HP Photosmart 7150 - Mac File Won't Print Properly On Windows 7 Networked Printer
Apr 16, 2011I have an HP Photosmart 7150 networked on a Win7 PC. I followed the below directions to set up the share on my Mac with SnowLeopard. My issue is that a file that is, say 700 kilobytes gets transmitted to the spooler as several megabytes. As a result when I print a file it runs through all of the paper in the tray. If there is enough paper loaded it will eventually print the file. Somewhere in the middle it will print several pages of garbage.
Make sure your printer is on and connected to the USB port on the router.In OS X go to System Preferences.Click on Print & Fax.Click the lock (to unlock) to make changes. Enter your password if you need to.Click on the plus (+) sign at the left to add a printer.In Leopard/Snow Leopard click on the IP tab.In the Protocol drop down, select HP JetDirect - Socket.In the Address drop down, type the IP Address of your printer (192.168.1.10)Leave Queue blank.
Give a descriptive name [Network Printer].Give a descriptive location.In the Print Using drop down either select your driver or choose the "select a driver to use" option.Choose the appropriate driver for your printer.Press OK and then click Add.

I have it connected to a machine running MS Vista and it works there with no problems at all.The printer even prints from my machine running Windows 7 with no roblems whatsoever.The issue is with my machine running MS XP. It loads fine on the XP workstation, but I can't even to recognize the device and the installation scripts are terminated.

Jun 16, 20113 Computers 2 using vista - 1 using XP. Printer is a HP 2727nf. Will work for a couple of jobs then receives an error code and will not print anymore for any computer. Only a hard reset of turning the printer off and clearing out the queue will print the job that was getting stuck. Wondering if anything can be done so error code won't show up and we can get this printer to run smooth again. PS we have another HP printer that works fine on the network.

Dec 18, 2012I have a small network of computers and printers in my tax office and consist of three computers running in window xp professional, one computer is designated as the server workstation and the c drive is the share drive and the other two work stations are mapped to the share drive c on the server workstation . so i am using peer to peer networking and these three computers are connected by a seven port router and two other printer are attached to the router also. i am having a problem printing from the computers to these printers, one is a hp laserjet 4200 and another is a hp laserjet all in one 3055.

So the two workstation and the server workstation have the printer software on the C drive of each computer but for some reason it could not find the printers on the network. Dec 20, 2011The printer, EPSON SX515W Series, is connected to the old computer, plugged in. The other laptops were not connected to the printer and would print as wireless. However now only the old computer prints directly to the printer, the other laptops fail to print it says that the laptop has the EPSON printer as it's default printer yet when ever I try to print, an exclamation mark in yellow triangle appears on the icon, in the control panel>printer section. Troubleshoot does not fix the problem either.The other problem is I can't remember how this was set up as my dad did it, and he will kill me if I don't fix it back. Also the old computer is different to the laptops. Old computer has Windows XP, and the laptops are vista.

Home Network :: Can't Print To Wireless Printer From Ethernet Connected PC
Mar 1, 2011I am currently having a problem connecting a hardlined (ethernet connected) PC to a wireless printer. I want to know first of all if this is even possible. If so, how can I make this work? I know just enough about networking to be dangerous, but not enough to see what I am doing wrong. My network structure is as follows:
a 2Wire wireless modem/router provided by my ISP. a win xp laptop connected wirelessly a vista laptop connected wirelessly a win xp pc connected via the 2Wire ethernet port a Lexmark 4530 printer with wireless adapter connected wirelessly wireless config is WPA-personal (TKIP)
The laptops are able to print to the printer, but that is only because I used the CD for the printer to setup the wireless printing. When I look at the network neighborhood on both laptops, the printer does not appear. This leads me to believe that the printer is not connected to the network, the laptops have just created a printer connection (the port designation leads me to believe this as it just shows Lexmark 3500_4500 and not an actual address). The hardlined PC can connect to the internet, but is not visible to either of the PC's. When I try to type in the IP address listed on the printers config page, it doesn't see it. I can ping it, but can't connect. I think my problem is in the connection of the wireless printer. I can see it in the connection screen of the 2Wire status page, but I have a funny feeling it isn't configured properly. There appears to be no way to configure the printer outside of using their "wireless connection utility wizard" on the CD.
There is one other twist to this, I have a Dlink DGL4300 wireless gaming router that I use for my XBOX and to give me additional hardline ports for other things. I don't have it connected right now (my box is out of commission waiting on parts), but I did have it connected behind the 2Wire before without any problems. I would like for it to remain this way once I have the printing problem resolved. I am using DHCP right now with auto assigned IPs, but I can reconfigure the network to whatever will allow me to get this to work properly.

Mar 2, 2012I recently upgraded my d-link router DI-524 for Netgear N600 WNDR3700v3 and every component (wired or wireless) is working except network printer. I have it wired directly to the router and all pcs on the home network can see it, however when i select to do a test print, nothing prints to the printer and i get error. I had this setup using the d-link router with both the printer and the XP PC wired directly to the router and using the XP PC as a network pc sharing the printer to other pcs (Vista / Windows 7) on the home network.The printer is a Toshiba e-studio 160 series.. I re-added the print drivers for XP and still not able to print. Is there anything else I can try?

Mar 11, 2011Connected our Brother MFC-8820D printer/scanner/fax directly to one of the 4 Ethernet ports on the back of the DIR-655 in our new install with this router, and all computers can print to it, whether connected via an Ethernet cable or via wireless, but none of the printers can scan. We just get an error message. Scanner driver is installed on all computers. Same printer worked fine via Ethernet on a Windows small business server for printing and scanning. Windows server no longer used or connected. Only DIR-655 as we are dumbing down and getting rid of our Windows server and have gone to a NAS solution connected to the DIR-655.
What can we do to make the scanning work on our Multifunction printer?

Jul 20, 2011New Win-7 machine set up. I used the printer set-up wizard to install a networked printer in the new machine with absolutely no problem. Proved it would print from that machine.Now, I get a call informing me that her old XP machine, which had been printing to the network printer with no problems, will no longer print.Documents go into the print queue, but they don't get printed.No error messages show up.I did some messing around via remote access, and finally removed the printer with the intention of reinstalling it.Scanning for network printers turned up several redundant instances of the same printer with different names. Some are identified as "invalid" some a "access denied". Bottom line. I can't get any of the selections to install.On the Win-7 machine I did find a window that indicated that the printer is designated as being shared, but I didn't explicitly set it for sharing when I installed it. Also, I somehow got to a window that told me that for printers that were to be shared with other versions of windows I could optionally install drivers to support such machines. Didn't have the driver disk handy and took the window down. Now I can't even find it again.I need sorting this all out.Part of the problem is that out there in "network land" there are redundant remnants of previous installations that are being remembered inappropriately.

I have an HP L7590 printer I'm trying to hook up to my wife's computer so she can print from it. Her desktop computer and the printer are in the same room and I know I should probably just get a long usb cable and hook it up to her Vista machine when she needs to print but I've been trying to network it so she can just print easily. I have the Ethernet cable running from the printer to the Motorola SBG6580 modem. The modem is hard wired directly to her desktop and I just use my laptop wireless. I have Win7 on my laptop. I've configured all the network connections and we are sharing. Her desktop does see the printer both wirelessly and stand alone connected. I've tried to connect both ways but no joy. I've even been able to do a test print from her machine but that's all it will print for some reason. It looks as if it will run the print and it shows the printer icon in her taskbar but it won't print.
