I have a NT-USB54M Wireless USB adapter. Ubuntu Linux recognizes it without prompt but windows requires a driver that is nowhere to be found any longer. I doubt i-micro (the company that makes this product) has made a driver for Linux so how is it possible for Ubuntu to recognize it? Is there a generic driver that would work with Windows XP?

But..then it just hangs there,and eventually leads to-driver was not sucessfully installed(that is when i plug it out,but i waited more than an hour before that)I tried uninstaling and updating the driver for it,but it didnt worked.When i tried to uninstal the driver,again it just hanged.That is untill i unpluged the adapter..I have manually downloaded the latest driver,and when i check in properties it says that device is working properly.

My computer, first, will not run the software CD automatically; I have to find it and double-click on it. Then, after the drivers are supposedly installed and I restart according to the instructions, my computer is unable to find them when I plug in the adapter. Additionally, when I try to start the driver program myself, it refuses to go. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the driver software four times and I have gotten the following same results every time. Also, I do not have a router installed yet, as we were told initially that all we would need to use to connect the desktop to our wireless Internet was the adapter

I tried to install it and was met with an error message: "This installation is not supported on this operating system version. The setup application will exit." It will not install and my WiFi is still down.My system is an Alienware m15x with Windows 7 64-bit. I recently re-installed Windows due to a small bug that was hampering Google Chrome. When I went here [URL] and installed the software my Windows 7 Pro w/64 bit does not recognize the adapter. When I go to Device Manager it does see the Belkin under other devices. View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a Inspiron M5110 Laptop and was having some trouble staying connected to my internet so this morning I decided I would try and update the drivers. I have uninstalled the Wireless and Blue Tooth drivers and reinstalled them, but now, it won't even TRY to connect at all. In the bottom right corner, there's a red x over the wireless bars, and says No Connections are available. Before , it would have a spinning circle while trying to connect, but it doesnt have that at all anymore. My Ethernet connection is working fine, I even uninstalled and reinstalled that driver (REALTEK) and its working with no problems.
If I run IPCONFIG, the wireless adapter doesn't even show up anymore. I've tried resetting, disabling, anything I could think of. I tried several versions too of the drivers, but nothing is working. Right now, I removed it, so I have a yellow exclamation mark next to Network Controller in my Device Settings. My hardware ID for the adapter is PCIVEN_168C&DEV_002B&SUBSYS_02051028
I think from the above info, I believe the wireless adapter belongs to Atheros.how I can get this thing to even attempt to connect to a network? I'm dead in the water...

View 3 Replies View Relatedhalf of my laptop driver are corrupted (network, USB, and sound). I had installed a program called 'motion joy' and play with the software... right after i reboot my laptop, the sound icon and the network icon on the system tray are crossed out. I can see yellow exclamation mark on the drivers icons on device manager.
I made an attempt to roll back those corrupted drivers but nothing happen. Even when i try to update it, it says i had the latest driver. ;( I tried to uninstall the driver but the those driver files at 'system32/driver' are still there. I even tried to run driver CD that comes along with my laptop, and when I run the installer, it states that all the drivers are install.
so bascially now my laptop boot, run program BUT can't access internet , all USB ports are unavailable,and no sound at all.

It is my understanding that these are used to send IPV4 encapsulated IPV6 packets across intranet, and that I need to update the network card drivers to fix the issue. I am not sure if the drivers shown on the Dell site will fix this issue.
