connection. I have had the laptop for 3 months now with no problems up to this point. I have followed some of the troubleshooting suggestions from other posts, but to no avail. My ipconfig looks like it should be right, and I can post that upon request. The Intel Pro/wireless LAN 2100 3A Mini PCI Adapter status says it is working properly, and the drivers are up to date

View 1 Replies View RelatedI had to reformat a Dell Latitude D830 with XP Pro SP2 due to a trojan. After XP was reinstalled, I inserted the cds which contain the drivers and such for my system. I installed the drivers and utilities, but for some reason when I plug my ethernet cable into the laptop, it says there is "Little or No Connectivity". I plugged the same ethernet cord into the desktop I am currently using, and it works just fine. The connection comes straight from the wall to the computer with no router or modem involved.

I've tried downloading software from Dell's web site, I bought (and returned) and USB to Ethernet cable, only to find out that it was a model ahead of what this machine needs.I've asked local repair place (Microcenter) what it might be, but they'll only tell me after I pay $70 just to open it up.Another repair guy said that it is probably the motherboard and it wasn't worth fixing. View 3 Replies View RelatedI just recently purchased a dell latitude E6400 laptop and I did a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit on it, not an upgrade. I also installed service pack 1 right after the OS install. My problem is I cannot find a single driver that allows my WiFi card/connection to show up in Windows. I have been browsing the internet like a fiend and cannot find a single driver or solution anywhere for this. Every install or driver I try either shows an error saying "incompatable" or just does not fix the issue. All I want is my WiFi card to work, and dell did not have any drivers that worked off of its support site even when I put in my service tag number. compatable driver for the WiFi card for windows 7 64bit? Or steer me in the right direction to get the WiFi working on my laptop?
