View 1 Replies View RelatedI have windows xp with asus motherboard p5kpl-am se. my issue is that I cannot get on the net. I know there is internet connection, but the computor won't recognise that fact. when I go to repair the internet connection, I get a message ( windows cannot detect any wired or wireless cards on your machine) things I have done is to download drivers for the ethernet card and also the motherboard chipset to see if that would work, but no change. the yellow question mark is still there.

I am using a Sony Vaio with the following Configurations Win 7 Professional 64 Bit SP 1 The Wireless adapter is Intel Centrino N 6230 with the drivers updated The LAN adapter is Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller
This laptop is pretty new and I had been experiencing some problems with Wifi and LAN connectivity to internet.
Initially there was a yellow mark over network icon but it allowed me to access Internet. I was not bothered then..Offlate this has turned ugly. The yellow icon would not allow me to connect to internet through wifi or LAN
Sometimes LAN would connect but now a days connecting to wifi has become a real task with most of the time having to trouble shoot the connection.
Troubleshooting gives me different suggestions which are as follows
a) DHCP not enabled over wireless networks....Trying to repair the same does not work
b) Your computer seems to have been configured properly.
c) Troubleshooting cannot solve the problem
I cannot connect to wifi in office and home. I had mcafee before but removed it completely using mcafee removal tool..
i'm using win7 and linux mint in my laptop. when i'm on linux i 'm able to connect in a specific ssid with my b43 driver. when i switch back to windows(broadcom a/b/g) i can not connect to this ssid-there is a yellow mark with limited connection. what do you think? is this a driver problem with win7. or win 7 driver has ''less power'' than linux's?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI tried to plug in the internet cable in my laptop i kept getting that yellow triangle with an exclamation mark on it (down in the right). i kept plug in and out the cable until i got connected. i use a cable/dsl router, having 2 computers connected in the same time. only mine gave this error, as the other ran perfectly in the meantime. what seems to be the problem? a virus/trojan?
View 1 Replies View Relatedmy router is sitecom gigabit 300N. since the past week there is this yellow exclamation mark on the connection in the task bar, near the clock. if I pass the mouse over it, it says no internet connection, eventhough I'm connected to the internet and I'm writing this right now, this is on desktop pc and connected to router by cable. the same thing on my laptop that is connected through WiFi, the signal strenght is normal, but there is the same exclamation mark. I'm pretty sure its the router not the PC because this happens on two different machines with the same router. I tried turning the router off and left it that way for about 7 minutes but that didnt work. is there something in settings I should do? or throw it away and buy Linksys/D-link router?
View 6 Replies View Relatedmy new build i installed a TP-link 300mbps wireless card, it will only however be recognised as ethernet controller and not the normal network adapter. So i put an old wireless card from another PC into mine and it works without a hitch comes up with network adapter in device manager and installs fine, and the problem card was put into an older PC and worked fine just like expected. Im really unsure on what could cause this and im not to sure about buying another card just get incase
my system info is(not sure if it matters)

Cisco E1000 router.connecting directly to the router, internet works. When connecting wirelessly, it works for about 2 minutes, then I get no connection and a yellow ! in the connection setting icon. No wireless internet will work until I power down and restart the router. Then the same problem continues.Today when trying it, it won't even connect for a few minutes. It shows as "connected" on my laptop but it has the yellow ! and will not access the internet. So I am no longer ever able to connect wirelessly. I've done a hard reset already.

interface FastEthernet0/1
description Uplink To Access Point
switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q

The switch shows the AP under sho cdp niegh but when I go to the controller and look at AP neigh nothing shows up. I am currently running a WLC 4404 with 4.2.209 ( yes the upgrade happens tomorrow ).
why the switch shows the neigh. but not the AP when looking from the controller?
I recently installed additional licenses on my 2 WLC 5508s. Then I installed NCS on a virtual appliance. Installed the NCS license, added the controllers, refreshed configs, created templates, etc. However, when I go to look at the License Center, I can't see any controller licenses. When I log directly on to the controllers themselves, the licenses say they are installed and "in use". I've looked all over and cannot determine why the controller licenses do not show up.
NCS version: 1.1.0.58
WLC version: 7.2.103.0
My attempts to connect me and my girlfriend's laptops together for some LAN gaming with an ethernet cable has had some odd problems, with my LAN connection showing up as an Unidentified, Public Network which I cannot edit in any way whatsoever. I'm at a loss. I've tried setting a static IP and it didn't appear to work at all.The network bridge is to use my laptop as a wireless adaptor for my Xbox.

My Ethernet is not showing up in device manager or Network Connections. I've checked the bios and it is enabled. I've also tried to install the drivers, but at the end of the install this error message pops up " the Realtek Network Controller was not found. If Deep sleep mode is enabled please plug the cable"

View 5 Replies View Relatedhave had a new HP G62-234DX laptop for about 4 months now and I'm now having problems connecting to the internet via ethernet. The lights do not come up when I plug it into the port and I have already tried to download the Ethernet driver from HP but it didn't seem to install properly, tells me it only works for Windows Vista which isn't true. I checked my device manager also and saw that I only have my wireless network adapter showing which works fine because I've been connecting wireless but I need a wired connection when I do not have wifi at my university. On device manager I chose 'show hidden devices' and I saw an unnecessary amount of "Microsoft 6to4 adapters" come up which does not seem right.

View 1 Replies View RelatedBecause of a virus, I recently had to reinstall Windows 7 on my laptop. Upon restarting, I found out that I cannot connect to the Internet using a wired connection (Ethernet cable). I tried going in the Device manager to try and troubleshoot the Network Adapters, but the only object in that category was "Intel (R) WiFi Link 5300 AGN". In a lower category, "Other Devices", I see two "Base System Device", one "Unknown Device" and one "Ethernet Controller", all of them with little yellow exclamation marks on the icon. I guessed the problem was the Ethernet Controller, so I tried "Update Driver...". It told me that it could not find a driver for my device.

Computer was a gift, bought as the last one available and was a demo model from Sam's club. Had no idea the ethernet card driver and the wireless software drivers would be lost, but they were, as was the driver for the USB hub. (Used an HP OEM disk purchased on line from Mountain software.)Where to get these drivers, and which ones do I need?

I downloaded Intel_AMT-HECI_A05_R304259.exe (10MB). Is that right for the chipset?
View 2 Replies View Relatedi am experiencing some sort of issue with my Ethernet Controller. About an hour ago i had run a diagnostic report, (using my Norton 360 security program) while i scrolled down the report i came across an orange attention bubble that read "Inoperable Hardware Devices" then a chart lists hardware devices that aren't working, it looked like this:
Data Type Device Problem/ Description
-Device Type -Ethernet Controller
- Device Status -Device Drivers are not installed
(Code 28).
i tried to update the device but it doesn't work, it says that "windows was unable to install Ethernet Controller, ...Windows could not find driver software for your device"

I'm running my lan on the integrated network adapter "Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller" on my motherboard. When I plug in the lan line directly from my router the speed on speedtest.net is around 2 Mbps, i have tested on 2 other computers and they all get around 10 Mbps with the same line. I build this new machine to play games, and sank $800+ on it. I am trying very hard to figure out why my LAN speed is so slow.
I am worried it is a mother board defect, but it is unlikely as I can still browse the internet and stream video. I just get slower download speeds and more lag in games which defeats the purpose of building a gaming computer . I have disabled my avast and my windows firewall to test the speed.
I have also tried buying a wireless card (Netgear N300 Wireless PCI Adapter) and it peaks at around the same 2Mbps. My other computers get 6+ Mbps wireless on speedtest.net at the same location from the router.
Because both LAN and wireless seems to be caping out at 2Mbps could this be an indicator of some sort of internal limiter on internet speed? Or even worse, hardware defect? I'm going to get a USB wireless adapter tomorrow and test the speed.
Im unable to get my router working as my machine has no ethernet controllers installer.I have a dell, optiplex gx260. The lan in enabled in the Bios. I have searched and tried a number of driver None of which have worked, I have tried the 3com 3c905c txm, intel gigabit LOM, and im about to try the Intel 8254x1000 intregrated netwk driver (which i dont think'll work as its the same as the Lom one). if that doesnt work is it best to reinstall the chipset drivers?
