View 1 RepliesJust want to know if it is possible to have a 7500 Flex Controller Cluster in different Locations, like Germany an Australia?
This should be deployed as a redundant system, in case of a failure in one location the remaining Cluster can take over. Also the main maintenance/management should be done in the Headquarter (Germany). Is it possible to configure Guest Access via Web Interface.
Last question: how many AP`s can be managed, example: with one Controller 500 AP can I then manage 1000 with two controller?
I have to make a design for 150 sites, the large sites (40) will be controller based designs. But for the small sites (110) contains 3 APs, which will not have a controller onsite. (or should it be ??)Besides the overall management , which features do I miss if it is controller based or standalone APs.Like CleanAir , etc.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am planning on implementing a metro ethernet circuit to replace a more expensive circuit to connect my office and data center. This circuit will be configured by the provider in a 'transparent' manner, which will allow us to pass vlans freely over the circuit without having to create a QinQ tunnel. This is a layer 2 only metro ethernet circuit.Planning on connecting the office end to a 3750 (switch A) and the data center end to a 2960 (switch B). The data center end will have a couple of other 2960s hanging off of it for server connectivity (switches C & D). I plan to use a 2811 (router A)for layer 3 connectivity in the data center. Switch B will plug into router A and switches C & D will plug into switch B using two port-channelled links. I can post a diagram if needed.I will use rpvst here and configure switch B as the root bridge. There are about 10 vlans that I use between the office and data center. Router A is also used to connect to other environments such as staging, production and also to the internet. I think this should be a straight-forward configuration since it is mostly layer 2. Should switch B be the root bridge?

View 1 Replies View RelatedBecause of a virus, I recently had to reinstall Windows 7 on my laptop. Upon restarting, I found out that I cannot connect to the Internet using a wired connection (Ethernet cable). I tried going in the Device manager to try and troubleshoot the Network Adapters, but the only object in that category was "Intel (R) WiFi Link 5300 AGN". In a lower category, "Other Devices", I see two "Base System Device", one "Unknown Device" and one "Ethernet Controller", all of them with little yellow exclamation marks on the icon. I guessed the problem was the Ethernet Controller, so I tried "Update Driver...". It told me that it could not find a driver for my device.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMade a big mistake - Installed 64 bit Win7 professional on new HP that had 64 bit Win7 Home premium on it. Computer was a gift, bought as the last one available and was a demo model from Sam's club. Had no idea the ethernet card driver and the wireless software drivers would be lost, but they were, as was the driver for the USB hub. (Used an HP OEM disk purchased on line from Mountain software.)Where to get these drivers, and which ones do I need?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI did a clean install of Windows 7 32-bit on a Dell Optiplex 980. I don't know what driver is for the ethernet controller. Will you tell me? I just downloaded the INTEL_825XX-GIGABIT-PLATFORM_A06_R290983.exe (5MB). I don't know if this is it. I will try on Monday. Should I update the chipset driver too? What is the driver for that. I downloaded Intel_AMT-HECI_A05_R304259.exe (10MB). Is that right for the chipset?
View 2 Replies View Relatedi am experiencing some sort of issue with my Ethernet Controller. About an hour ago i had run a diagnostic report, (using my Norton 360 security program) while i scrolled down the report i came across an orange attention bubble that read "Inoperable Hardware Devices" then a chart lists hardware devices that aren't working, it looked like this:
Data Type Device Problem/ Description
-Device Type -Ethernet Controller
- Device Status -Device Drivers are not installed
(Code 28).
i tried to update the device but it doesn't work, it says that "windows was unable to install Ethernet Controller, ...Windows could not find driver software for your device"
my new build i installed a TP-link 300mbps wireless card, it will only however be recognised as ethernet controller and not the normal network adapter. So i put an old wireless card from another PC into mine and it works without a hitch comes up with network adapter in device manager and installs fine, and the problem card was put into an older PC and worked fine just like expected. Im really unsure on what could cause this and im not to sure about buying another card just get incase
my system info is(not sure if it matters)

I'm running my lan on the integrated network adapter "Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller" on my motherboard. When I plug in the lan line directly from my router the speed on speedtest.net is around 2 Mbps, i have tested on 2 other computers and they all get around 10 Mbps with the same line. I build this new machine to play games, and sank $800+ on it. I am trying very hard to figure out why my LAN speed is so slow.
I am worried it is a mother board defect, but it is unlikely as I can still browse the internet and stream video. I just get slower download speeds and more lag in games which defeats the purpose of building a gaming computer . I have disabled my avast and my windows firewall to test the speed.
I have also tried buying a wireless card (Netgear N300 Wireless PCI Adapter) and it peaks at around the same 2Mbps. My other computers get 6+ Mbps wireless on speedtest.net at the same location from the router.
Because both LAN and wireless seems to be caping out at 2Mbps could this be an indicator of some sort of internal limiter on internet speed? Or even worse, hardware defect? I'm going to get a USB wireless adapter tomorrow and test the speed.
Im unable to get my router working as my machine has no ethernet controllers installer.I have a dell, optiplex gx260. The lan in enabled in the Bios. I have searched and tried a number of driver None of which have worked, I have tried the 3com 3c905c txm, intel gigabit LOM, and im about to try the Intel 8254x1000 intregrated netwk driver (which i dont think'll work as its the same as the Lom one). if that doesnt work is it best to reinstall the chipset drivers?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI did a fresh install of Windows XP recently on my Dell Dimension 4550 and I'm having trouble getting on the internet. In the Device manager it has the '?' next to Ethernet Controller. I've read the other articles on this site but nothing has worked as of yet.I did another fresh install of XP (2nd time) and then started with the Chipset for Intel, still nothing.
The order for drivers installation says to install the DSS utility first, but I can't seem to find it in the Drivers & Downloads section for my Dimension 4550.
we just reinstall window xp because of some viruses. now that we put in our wireless notebook card window xp say ' Found New Hardware'
and under Hardware, Device manager, it pop up a yellow question mark and it say ' Ethernet Controller'. we already install the chipset driver and the 3com in the dell download pages for the 8200. i read some where that the 8200 come with the broadcom bcm5701 ethernet controller but im not sure.
I just reinstalled windows 7 on my Intel i3 M380 laptop, and now I cannot connect to the internet wirelessly and I can't connect with a ethernet cable. In device manager, it says those devices aren't installed. I can't install them because the laptop has no internet. I can't seem to find the drivers for them either on intel. Seems like the reinstallation deleted my network adapter.. I can't find the correct link on intel.. I've tried like 3-4 on my laptop and none of them seem to work..
