View 1 RepliesI have a Cisco E4200 router connected behind my Comcast cable modem.
The small LED lights located at each network cable plug-in on my router are continually blinking orange all at the same time over and over.
I also notice on all my computers that are wired to this router the small LED lights near the network card plug-in are also blinking orange.
what these orange lights mean and if I have a problem?
My internet service seems to work OK but I'm not sure what is causing all these orange LED's to blink and is there something wrong that imay be slowing my system down.
I have upgraded my Cisco router to the latest firmware and also power reset my cable modem and router several times with no change in the problem.
I noticed on my new cisco 2960s switches, that all the lights went orange for about 10 seconds then went off again, this was during normal operation, all ports were shutdown at the time apart from a few,the ones that were enabled, the led's went off.

The supervisor has all it LED in orange state, there was no blinking of the lights at power on they went straight to orange. Tried removing all cards, having only supervisor card in, etc but always the orange lights.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWe recently had a big storm and lost internet connection to our house. Whilst internet connection has since been restored I've noticed that there are now orange lights above the port where the ethernet cable connected to on our notebook. I also cannot get internet connection using the ethernet cable. Does this mean my internal modem has blown? I can use the wireless modem with no problems.
If the modem has blown, how much are they usually to replace and is it relatively easy? I have a Inspiron 1525 Notebook.
I have a tcp socket server application. Some of my clients are asking if I can provide server redundancy for my tcp service for HA purpose. I know it can be done using Windows NLB but the cost of the Enterprise edition is beyond the budget of most of my clients. DNS failover is also out since it will involve fiddling with the DNS server. I'm would prefer to setup a simple solution in which I check the status of the primary server and then if the primary is down, change the ip address of the secondary to the primary so that the service remains available. This sounds simplistic, and besides different clients use different networks, e.g. AD, but I'm not a networking guy so I am at my wits' end.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have two wi-fi network, and i have written client server model in c (Linux), client has three threads and each thread having different physical wi-fi conection to server. But the problem is that, overall data rate is not increased by this, it is similar to using with one wi-fi connection.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with my AP. Basically when I plug it in to the PoE switch it will start up (I can see the lights) but for some reason there is no light on the PoE switch. Looks like there is nothing connected. I chave changed the cable, port on the PoE switch but still the same. Is it possible that maybe few pins on the RJ-45 socket are demaged or there may be sth else. The other APs start without any issues and the light is always on on the PoE switch.I also need to add that the AP can not get the IP address.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have written a java server-client program. The server accepts incoming connections on port 2175 and writes responses on 2176 which the client listens on for the response. I am sending serialzed objects over the network.
Problem: This all works well if I run my client on the same machine as the server. I put together a client jar and deployed it on another machine running on the same wireless network as the server. Now I get a "ConnectionException :Connection refused". So I thought I should hardcode the server and client IP's but that still didnt work.
Question: What else would I have to do to get the two computers to talk to each other (in terms of networking not java)?
Yesterday, my DIR-600 are working fine, but the led of the power and the WAN are orange, now, only the power led is orange, i can't enter in 192.168.0.1

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a D-LINK 601 router which has been working fine. I was told by a friend that it is not password protected. I think that I have set it up now with an adm password. The router and the DSL modem is still connected as before, but the Internet LED blinks orange.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe D-link dir-615 is not working. The modem is working perfect, because its the internet that im using right now (its connected directly to my laptop, so i know its the router for sure) But i want to make the internet on my modem wireless, but the D-link router has the orange globe light turned on (as im typing it still has the light on) and i just dont know whats wrong with it. I have already tried reseting it like 2 times, and it still doesn't work. When i connect my router, all it does is acquire the network address, and it just stays there, so no ip address will be detected... I might just buy a lynksys router, d-link sucks. This router was bought years ago by the way. It hasn't been used since like now.
It isnt the computer, i tried disabling the firewall, and reconnecting, but it just stays in 'renewing ip address' (the same things happen with all of the other computers that try to connect to it in my home) I click on the wireless icon and then on 'support' and next to IP Address it says "Invalid Ip Address"... The globe still remains orange on the router..

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy internet has been dropping out over and over. Im connected via ether cable on my desktop with windows seven to my belkin router however on the router the wireless icon is flashing orange indicating something wrong. I rang my internet provider and they said its not them, when I troubleshooted the problem it came up with DNS server isnt responding. I tried looking through posts and tried restoring my router to factory default but nothing has worked.

View 1 Replies View Relatedmy family kept having a problem with our Billion 6800n router. (or something like that).Basically we pinned the problem down to it not having the strength to keep several connections running through it. So we upgraded to a Billion 7800n and found it is much more stable and much faster. However it has been having a similar problem to our previous router.
Occasionally the internet light drops from green to orange, and we can't load any more pages until it has gone back to green. Here is a picture of what it looks like when in that status. But the weird thing is the connection bars on the windows toolbar at the bottom of the screen still show full strength. As shown here. Now I thought it might be because it was sharing a power board with other connections going through it,so I transferred it to a smaller two-plug one instead.

Is there any way to change web interface / firmware from orange version to blue version? Blue version has more options and better "System log" presentation page.
So I have been having internet problems lately and first thought it was my modem. Figured out it wasn't the modem but the isp. After I woke up the next morning I found the wireless not to we working again but the hard connection to be just fine. I have tried resetting the router but I'm not entirely sure I went through. The orange light no longer comes on. Wired connection also doesn't work while connected to the router. I have tried 192.168.1.1 and nothing loads. The router and modem are about 5 or 6 years old. A windows xp desktop, windows 7 and vista laptops are on the network with a blue ray player.the router is a wrt54gs2 v7
I think i have to reconfigure the router but I'm not sure. If that's the case why am i having trouble with 192.168.1.1?
