how do i start the inbuilt wireless on my 660s ? i try using hotspot but i get no internet flow though it shows on and if i try setting it up through windows networks it doesnt detect any router.
View 6 RepliesI have upgraded from Win 7 to Win 8 recently at my new Dell PC.I have upgraded my PC Drivers and get the latest Win8 update on line.My ISP has came up with a latest version of 4G Connection Manager (software) to allow me to login to the Wireless Network.I am using a small pen like modem called Dongle.
The performance of the new Connection Manager is uncertain, sometime I can logon to the network easily after starting, but sometime I don't.The searching for the network only last for 3 seconds and could not proceed further to detect and connect to the network.The present sucessful rate is about 50%.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a couple of Ethernet cables, however a lot of them have their latches broken off but that hasn't stopped my laptop from working but it isn't just that when i plug in a Ethernet cord with the latch into the port of the 660s no lights show up, plus when i put in another cable, i guess some regular cord , i do get lights but that doesn't connect me to the internet...and i am just confused.
So what i am trying to say is: Is there something wrong with the port?
Do I need to change my Ethernet Cable?
Or is there something else completely wrong that i am not seeing?
I just got a new Inspiron 660s last week and have been having some unusual connectivity issues with it. After suffering for a day or so with a painfully slow wireless connection (the status showed the signal was "excellent" but the speed of downloads or loading web pages was dreadful; meanwhile my older Inspiron Mini in roughly the same location blazes along and has for years with no problems), I decided to try just going with a wired connection. This fixed the speed issue to say the least, but now the connection drops for a few seconds every five minutes or so, then immediately reconnects. If I were just web-surfing, it wouldn't impact me all that much, but the activities I enjoy, like playing games online and streaming music, require a signal that doesn't keep cutting out. I've tried updating the drivers, but I'm told I have the most up-to-date drivers. I've tried unchecking the power-saving options and I've tried unchecking IPv6 and just about every other solution I've come across in my web searches, but nothing works. When I get home from work this evening I may try uninstalling and reinstalling the device drivers. Barring that, I may just go pick up a USB wireless adapter-- I used a cheap Belkin one in the same location on an old Dimension desktop years ago and it worked great-- and see if that works.

The wifi bar varies between 3 and 1, whereas on my laptop it is consistently 5, and Logmein keeps dropping out when I connect to the 660s. The wifi card is a Dell 1506. I have installed the latest drivers. I have tried changing the channel on the router but it didnt make a difference.

Is it possible to use the inbuilt 4 port switch on a Cisco 887VA ADSL router for inter Vlan routing? My plan is to configure port FA0 - 2 as Vlan 1 (default) 192.168.0.254/24 and port FA3 as Vlan 2 192.168.4.254/30. My SIP server will sit on Vlan 2 192.168.4.253/30 however remote Wan users coming through other Cisco 888 routers connected to the 887 will need to access Vlan 2 from Vlan 1, is this possible?

When I try and troubleshoot it shows me that the Broadcom 802.11 Multiband Network Adapter has a Code 10 error and says the "device cannot start." I have tried uninstalling and updating the driver, but it just continues to tell me that it has the best driver every-time I try and update it.If I plug the laptop in to the router with a wired connection it works just fine, so it is obviously an issue with the wireless adapter.what I should do in order to get this to take a new driver so it works again?

I have a Toshiba Equium A200,(from new some time back) however, i have had it updated with new 500mb drive etc! I also some time back installed Windows 7 home. At first all was well, then a few months ago i noticed (upon star-up) that the network adapter was not connecting to my Belkin router? The Network & sharing centre tells me that it is connected, although the icon on the bottom toolbar shows a yellow triangle & reads No Internet connection? I have to go through the same process evrytime to get connected, which usually takes approx. 5 mins That is to follow the Network/share centre's troublshooting? View 3 Replies View RelatedMy wireless connection takes about 5 minutes to actually work once I reboot my windows computer. Once I start it, the wireless indicator in the bottom right corner of the screen shows that it is loading, but then freezes and doesn't let me use most applications on my computer. Then all of a sudden it will so a wireless signal and connection and everything works just fine. On the other hand, when I use the function key on my keyboard that turns off the wireless card before I restart my computer, the wireless stays off when I reboot. Then I turn it back on using the function keys and my wireless will connect automatically. Why is it that the wireless card/connection won't start up quickly if I just leave it on like people always do normally? Why is it that I have to toggle it on/off all the time for it to work connect quickly?

The orange light turns blue. Even though the light indicates that my wireless is on, I have to go to device manager>networking>802.11n>advanced then activate my radio for my laptop to pick up the wireless signals. The problem is that I have to do this every time I turn on my laptop, and its getting quite repetitive.

I've got a WUSB600N (old squarish v.1 hardware) attached to this PC via the extender cable and until recently it had been working perfectly.Now, however, something has gone drastically wrong with the setup somehow, because every time I shut down or restart the PC, the adapter refuses to start back up again when the PC is brought back up.The Linksys Network Monitor starts automatically on boot and appears in the systray but the icon is grayed out. If I check the Device Manager listing for the adapter under the system control panel, the adapter is listed there but with a yellow exclamation mark. If I check the properties of the adapter it says "This device cannot start. (Code 10)". If I remove and reinsert the adapter it simply disappears from the list and then reappears, again with the yellow exclamation mark.
If I uninstall the adapter completely (again, through the Device Manager), it uninstalls with no issues. When I reinsert the adapter, it detects it, says "Found new hardware", then after a moment or two says "A problem occurred during hardware installation. Your new hardware may not work properly".
If I uninstall the adapter AND the Linksys Network Monitor software, then reinstall the software and reinsert the adapter, it is properly detected, completes setup and connects successfully to my wireless network. And then stops working again as soon as I reboot the PC.
I'm using the latest driver and software monitor from the Linksys site, the 1.01 version.I'm considering removing the adapter and software and reinstalling JUST the adapter from the drivers, to see if that works. But it's been working fine till now so I'm at a loss to explain what's going on.
any success using the stand on a WAP4410N? I have not been able to get them to snap into place as described in the Quick Start Guide.
Seems to be an extremely crude and very poorly implemented design. They fall off and the WAP frequently falls over. I expected much better from Cisco given the price.
I recently acquired an E4200 Linksys router.Is it possible to connect to it using telnet (from LAN)? For example I would like to start a ping command directly from the router.I tried to telnet using command line shell from Windows and it failed to connect on port 23.

I made a big mistake and updated my EA6500 with the wrong firmware.I selected "ver.1.1.38.149770" which I shouldn't have done since it's for the the EA6700 which i read aftwerwards....how stupid can one be Anyway, the device is not started up as it should.I'm able to use it as a cabled router but it's not sending out any wireless signal and the led light is blinking.A factory reset obviously didn't work since the firmware was wrong.So, my question is if it's possible to revert to an older firmware using the USB port?Or for example push a firmware using an ADB command if it's possible to connect using a cable?Or in some other way?

The computer will say "Connected, No Internet Access" In order to fix it I have to unplug the router and then plug it back in. This happens to any computer that tries to get online from a cold start-up. The router must always be unplugged, then plugged back in, then it will have internet access (and will generally maintain it throughout the session and even if the computer is restarted, i.e. warm boot). I have downloaded the latest firmware uprade.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI disabled my Intel PWLA8391GT because i wanted to test the onboard network, was not happy with the onboard network so i tried to switch back by enabling the drivers... well it then had a little yellow triangle with a ! in the middle it then told me that it could not start... I then restarted my computer and when i started it was in the unknow as pci device i then installed the drivers manually and it ran into the problem again..
