HA Failover For Socket Application?

I have a tcp socket server application. Some of my clients are asking if I can provide server redundancy for my tcp service for HA purpose. I know it can be done using Windows NLB but the cost of the Enterprise edition is beyond the budget of most of my clients. DNS failover is also out since it will involve fiddling with the DNS server. I'm would prefer to setup a simple solution in which I check the status of the primary server and then if the primary is down, change the ip address of the secondary to the primary so that the service remains available. This sounds simplistic, and besides different clients use different networks, e.g. AD, but I'm not a networking guy so I am at my wits' end.

I have two wi-fi network, and i have written client server model in c (Linux), client has three threads and each thread having different physical wi-fi conection to server. But the problem is that, overall data rate is not increased by this, it is similar to using with one wi-fi connection.

We have 2 ACEs configured as Active/Standby. FT vlan is configured directly using a crossover cable , not using a switch for the FT vlan.ACE is setup in routed mode ,vlan 29 is client vlan and 28 is server vlan ,both are being trunked on ACE-- trunk 3750 switch.
When I shutdown the port on 3750 for the primary ACE , data connectivity wise ,primary ACE is down ,but the secondary is not taking over ,and also when I do sh ft group status on the secondary ACE,I see the status of STANDBY_HOT and the peer state: ACTIVE.

I have HA configuration for two ACE4710. FT between Ace's is configured as L2 (V LAN). Active ACE is sending heartbeats, but switch shows lot of 'input errors' on ingress and this is a major problem. FT is logically not working (there is no connection between these two Ace's over V LAN). There is only L2 configuration, with speed and duplex auto, no other special configuration. When I connect Ace's directly, FT is working without problem.
I can see lot of errors on input direction (from ACE) to switch port, that means, L1, or L2 problem, but direct connection (using the same Ethernet cable) is working. I tried 'shut/no shut' on both sides, set duplex/speed,... without success.
ACA IOS version is A4(1.x).

I have 2 CSS, 1 as primary and 2nd as standby. I configured the standby CSS as my old standby CSS box and now wanted to test the faliover. I am not aware of how to test it in. ny how i have cr for that.

We have an ACE 4710 that has two web servers in an active/passive scenario. The issue is that if node 1 fails and node 2 takes over connections to node 2 stay active even if node 1 becomes available again. Is there are way to ensure that node one is not placed back into service if it becomes available again.
how active/passive failover shoudl be configured, so I can make sure I have it set up correctly;

Since the ACE supports only static routing, when pointing a default route from the ACE what is your preferred method when using multiple 6500s with an ACE in each in a failover scenario to prevent just pointing at one 6500? Static route to an HSRP address? Multiple static routes on the ACE, etc?

I am planning to perform a failover drill between active and standy CSS loadbalancers which are configured in a cluster pair. I am looking for help to know what show commands I can run to validate that the failover occurred successfully from primary to secondary load balancer and that the VIP's have failed over successfuly as well.

I have a problem with my AP. Basically when I plug it in to the PoE switch it will start up (I can see the lights) but for some reason there is no light on the PoE switch. Looks like there is nothing connected. I chave changed the cable, port on the PoE switch but still the same. Is it possible that maybe few pins on the RJ-45 socket are demaged or there may be sth else.The other APs start without any issues and the light is always on on the PoE switch.I also need to add that the AP can not get the IP address.

I am trying to FTP a 25MB file to a client using FileZilla and my wired WRT310N router. In the past I have never had a problem but now I am getting the following error: Could not write to transfer socket: EPIPE - Local endpoint has been closed.I changed the MTU to manual - 1500 on the router.I am using an almost brand new iMacThe iMac firewall is OFFTimeout in Filezilla is set to 0.The transfer stops at about 12MB everytime I try; which is ~ 35 seconds.

I have written a java server-client program. The server accepts incoming connections on port 2175 and writes responses on 2176 which the client listens on for the response. I am sending serialzed objects over the network.
Problem: This all works well if I run my client on the same machine as the server. I put together a client jar and deployed it on another machine running on the same wireless network as the server. Now I get a "ConnectionException :Connection refused". So I thought I should hardcode the server and client IP's but that still didnt work.
Question: What else would I have to do to get the two computers to talk to each other (in terms of networking not java)?

Everytime I make a config change to one of the contexts on our ACE20, I get this message: Config Application in Progress. This command is queued to the system
If I run show download info, I get:

Does anyone know if it's possible to use a single interface on the ASA for both the failover interface and for stateful failover? Here's my situation.I'm looking to provision a pair of ASAs and I want to do stateful failover.The problem is that I need four interfaces (inside, outside, and two physical DMZ interfaces).I'm looking at either the 5520s or 5540s and these boxes need to run the IDS SSMs, so I can't use the 4-port expansion SSM.
I want to do stateful failover so I need two failover interfaces.What I'm wondering is if I can take one physical interface,run two subinterfaces on it, and then use those two subinterfaces for my failover and stateful failover interfaces.That would leave me with the four interfaces that I need for everything else

We have two sites connected by a gigaman line. Routing between the two sites is done with a couple of HP routers. We also have two separate Internet connections, one at each site, through different providers. The border firewall at one site is a Cisco 5505 and at the other site it is a Cisco 5510. If the gigaman line goes down, we would like to fail over to a site-to-site VPN. Any clue how to set this up? We can set up the site-to-site VPN. how to make it serve as a failover. Another question is whether the VPN will cause confusion when the gigaman is operational.

I'm having a hard time finding which Verizon 3g usb phone cards that will work with a TZ105. How to get it working on a TZ105, what usb phone card you're using and the phone provider. Sonicwall support is telling me there are no verizon cards that will work right now. I have my Sonicwall vendor looking into it, but still haven't heard back from him either. So at this point I'm looking for any USB 3g phone card that is known to work.

The active RP of ASR 1006 router automatically switched over to standby while the standby assumed the active role.Not sure the exact reason for this behaviour. The image version is 122-33.XNB1. We noticed an outage when the switchover happened but the device did not crash.

In the output of "show redundancy switchover history" the switchover reason given is active unit failed.But currently the RPs are working as active and standby hot.

I got PIX 525 with failover. Due to power issue one Unit was offline for a while. During this time couple of changes was done on the Firewall.
Which Unit becomes active when I plug the Firewall unit which was offline for a while now. Each Unit has 4 Ethernet Connection
E 0/0 - connects ISP Router
E 0/1 - connects to Lan switch
E 1/0 - connects to DMZ port
E 2/0 - connects to failover unit PIX

Ongoing problem I have been having regarding a l2l VPN connection between our ASA 5510 and a client's ASA 5505. The client's main ISP is Comcast and he uses a secondary AT&T internet connection as a failover. When Comcast goes down, AT&T comes up and everything works great...except for the VPN to our ASA5510. I have not been able to get the VPN connection to work on the failover network. I have set up a separate, "Backup_WAN", interface in the firewall for AT&T. All of the same rules are in place for AT&T as there are for the primary Comcast connection (the VPN for Comcast works just fine) but I still cannot get the VPN to work with the failover.
Why the VPN would not be working?

We are trying to make a VPN failover over two ASA's. However the 2 ASA's have different version and our smartnet have already expired. I was wondering if this VPN failover would work even if they are different? Or should I get a smartnet first to be able to download an updated ios?

We our currently using site-to-site VPN tunnels to connect our multiple offices using static public IP's via ADSL connections.We wanted to get an additional ADSL connection from a different ISP so that if one connection drops, the other could be used.Are there any hardware devices or tricks we can use to automatically get our networks to failover to use the backup ADSL connection and have our VPN traffic remain up?

Currently we have one ISP1 and all traffic goes to this way. Suppose our isp1 goes down, our outside user cant get the server. All servers are nated to this ISP1.We planned to purchase a another ISP2. Shall we Configure same inside server to map this ISP2? so that one primary ISP1 goes down it will take place the outside trafficISP2.

I thing that i find some bug in the newest IOS 15.1.4M.
The case is falow:
I start to configure failover for the costomer - make default route, make the default path but i cant find the comand IP SLA monitor. Is some meet this problem with this IOS or just Cisco make some chenge in the CLI commands?

I have an ASA5515 and our remote sites which have a mesh topology of VPN. At some times of the day router to particular links are down do to the ISP core, but the tunnels from the same firewall can communicate to other sites. Is it possible to have a way where you could route traffic to another ASA which has a connection to both the ASA which want to communicate and have the traffic hairpinned, I know this is possible but is it possible to make this automated.
