Freshly Build Gaming Desktop Asus P8z77-v MOBO No Internet
Jun 28, 2012
I finished building my pc, i booted it up installed windows. Then i installed my drivers of my mobo like i'm supossed to, however my internet wont turn on/detect anything.i am however conected to the internet on my iphone and my laptop, i reinstalled my os/ reinstalled all drivers..
if there is a stable or if the current website offered version of DDWRT is stable and working good on Asus Rt-N66U router?
I really want to work with some of the features like VLAN etc... on this firmware. I am no stranger to the software but I want to be sure I am not going to burn up my router or cause it to frag due to incomplete software
I need a router for gaming on my Xbox 360. When gaming I use a wired connection. All my heavy dl/streaming on my laptop will be wired as well. When I'm gaming no other traffic is on the network, meaning my laptop is turned off. The only time I use my laptop wireless is for browsing when I'm not close enough to the router and modem to go wired.
I was thinking of getting the ASUS RT-N66U. I'm fine with the price if I can't find a quality, reliable router that would meet my needs for less.
I take my ASUS G53SW laptop and play games on steam. My problem is that my wireless connection is so slow and I am limited to single player only games, I get bored after awhile and would rather play some online games. While trying to update a patch for League of Legends I was getting a whopping 5-7 Kbps download rate. If I try playing an FPS such as Counter strike, or left 4 dead I can join the game fine, but then my ping skyrockets into the 500+ range.
I have recently purchased an asus rt-n66u dual band gigabit router. What are the best settings for wireless gaming? The wireless adaptor I'm using is an asus usb-n53 dual band. Do I need to set it for auto mode or n only? and 20 or 40 mhz or 20/40 combined? do I need aes/tkip encryption or just aes?
When I wake up my pc after standby there is for ~ 5 sec on internet. Looks like it needs to reconnect to the internet. My old pc didn't have this issue and immediately had internet.I have a MSI Z77 GD-65 mobo and internet through an Ethernet cable.
I have an ASUS Z77 Motherboard and when I install the AI Suite II which comes on the installation disc it blocks my internet connection. When I uninstall the software my connection is fine. I am using an Ethernet connection by the way. I think it is being blocked by the component called Network iControl. As soon as that component is uninstalled my Internet connection comes back. I want to have the software, but I also want to have my connection.
I would like to know if the D-Link DWA-525 Wireless N 150 Desktop Adapter [URL] is compatible with my ASUS P6X58D-E motherboard ?Its a PCI card, and even my mobo had the PCI 2.0 slot, but i happened to see the photo of the card and it seemed to have two gaps in its PCI connector,]
I have an ASUS CG5270 desktop with windows 7. The desktop says that there are no connections available; however, my laptop is connected and showing all the networks in the neighborhood.
I have a P7H55 Asus Motherboard with the ethernet port and cable working fine individually. However, when i connect them together, the ethernet light on the router remains stable as if connected but still the desktop shows not connected. This time i have installed the drivers which came from the motherboard manufacturer and are the latest. In the Network and Sharing Center, the icon is enabled. It does not show cross sign.
My internet service grinds to all but a halt as soon as I plug in the ethernet cable to my desktop. Nothing is running in the background (that I can determine). Nothing is spamming data up or down (that I can determine). I get 40ms ping and 12Mbps downloads on every device I have until I plug in my big boy; then all the speeds come crashing down to 600ms ping and 0.9-1.4Mbps downloads (including the desktop, I have not been able to play SWTOR for weeks now). It's not the provider, (I thought it was) but I switched from Time Warner to AT&T with the exact same results. ASUS P8P67 Pro; I've had funky issues with USB ports and one SATA port died. Other friends suggest I may have an awful bug and I need to wipe and start over. I wouldn't mind doing that, but I don't have a windows recovery disk (my copy is legitimate).
Mobo-as listed. CPU- i5-2500k stock, not clocked RAM- 16GB G.Skill Ripjaws X DDR3 1600
Here is my build that i would like to make and i basically need an adapter that could be compatible. This is my router: Netgear N600 Wireless Dual band router [URL] PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

I have an E2000 router with the most current firmware. I have a Sony VAio laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit,a Macbook with 10.6.8, and a new Asus Transformer Prime with ICS.My work desktop is a Dell Optiplex 380 with Windows 7 Pro 32bit. I frequently work from home and have no issues remoting into to my work PC from by Sony laptop via VPN and RDP.However I have never been able to connect successfully to my work PC with my Macbook(using Remote Desktop Connection 2.1 for Mac OS) or Asus tablet(using WYSE Pocket Cloud RDP app for Android). I can however connect to the VPN itself on the Macbook and tablet without issue same as my Windows laptop. The other interesting part is I can connect via RDP when I am connected to a Mi-Fi 3g hotspot. So it is definitely something in the my Linksys E2000 blocking the connection for some reason. I have even set Port forwarding of 3389 with the ip's of both the Macbook and Asus tablet.I have also tried connecting via ethernet to the router with the same outcome. I cannot ping my work pc from either device as well.In addition the firewall on my work PC is completely disabled and all services related to Remote desktop access are enabled and running.
I need to build a medium network and connect it to the internet MORE DETALIS; what are the hardware requiremnet i need to build this network?? i need to monitor and control every thing in this network. it should be like this(one ADSL line with high speed connection coming from my ISP-(internet service provider)++ a room to put all the equipment and decives use in the network=routers, modem, servers, cables and so on= ++ then from this room or place i divide the one line coming to sub-netwrks--in my case about 6 subnetworks-- then spread all the cables and so on, to each department or division
I just built a new computer that will not connect to the internet, but only while using my wall port, and only this new computer, and only while connected through the router. Totally bizarre, right?I just built a new computer with a fresh install of Windows 7. I set it up directly connected to the router, where I applied all windows updates. I then moved it to where my old computer is, which uses a wall port to connect to the router in another room, where this new computer then fails to connect to the internet or to the router's setup. The new computer's Ethernet LEDs will light up, and the computer will automatically obtain an IP address, but will not connect to the internet or even the router setup.
Currently getting constant disconnects with the following hardware/software
Modem CM100 Router - Tried 4 different routers, issue consistent throughout them all. Original is the Asus RT-n56u. Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller MSI 790XT-G45 Windows 7 Ultimate
After installing several drivers and probably 10-20 tweaks, the issue has stopped for about 50 minutes after consistent at least every 10-20 minutes.I actually just placed an order for a Motorola Surfboard 6121 Although I need the upgrade anyway.
I'm not being able to wireless distribute the office LAN int-con via recently purchased Tp-link tl-wr740n wireless n router'. Actually, I had no problems with my USR 8054 wireless router before I decided to replace the router with an 'N' one as I experienced some connection loss on my mac book pro(mac osx 10.8) thru USR 8054. The internet connection I have is from a wall socket in my office. I know the hub/router/switch or whatever behind has no DCHP activated because the device connected to that socket cannot get an IP, you must enter it manually together with gateway, DNS etc.. and the values are as ip 10.50.31.108 subnet 255.0.0.0 gateway 10.50.31.254 Whenever I enter these on my USR's 'static IP configuration' via quick setup and plug the Ethernet cable from the wall socket to the WAN, it works and the router immediately starts to let me surf on the net wireless. However, the same procedure has never succeeded on my Tp-link with its latest original firmware or dd-wrt. It even says no cable connected although it is connect from the wall socket to its WAN.I also tried to connect my computer directly to the wall socket with a regular Ethernet cable and entered the ip, gateway etc manually. It didn't work at first, then I changed IPv6 setting from ''auto'' to ''local connection only'' and I was able connect to the internet with no trouble.
Whenever I play video games my internet is completely interrupted and eventually disconnects.I thought it was a steam issue but recently I bought dragon age 2 and the exact same thing happens for it.
What is strange is that it continues to happen even if I run the game in a window and pull up a program in front of it, but the moment I minimize the game (windowed) the internet picks right up 2 seconds or so after I minimize it. I verified this by running speed tests and minimizing and reopening the game window to see what would happen.
I am completely confused on where to begin. I remember playing Arma 2 6 months ago and I didn't have this issue but something has changed since then and I don't know what.I have U-Verse internet, ATI Radeon HD 5700, Intel i5 cpu 2.67ghz, windows 7 32 bit, and 4 gb ram.
I've been gaming all day and my ping has been extremely high. I figured it was someone in my house downloading something but now it's... 1 a.m. I checked my whole house and shut down everyone's computers so I'm positive no one is stealing my bandwidth.
I launch a game (HoN, Dungeon Defenders, Team Fortress 2, CSS, LoL, Whatever.) and my internet sputters out, disconnects and my wireless cannot 'discover' any networks.
I have tried:Speedtest.net (Check connection)Pingtest.net (Check Packet Loss and Jitter)ping google.com -t (Nothing but normal, for an hour)Reinstall/Update video driversSwitching Wireless card to new PCI-E slotResetting routerSwitching off router for 25 minsDisabling IPv6and; Removing my wireless network and making a new profile
My internet/gaming/netflix has been slowing down lately, some parts of the day there are no problems, other parts (4-10pm) its impossible. I live with one roommate, I have my own router and he has his own router. Mine is a Netgear router, not sure what his is. Ourinternet, with no problems is: 65ping, 4.8 mbps, and .60 upload. When its busy: 180ping, .30 mbps, and .09 upload. I constantly get kicked off xbox live and its super frustrating. The thing is, when my roommate is gone I am able to stream netflix in HD without any problems. However, when he's using netflix the quality of mine drops to the lowest signal and most times disconnects me from xbox live. I'm not sure if this is an ISP issue or a router issue
i bought a new computer....just for gaming....bout a 1500 big ones...and its internet speed is terrible...its the computer..on internet browsers (firefox, Internet explorer, Chrome) i get like 10-20 Kilos a second...but once im in game....the internet works perfect battlefield....FLAWLESS ping....like 32..
I've tried so many settings I cant even remember where i left off but one general question, troubleshoot to the next step with the wga54g; sometimes the connection shows 'acquring address' but never connects. I've fiddled with things so that i can get the GA to acquire an address but the internet comes through. Also the GA never shows up on the client table. So is the fact that i can get a network address a good thing or doesn't that necessarily mean i'm 'connected' to the network. Its frustrating to have the G light lite up yet no connection also at one point I did get the GA to show up in the client table when it was directly connected to the linksys 1200 but when i walked into the room and attached it to the PC, no dice I've turned off all firewalls temporarily and the 1200 is set on wpa/wp2 mixed. when i tried setting it just to wpa i got a warning then I lost my internet. I had to reinstall the 1200 again.
I play some games online casually, primarily League of Legends, and about every second sitting the internet has frequent 'blips' of going down for long enough to make the game have connection issues. I've noticed it is the sending that goes down and if the receiving goes down at all, then it is very quick. (The game still plays and I see everything that is happening but cannot respond. This happens in Rift too the rare time I play it and the even rarer flash games I play). Though I have tried many things to fix this issue, it hasn't truly bothered me that much until recently when I realized I play even less than I normally would out of fear the game session will be ruined by the internet.About half a year ago the internet was in very bad shape. It crashed often and stayed down for a long time. My ISP is Comcast (Or Xfinity...), and it took me many weeks of harassing their customer support (off and on) for them to fix it. Then it ran smoothly for a couple months before it started having these blips.
The details:When it has a blip, before, during, and afterwards (I've sat by the modem to watch it happen), there is no indication of the internet having trouble on the modem indicator lights. Nothing changes, and they flash at about the same rate as normal. The router I have is a Linksys, and nothing seems to change on it either during a blip.I have the games port forwarded. All my firewalls including the windows firewall are off. I have updated my wifi and internet drivers on my computer and am using the firmware recommended to me by my ISP for the router.
I own the linksys wrt160n v2...It has latest firmware 2.03 build 9...After installing this firmware i have noticed the internet speeds have reduced, the router requires frequent reboots to make it stable..
i used to have firmware version 2.02 build 15...It was stable unlike the current firmware...i cant find the old firmware anywhere...how do i revert back to old firmware?
I built my new computer a while ago & I have went through 3 wireless network adapters already... 2 from d-link that just stopped working after 1-3 months and my current linksys ae3000 disconnects from internet randomly while gaming.I am looking for a new Wireless Network Adapter, or any tips or anything to stop my current problem.

I recently installed a NetGear router to my PC in order to do online gaming. Now my laptop does not connect to the internet. I have spent over 9 hours on the phone with Centurylink (the internet provider); Netgear (the router) and HP (the laptop). Each one says its not their problem. The laptop can find our connection, it says "Connected". However it then says "Internet access denied".
I recently moved into a larger 2 story house, and for the first few months I was using a Linksys E1000 I've had for about 2 years now. It's a fine single band router, but the people upstairs and the xbox/PS3 in the living room didnt have the strongest connection.
I shopped around and finally got a ASUS RT-N66U for a really good, strong dual band router that would supposedly give better range and performance than my old E1000.
Unfortunately, since I got it everyone is having issues they never had before, namely:Signal dropping all around the house and having to search for the network much slower performance than before the xbox/PS3 cant hold a stable connection even for a few minutes now, when before you could watch Netflix HD programs easily
I've upgraded the Firmware to 3.0.0.3.178 since I heard earlier firmwares had issues, but other than that and opening my ports for qTorrent it is relatively stock settings.
i own an Asus X50R laptop..i can't get internet on it..I have wireless broadband and it should be able to pick up on it but it doesn't.. in the device manager it has nothing there for it??it does have ethernet controller.
Our modem stopped giving internet to us. my dad freaked out seaid he was going to go to shaw and get a new one, well I just switched the cable and got the internet working again, everybody's happy ,now lets get to my problem. The internet for my Asus laptop now keeps dropping and then reconnecting its strange since this has never happened before so it seems my laptop is now just getting the worst of it as my moms laptop is just running a bit slow on the internet now to.Also just for extra info I hooked up directly to the modem for my laptop and it runs fine its just the wifi.
my daughter has a asus eeepc 900, it will not connet to the internet. in the control panel, under network connections, it has wireless network connection - connected, and local area connection - network cable unplugged. i see some downloads on their website, but not sure which one i need to use?
