i'm using win7 and linux mint in my laptop. when i'm on linux i 'm able to connect in a specific ssid with my b43 driver. when i switch back to windows(broadcom a/b/g) i can not connect to this ssid-there is a yellow mark with limited connection. what do you think? is this a driver problem with win7. or win 7 driver has ''less power'' than linux's?
View 2 Repliesmy router is sitecom gigabit 300N. since the past week there is this yellow exclamation mark on the connection in the task bar, near the clock. if I pass the mouse over it, it says no internet connection, eventhough I'm connected to the internet and I'm writing this right now, this is on desktop pc and connected to router by cable. the same thing on my laptop that is connected through WiFi, the signal strenght is normal, but there is the same exclamation mark. I'm pretty sure its the router not the PC because this happens on two different machines with the same router. I tried turning the router off and left it that way for about 7 minutes but that didnt work. is there something in settings I should do? or throw it away and buy Linksys/D-link router?

I am using a Sony Vaio with the following Configurations Win 7 Professional 64 Bit SP 1 The Wireless adapter is Intel Centrino N 6230 with the drivers updated The LAN adapter is Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller
This laptop is pretty new and I had been experiencing some problems with Wifi and LAN connectivity to internet.
Initially there was a yellow mark over network icon but it allowed me to access Internet. I was not bothered then..Offlate this has turned ugly. The yellow icon would not allow me to connect to internet through wifi or LAN
Sometimes LAN would connect but now a days connecting to wifi has become a real task with most of the time having to trouble shoot the connection.
Troubleshooting gives me different suggestions which are as follows
a) DHCP not enabled over wireless networks....Trying to repair the same does not work
b) Your computer seems to have been configured properly.
c) Troubleshooting cannot solve the problem
I cannot connect to wifi in office and home. I had mcafee before but removed it completely using mcafee removal tool..
I tried to plug in the internet cable in my laptop i kept getting that yellow triangle with an exclamation mark on it (down in the right). i kept plug in and out the cable until i got connected. i use a cable/dsl router, having 2 computers connected in the same time. only mine gave this error, as the other ran perfectly in the meantime. what seems to be the problem? a virus/trojan?

I know there is internet connection, but the computor won't recognise that fact. when I go to repair the internet connection, I get a message ( windows cannot detect any wired or wireless cards on your machine) things I have done is to download drivers for the ethernet card and also the motherboard chipset to see if that would work, but no change. the yellow question mark is still there.

Anyways when my mom first gave it to me it had an internet problem. Said limited connectivity and would not connect. Someone told me to restart the computer and the internet magically started working again. It didn't work this time.

These did use to work in July. Can't detect an event when started to go wrong, though could blame Windows Update! Did try System Restore but these keep failing. Using Kaspersky.

View 14 Replies View RelatedJust bought a new Cisco e1200 router last week. When i first hooked it up, it was giving me extremely low (significantly lower than my old router) downloading speeds. After switching the networking mode from "mixed' to "Wireless-G only", the speeds went back to normal. I tried "Wireless-N only", but it didn't work after that. Seemingly, my computer does not work with Wirless-N?
It's been running okay now, but 2 things happen occasionally: When playing a game, I experience lag for a period of 5 minutes, or sometimes 20 minutes. It goes away on its own. Never happened with my old router. When surfing the internet, pages will refuse to load. The connection bars shown at the bottom right hand corner of my computer display a yellow triangle with an exclamation point. This goes away on its own after about 4-5 minutes. These problems come randomly every 3-4 or days, maybe a bit longer.
I can't connect to the internet using our wireless router. The signal is excellent but there's a yellow triangle with an exclamation point. It says that there is limited access. I tried resetting the router, checked all the plugs, restarted my laptop., all to no avail. I tried connecting using my phone, and I can go online so the problem lies with my laptop.
I checked my device manager and under Networks, the 6TO4 adapters has a yellow triangle with exclamation point. With a code 10 error. I have several E4200 routers deployed in our library district. In one branch, we have been having sporadic problems with computers not being able to maintain a connection. Typically the computer will connect and then the connection will drop and Windows will display the yellow error triangle on the wifi signal strength display.I have swapped the router with another brand new E4200 with the latest firmware but am still having this problem.

Another wireless laptop runs from house 2 and connects to the modem in house 1. However the signal on the laptop in house 2 has become very weak and keeps dropping out. I have tested my laptop in house 2 and the signal is strong in both houses and have tested the problem laptop in house 1 and the signal is strong but very weak in house 2. I have had the modem checked and all is working OK. I have had the wireless card in the problem laptop checked and it is working well off the premises. The only thing left to check is the electrical connect between the 2 house.

I'm trying to setup a router in my moms house. She has DSL and when the box is connected directly to her computer everything works fine. However, if I connect the router her computer reads "Limited or No Connectivity". I can connect to the router wired and wirelessly with my laptop, phone, and even her streaming media box without any problems. I ran IP config and i'm not geting a default gateway address.

After resetting the PC however I get message in the task-bar that the connection is limited and I may not be able to access some Internet resources. When I click on Fix button it tells me that windows can not fix the problem because it can not turn off the device? The device has a static IP in the APIPA range (169.254.2.1). When it is connected to PC, Windows allocates a dynamic APIPA IP (169.254.x.x) to the RNDIS adapter. I have confirmed that there is proper connectivity with the device (I can ping it, can access a web server on the device etc.).But the problem is that after Windows allocates the dynamic IP, a 'limited or no network connectivity' message is displayed in system tray.
Since the device & software will go out in the market, display of this message (& exclamation mark on the network tray icon) is undesirable. I know that it can be suppressed by setting property of network adapter, but would prefer a solution that would not require end users to do any settings using APIPA addresses is essential as we would like to avoid conflicts with end users' LAN addresses.
i am pretty good with computers but this problems got me stumped, my old desktop dell deminsions 4400 will not connect to my home network. So I first reinstalled the driver and plugged the wire in and like magic i had internet. so i took it up stairs, no internet connection. so i whipped out my handy dandy laptop and plug the wire into the cat5 port and i had internet. so this is telling me the wires in my walls are working, my router and modem are working, and my pc is doing something crazy when it changes elevation. None of the troubleshooting options have worked and my security software is giving me warnings; but is unable to scan or update. I've rebooted, done a system restore and reset my IP settings via DOS, which has not worked either. Upon start up, icon states it is connected but will not connect to the internet. When attmpting to Repair connection, Windows is then unable to fix the problem. All other devices work normally on the home network (Laptop, Xbox360).
I have also tried 3 different Restore points, but Windows states it is unable to restore to this point and to select another Restore point on each attempt.

I found out my onboard ethernet port was fried, so i went out an bought a RTL8139D ethernet PCI adapter. I fitted the adapter and plugged my cable in. It said Limited or no connectivity. After hours and hours of googling I tried everything. I changed the protocols, created static Ip's went into cmd and reset winsock catalogs, release/renew etc. The cable I am using worked previously in my room and it still works. (I took a laptop up to my room and plugged in the cable and had internet connection). So... I took my PC downstairs and used a different cable. This successfully connected me to the internet. That Rules out that my new ethernet card is the problem. MY cable also allows others to connect to the internet. Windows 7 64X Ultimate edition.
