Dell :: Xps 12 Wi-Fi Not Staying Connected

I have just bought my xps 12 in the last week. I was able to connect to the internet and hold a connection.

Then I came home to my apartment which provides wifi free to the building and i cannot stay connected and sometimes cannot even connect. I do not have access to the router but other devices using the wifi here are able to hold a connection. The network is a public one btw (don't know if it matters)

I have my power set to max performance for network connectivity and like i said this computer is less than a week old.
