My issue is that a file that is, say 700 kilobytes gets transmitted to the spooler as several megabytes. As a result when I print a file it runs through all of the paper in the tray. If there is enough paper loaded it will eventually print the file. Somewhere in the middle it will print several pages of garbage.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am trying to protect the computing assets on a perimeter firewalled / protected LAN from visiting laptops while still permitting the laptops wifi internet access and printing priviledges on the LAN's networked HP printer To do that I was thinking of setting up a computer as a dedicated firewall with 3 NICs (external internet, internal LAN and a DMZ for a Guest wifi router for use by the visiting laptops). (Will probably use free Untangle Firewall software software or such on the dedicated firewall computer). What I can't figure out is the firewall's topology, IP ranges and rules / forwarding that would permit such laptop operation.I would think it would be a common need for small offices but can't find much material on the subject.I do understand that such would slightly weaken the firewall but feel that I would gain more security overall.

While hardwired, I added the printer to my laptop. When I am at the office, either wired or wirelessly, I can print to the printer. Everything worked as usual afterwards, until I found out I could no longer print on my printer. I can access the printers web interface through the ip adress, change settings and such through the browser, but the printer has offline status in windows and print jobs never leaves the print queue in windows. I tried deleting the printer in windows (tried both windows 7 and 8) to reinstall it.

He was wondering if it is possible to setup the printer so that it could be printed to from over the internet. After I reserved a DHCP IP address for the printer, changed 'admin' and 'user' passwords, and disabled some protocols, I made sure IPP was enabled and that port 631 (TCP) was forwarded on my DD-WRT router.
I added the printer as my external IP address [URL] in Windows, selected the correct driver as provided by Windows Updates, and attempted to send a test page without success. This would be my first time trying to setup a printer for over-the-Internet printing (aka IPP).what I could do to try get this to work?

View 1 Replies View RelatedAn issue that we have run into is that on some of the machines, black areas appear over the screen at random times. These black areas disappear when the users mouse over and return when the mouse is moved back. The areas are usually small (about 30 pixels wide) and we have had to log the users off and on again. The machines that users are using are Thin Clients (HP and Wyse) and it seems to happen when certain programs are in use (Sage).

I have spent more nights on the phone with ATT without resolution and refuse to call again. An ATT tech has come to our house twice, once to check the outside line and to look inside too. Signal to house is always fine.We bought the 2Wire 2701HG-B since ATT said that our problem was we were running a modem and seperate router. We even sent the PS3 out for service thinking it was the problem. Yet here we are again with a red signal in the game.On the modem, the ethernet and wireless flash VERY rapidly, its more like a strobe than a flash. The internet and dsl lights are solid. We are considering going to cable from DSL.

I have completely uninstalled the printer with level 3 uninstall. Downloaded the latest driver from HP website. Went through the wireless network connection wizard (a dozen times) and the printer says it is connected to the network with no problem. Ran the Network Configuration, lists an IP address, excellent connection, no problems. But on installing the driver, the computer absolutely cannot see the printer. Tried entering the IP address, creating a new port directly to the IP address. Nothing. Tried pinging from the computer--nothing. Cannot bring up the printer's IP address on the browser. Disabled the firewall and tried that--nothing. Tried going back and connecting with ethernet cable directly to the router instead. Still cannot see the printer. I had this working once, and then had a virus and had to reinstall Windows 7. There was a trick to getting this to work, and I cannot remember it. Of course, the printer is out of warrantee so HP will not assist, even by email. The only way I have been able to get it to install is with USB, which is pretty darned inconvenient.

opening ports for multiple xbox 360's (Black Ops is what we are trying to play).
One thing I do know is that when I tried portforward.com's walk-thru for port forwarding, when I enter the ports into the dir-655 port-forward menu, I can no longer connect to Black Ops at all, it says servers are down (WHICH THEY ARE NOT I CHECKED).
Does this board supports DirectIO to PCIe devices? I have one, and there is an option in the BIOS for IOMMU (disabled or 64mb) which dosent seem relevant? But ESXi dosent see support for pass through.
