Am running a netgear wgr614v6 as my main router and a buffalo air station as a bridge to the net gear so I have Internet in my living room without wires
I have cable Internet and I have had to constantly reset router to get it o work. Even when on main computer a web page will fail to load two three times abnd then will work. I am at my wits end and don't want to buy a new router for fear of having to set up the bridge again and make an error when doing so.
my family kept having a problem with our Billion 6800n router. (or something like that).Basically we pinned the problem down to it not having the strength to keep several connections running through it. So we upgraded to a Billion 7800n and found it is much more stable and much faster.However it has been having a similar problem to our previous router.
Occasionally the internet light drops from green to orange, and we can't load any more pages until it has gone back to green.Here is a picture of what it looks like when in that status.But the weird thing is the connection bars on the windows toolbar at the bottom of the screen still show full strength.As shown here.Now I thought it might be because it was sharing a power board with other connections going through it,so I transferred it to a smaller two-plug one instead.
I upgraded then downgraded from 2.00 to 2.03 back down to 2.00, and whenever I'm doing about 600kB/s+ it resets itself. Drops connection drops wireless, wired, and the globe internet icon goes Lambert/orange. I've reset the router to default and it still does that. What could be the cause?
I've done a lot of changing around, disabling unicast, changing from WPA Auto to WPA2, etc etc, I just changed the router to Netgear WGR614 v7 and it works perfectly fine now.
so upstairs is where my 2wire router is, with a steady 54 mbps signal speed and a excellent signal strength for any computer upstairs, BUT any computer downstairs will have the signal strength goes from 1 through 24 mbps alot.Now, I do have other computers connected to the router, none are taking up the speed, and all have the same signal strength. All of these computers are upstairs as well.I know for a fact it isn't the computer, since when my computer was upstairs it would work fine, but with everything exactly the same it'll be horrible downstairs.Only things I have thought of might be interference... but have zero idea how to find what would be causing the interference if any exist.
View 3 Replies View RelatedBeen searching threads here and all over google. I have DSL thru Century Link.Router is Zyxel pk5001z. 2 laptops being used. ( well, they were until my MB fried out.) My laptop has Win 7, my girlfriends has Vista.- Dell inspiron 1525. Only had the service for about 2 mo's. My laptop was working fine wirelessly. Hers drops constantly.Currently hers is the only one being used.Sometimes shows the red x, other times just local only.- Drops and reconnects within seconds. I have set channel to 6 and 11. disabled IPC 6 in laptop adapter, uninstalled/reinstalled wireless card in device manager, checked for newer driver, checked for firmware upgrade in modem, set to g/n only, ( no option for G only) connection strenth is full. No wirless phones, no close neighbors, etc. I have read posts indicating the routers are junk, other posts saying Vista has issues with certian routers, but nothing that pinpoints my exact problem. Also, just re-loaded Vista the other day.

As soon as any laptop tries to download files, youtube, even web pages... There is nothing wrong with my wired connection. The thing is, each laptop gets disconnected then almost instantly reconnected. It is very annoying.The only thing I have found to fix it is turning off my wireless security completely. This is unacceptable! I am a computer scientist and in the security field. Ive tried WEP with both key sizes, WPA-Personal is what I originally was using before I started changed settings.

I'm very satisfied with everything about it... except for one little problem.It constantly drops the wireless connection, unless I'm in the same room as the router. If I'm in the same room, everything runs super fast, however, if I'm across the house or upstairs (the router is downstairs), it'll drop connection every 20-30 minutes. The weird thing is, other devices (4 laptops & 3 iPhones) work just fine. Even my old HP laptop has fine connection upstairs, so I'm starting to think it's a problem with my laptop's wireless card.Another thing that makes me think it's the laptop's problem... I was with my dad at a public library using their wifi the other day. The card is Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2200. I've updated the driver directly from the Intel website, but no luck. I've tried changing channels, no luck. I'm not sure what else I can do. Is it just simply because the laptop has a weak wireless network card? It can't be the router's problem right? Since all other devices work?I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium, Intel Core i5, and since the laptop is new, I haven't downloaded/installed anything that may have brought in a virus.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI set up my new E2500 last week, and it works fantastic with every device (iPad, 2 iPhones, iMac, DLink usb, ...) EXCEPT my iMac. That connects, but loses the connection very frequently (say at least every half hour) and I need to turn wifi off and on to get it to reconnect.
I've ensured that the iMac has all system updates, and I've checked that the E2500 is the latest firmware.
I've reverted to my old WRT54G for now, I'll have to return the E2500 if it won't work consistently with the iMac.
My E4200 seems to be dropping connections throughout the day. For wireless it'll still show full signal and connection, but there will be no internet activity for about a minute. Then after a minute things will work just fine again. For wired I notice it in my XBox mainly when I get dropped from games as constant as the wireless drops.I believe my modem isn't the problem since the old router never dropped connections on the hard wired devices. Occasionally my old D-Link router would drop wireless, but never this frequent,I am running 1.0.02. I've rebooted the router/modem several times. I even reinstalled the entire setup with the current version of Cisco Connect as the tech person suggested, but still no luck. The first week or so using this router was flawless, but ever since then it's been dropping connections several times throughout the day to any device connected (wireless or wired). The problem seems that the router just hiccups the connection very quickly, so quickly that Windows doesn't even recognize the connection has been lost, but long enough to drop a multiplayer game on XBox or to have me mashing refresh on my internet browsers.

My wi fi signal is excellent, yet my signal keeps dropping or saying limited access.I have tried resetting the router and resetting my default windows settings on the computer. All other lap tops and wireless devices in the house do not have an issue.I discovered the other day as long as the laptop ( not the router) is plugged in and not running on batter power that i do not have a problem staying connected.For fun i wondered if it had something to do with the power cord making some kind of connection when plugged into the lap top, (since everything is more compact in them)I tried having the power cord plugged into the lap top but not into a power source but I still lost signal.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have the WRT400N router and using windows 7 (on this computer). It works perfectly with any computer I use in the house (there's 3). As soon as I open a laptop, its connected. My iPhone (we have 2) and an iTouch, are a different story. They connect, stay connected sometimes for 5 minutes, sometimes 5 hours, then will drop the connection out of nowhere. It doesn't matter how close or far I am from the router. Sometimes I'll get a message that I have an incorrect password (which it's not, which is why it DOES work). Sometimes I don't get a message at all (on the phones I'll just notice its on E/3G). Now, looking through the database I noticed there is a program for the valet routers that lets you add the phones, yet this doesn't apply to mine.
The tech in live chat told me it was the phones. I know its not as I had a wireless modem before this, and I never once lost a signal or had it ask me for an incorrect password.
I have recently purchased a Belkin n300 wireless N router. The problem is, I have to reboot the thing numerous times throughout the day to allow a client to connect to it via wireless. One client will be connected and then drop, or a client will be connected, and I cannot connect another device. I also had an issue with streaming over wireless for netflix on my devices and the only way I could get it to work was to turn off the firewall, what the hek.... This is crap. I knew I should not have bought a belkin router again. Had one years ago and it constantly gave me issues. Had my Linksys Wrt54G for years with no problems until it finally crapped out. Anyways, my firmware version is the latest version according o the website.

I'm using a Linksys Wireless-N router (WRT160N) with WEP encryption. I'm running two Windows 7 laptops, LG BluRay player, Apple TV, Xbox 360 (Wired) iPhone 4, and a iPad 2. It doesn't matter if I'm browsing the web, watching Netflix, or playing a game, the connection gets lost. As we speak it happened again. I have no clue on what to do. I've reconfigured it multiple times. Firmware has been updated months ago.

The supervisor has all it LED in orange state, there was no blinking of the lights at power on they went straight to orange. Tried removing all cards, having only supervisor card in, etc but always the orange lights.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just installed a refurb'd 3560 48 port POE switch and configured all ports on VLAN100. All Polycom IP 430 phones (with power adapter and without power adapter) constantly reboot every couple minutes. Any Cisco 7960 phone does not constantly reboot and works correctly. When I plug a small unmanaged switch into a 3560 port and then plug the Polycom phone into the unmanaged switch powering the phone with a power adapter, the phone works correctly. So it seems that the 3560 is causing the Polycom to reboot.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have got a PC at work (Windows XP Pro SP3) that is on two networks with the IPs 10.20.30.167, subnet 255.255.255.0 (internet enabled) and 10.0.0.20, subnet 255.255.255.0 (no internet). On the 10.0.0.X network there is a gateway with the IP 10.0.0.200 allowing access to another network; 192.168.60.X, subnet 255.255.255.0 (no internet). I have added the route on my work PC to access the 192.168.60.X network via this gateway and I can access all PCs on all three networks from this PC.Now, I am using LogMeIn Hamachi so that I can access the networks at work from home. The PC at work is the 'gateway' PC on the Hamachi network. When installing Hamachi it created a new network connection and bridged this connection with my 10.20.30.167 network adapter to allow access to the 10.20.30.X network from an external PC when connected using the Hamachi VPN connection. I have manually configured my Hamachi connection on my PC at home to the IP 10.20.30.169, subnet 255.255.255.0, with the default gateway set to 10.20.30.167. I can ping all computers on the 10.20.30.X network from my PC at home.
I then added a route on my PC at home for 10.0.0.X to go via 10.20.30.167 (the 'gateway' on the Hamachi network). I also enabled IP forwarding on the 'gateway' PC (my PC at work). I can not ping any PC on the 10.0.0.X network from my PC at home apart from 10.0.0.20 (the other NIC in the Hamachi gateway PC) and 10.0.0.30 (another PC on the 10.20.30.X network that is also on the 10.0.0.X network).Now, with IP forwarding enabled on the Hamachi gateway PC I would assume after adding the route on my PC at home for 10.0.0.X traffic to go via 10.20.30.167 that I would be able to ping all PCs on the 10.0.0.X network...I also tried adding a route on my home PC to send all traffic for the 192.168.60.X network via 10.20.30.167 which has a route via 10.0.0.200 to the 192.168.60.X network, but this also did not work.I then tried adding the 10.0.0.20 network adapter into the network bridge that the Hamachi connection made, also keeping both IPs (10.20.30.167 and 10.0.0.20) on this network bridge by adding them into the 'IP Settings' in the 'Advanced TCI/IP Settings'. I also added the 10.0.0.200 gateway for good measure. I still cannot ping any PC on the 10.0.0.X or 192.168.60.X networks from my PC at home.
I have also added the route to the 10.20.30.X network on a PC on the 10.0.0.X network to go via 10.0.0.20 and tried pinging a PC on the 10.20.30.X network but this also has not worked. Also setting the default gateway on a PC on the 10.0.0.X network to 10.0.0.20 does not allow this...Surely bridging the networks 10.20.30.167 and 10.0.0.20 on my work PC would allow another PC on the 10.0.0.X network to access the 10.20.30.X network after adding the route or setting 10.0.0.20 as the default gateway?
I have two computers. Computer A is connected to the internet through GSM network. Computer A also have NIC adapter which is connected to local network with IP 192.168.33.10/24.
Computer B in connected to internet with DSL connection.
On both machines I use TeamViewer to make VPN secure tunnel between this two computers. Computer A gets IP:7.200.100.2 Computer B gets IP:7.200.100.3
How can I access from computer B to specific device with IP 192.168.33.250 which is on local network of computer A?
Is it possible to route traffic from VPN to other local network, or it is some possibility to use port forwarding from VPN connection to specific IP address on the local network to specific port number?
We have a PPPoE DSL link with a dedicated IP providing by a small ISP(ISP A) in Canada. We are having trouble reaching a small group of IPs in the US to be able to access some client resources.We have eliminated all possible local issues by removing the firewall and making a direct connection to the ISP. We have also had numerous tests prove successful when we use other local ISPs.
Trace routes show that the packets get dropped a few hops from the destination on a US ISP(ISP B).The routes even appear to be very similar to the other ISPs we tested. We escalated to ISP A and they say that everything is working properly on their end and the problem is with ISP B. They claim they "have no partnership with ISP B and therefore cannot create a ticket to get it resolved". I tried calling ISP B but I get nowhere because I am not a customer of theirs.
My solution is to give ISP A the boot, but management has denied that request because of the amount of effort required to switch over. How I can escalate this? Is there anyway to go over and above the ISPs?

But the problem is the Main router INTERNET, which it has to use Static in a direction, and default in the opposite path. This is the scheme of routers and how the r.protocol have to be configured.

i've had this internet problem that has been going on with a wireless laptop i've had since april. it only happens on this computer, and i've tried many solutions. occasionally, i will try and go to pages on google chrome and an error pops up that says "this webpage is not available." when i play games that are online, they get disconnected as well. i've added google chrome and my other browsers to the firewall list and i've also changed the DNS server. when i use the troubleshooter it says something like "router, or modem is not connected to the internet. i've even downloaded the "fix it" program and it detected no problems

Basically on a normal running day my wireless is switched on and connected perfect to my internet, however if i want to download any large files i plug my Ethernet to my laptop and disable the wireless from my laptop, instantly then the LAN connection kicks in and im on the internet again as i find download speeds are faster through a LAN. However today my wireless is fine but the second i switch to LAN the ! symbol appears and a message says their is an IP conflict.

I even downloaded a few just to see if I could connect with other clients.I contacted my host who can't recreate the issue on their end. I contacted my ISP who instructed me to use my command prompt in order to connect to their server, and that of mozilla. Both times I was able to connect via the command prompt.I don't understand what's going on.If I can connect to the sample sites that my ISP gave me, why can't I connect using an FTP client any longer. What possible change could have been made to have caused that disconnection that happened a few nights ago, and is now causing the timeouts I continue to receive?
