Jul 15, 2011I have had this same problem. When I clicked to connect on the wireless router with a new computer, instead of asking for the password (as most routers would) it asks for the PIN. The it takes me through to a strange page where it asks me to enter the name of the network and suggests the name of my computer as the name of the network. Once I chose a name it then connected locally buy not to the Internet and then disconnected my other computer from the Internet too. I tried thecomputerguy's suggestion but when I click on Wi-Fi Protected Set Up" it asks me for a password before I can access custom settings. It then won't accept the router password i had originally created, the pin or any of the other codes on the bottom of the router.It was weird-almost as if entering the router pin from my new computer overwrite the previous settings. The router has an installation cd which I didn't use when trying to connect the new computer-not sure if this has caused the problem?

Jun 1, 2012I am trying to set up a new Belkin modem/router.I have Internet on all three computers over both ethernet and wireless, but no local network. I think the problem may be IP addresses, but I cannot solve it.The LAN settings in the router now are:
DHCP (.) On
IP Pooling Start 192.168.2.2
IP Pooling End 192.168.2.100
Lease time: forever
LAN/DHCP Client List is empty.With the previous modem the IP addresses of the machines were from 192.168.1.2 upwards, but the new modem considers this range invalid.(This isn't specifically an XP problem as one of the machines is Window-7).
FTP Not Working With Belkin Router?
Jan 21, 2011I am attempting to upload some files to my school server will Filezilla. It worked the very first time I attempted to do this. A box popped up and read something like, " The key is unknown, this may not be the computer you think it is", there was a check box asking to approve this server and save the key. I ticked this box and everything was fine, it was connected. I disconnected from the server and went back an hour later to upload something and got this message when attempting to connect, "server has unexpectedly closed network connection", then, "unable to connect". I get it every single time I try to do this from home. However, I have been able to connect everywhere else but my house. I can connect with the same computer from my friends wireless at his house, and from the wireless at work, all from the same computer that will not connect at home. I have also tried different operating system, Ubuntu, and nothing same error message. I have reinstalled the program, and tried other programs,,nothing. I have also deleted that key in the registry, from the check box earlier. At home it does not have that pop up saying " the key is unknown" anymore, even after deleting the key. Yet it does from all the other locations. I do not check it from anywhere else from fear that this will happen everywhere and then I can use it at all. The only difference I can see in these situations is my router, as my friend uses the same ISP, and the same computer was used from each location.
