Internet Working But Second Laptop Not Connecting?
Mar 8, 2011I can connect to the internet wireless but my daughter is unable to connect with her laptop. She is showing that she is connected but when she tries to click on the internet explorer it tells her that the Internet Explorere cannot display the webpage.

The internet works fine on both desktop since they're plugged via Ethernet, but my wireless connection is giving me a hard time on my laptop. I know the wireless works cause I have 2 iphones and they're connected via wifi and works fine. It's just this laptop that is having problems. when I click on connect to wireless, it does but it doesn't show the proper "connected" icon (when it's connected it shows two monitors and a small world, now it's just the two monitors without the world)

When Close And Open Laptop / Internet Stops Working
Nov 12, 2012I boot up my computer. I close it over. come back later. open it. Computer will connect but with the small yellow triangle. Thing is though, it's only my computer that ever has issues with my internet connection. My sisters laptop has never had an issue with out internet. Yet my laptop is able to connect to the neighbors internet fine. The solution to my problem almost all of the time is to simply reboot my computer, which solves the problem(most of the time). But i'm getting so sick of having to do it. The other times when a reboot doesn't work I have to manually reset the internet. As i'm typing this I'm on my neighbors internet. my sister is connected fine to our internet but my laptop simply won't work with it so i'll have to reset it when i'm finished this Some useful information might be that this problem only started happening ever since my computer got wiped.I've tried updating the drivers but apparently they're up to date.

Nov 30, 2011my laptop when I'm on any web browser (Chrome, IE, Firefox, etc.) it will say I'm not connected to the internet and stay that way for a minute. Any downloads and stuff I have going still download though and it shos that I am still connected to the internet with excellent strength. This happens with both wireless and Ethernet connection. The only way I can fix it is by disconnecting form the internet and connecting again, even that though only works for like 20 seconds and then it says I'm disconnected again and I have to disconnect and reconnect again.
I don't think its internet connection point either because all my friends and school laptops and desktops have no problems connecting and don't disconnect.

Linksys Wireless Router :: E4200 Internet Stopped Working On Laptop
Jul 11, 2012I purchased an e4200 about 6 months ago and it worked great until the other night the Internet stopped working on my laptop (wireless). I tried unplugging both my modem (Motorola Surfboard) and router and plugging them back in, but no luck. I can accesss the Internet when plugged directly into the router (with both my PC and laptop), so it looks like the issue is with the e4200. To make matters worse (and I fear much worse), I can't even access the admin page to the router through either the Cisco Connect software or through the IP address. I've tried resetting it, I've tried the 30/30/30 reset (holding the reset button while doing an unplug and pluging back in), and reinstalling the Cisco Connect software, all to no avail.
I've found threads where others have not been able to access the admin page, but they still had access to the Internet url... I haven't found a similar thread where the router doesn't seem to work at all. A few other bits of information I can think of (let me know if there's other information I can provide):The Cisco logo light flashes slowly after reset which I believe is expected.The lights in back of the router seem to work as intended.Running Windows 7 Diagnostics finds the connection "doesn't have a valid IP configuration" and "The default gateway is not available."

A few days ago my internet suddenly stopped working. I plugged in the ethernet cord and everything worked fine. Checking the properties in the device manager showed the device was working properly, I also tried resetting it to make sure it was enabled but it did not work.
Upon troubleshooting, the "Windows Network Diagnostic" said the problems was that the Wireless adapter was not turned on. Using the switch on the front of the laptop as well as the function keys does nothing. Usually a graphic pops up showing if the WiFi is on or off, changinging transparent to show the WiFi is disabled. Now when I turn the switch on it always appears transparent, effectively going from off to off
So I know the computer reads both the function keys and the switch on the front but both methods never actually turns the adapter on. I just finished a system restore and nothing has changed

My WiFi says that I am connected to an Unidentified network with no internet access. So i got frustrated and checked all the forums and nothing seemed to work. So i restored my computer to factory settings and I still got this problem. Does this mean my Wifi Card is bad? Is it a virus? I can see other networks fine but i just cant connect to mine!

Jan 5, 2011I have a Dell Dimension 4400 pc (XP SP3) connected to Linksys WRT54G2 v1.5 router with no issues. Dell Inspirion (XP) connected to router with Linksys WPC54G Wireless notebook adapter with no issues for months. A couple of days ago, purchased a Vizio Blu Ray DVD Player (VBR220) with WiFi. I connected the Vizio to the network by entering the router pin into the Vizio network set up. It worked perfectly. However at the same time, the laptop network connection dropped, and I had not been able to reconnect, although it does recognize the network signal. I click connect to the network, enter the pass phrase (using WEP 26), but it does not connect to the access point. I disabled both firewalls, but still got the same result. I attempted using the WiFi Protected Setup, and the router advised me connection failed, while the laptop advised me the same thing. When I disabled security on the router, I was able to connect to the network via laptop, however, when I restored the security on the router, the laptop could no longer connect. Today, I reset the router, restored factory default settings and reinstalled everything. The laptop was able to connect with no problem. I again connected the Vizio by inputing the router pin into the Blu Ray network settings. Again it connected with no problem, but again the laptop connection was lost immediately, and I'm again unable to restore network connection on the laptop.

Mar 19, 2011So here is what happened, it started two days ago. I use a wifi connection at work, it's an unsecure wifi and I don't know where it comes from. But I am able to get on here at work and do stuff... two days ago I tried and it let me on like normal, but then I couldn't get on websites, it said local access only... so I was like mmm that's odd and the little CD looking thing wasn't there it was just two computers on the bottom right hand corner of the screen. So I restarted after attempting a few times... same problem, finally after a while it let me online but it was very slow and kept kicking me off. When I would try to reconnect sometimes it wouldn't let me and it would give me the option to diagnose the problem or try a new network, I'd move around and finally get on.
I restored back to a day when it was working fine, I did a disc clean up, I used my CCleaner, I defragged my laptop. Still the same problem, my laptop is a Gateway computer running on Windows Vista... so today at first my wifi wouldn't work unless I was standing and holding it... which I found the higher in the air the better it stays connected it seems sometimes.I chatted with gateway and they gave me a few links to download which failed to download once they got to like 30% or so, so I am all out of options I downloaded the wifi link here Download free driver for notebook Gateway ML3109 (Windows 7, XP, Vista) - DriverPack Solutio since that is my laptop

Sep 10, 2011So my new msi GT683r has an Intel Centrino Wireless N-130 card. It plays nicely with my newer N band routers, but it can't connect to my old WRT54G (no N obviously).
For some reason my computer can't connect a solid G signal. It connects and disconnects (Solid 4 bars one minute yellow triangle the next) seemingly frequently. Packets surge as well. I may send and receive 10k packets one time every minute or so, but no more than 150k or so.
I've troubleshot essentially everything I can, from upgraded drivers, resetting the router + new WPA, etc, and no go.
WRT54G works fine. All my devices are connected to it except my new msi laptop.
Laptop Can't Acquire Working IP Address Wired
Mar 8, 2011. The laptop can connect to the internet using the wifi card. However, it cannot connect to the internet when using the wired connection but it can be pinged from other machines at work. The NIC does not pick up a different IP address even after releasing and renewing the IP address through cmd. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the NIC. The NIC is working because when I set a static IP address the machine can connect to the net. Using DHCP it goes back to that same IP address. I have tried a winsock repair as well with no go, as well as taking the machine off the domain and re-joining it. Anyone see this before? Is there something I can do on my end to get a different IP address through DHCP or do I have to get a Network engineer involved? This is a machine on a corporate LAN.

I thought it was the browser so I installed the Internet Explorer 9 and while doing so it was able to download the updates but when I open up the browser it still doesn't work.
I'm thinking that it might be a network problem but I've ran out of ideas. I have a netgear router that's connecting a desktop computer, two VOIP devices, my sisters Mac works but we have two laptop that aren't working. 3G Not Working On Acer Aspire 1830 Laptop?
Jan 25, 2012I have an ACER Aspire 1830 (netbook) and has 3g build in according to the teacher, and it obviously is in because the sim has been put in the laptop (The scrap is in the box from the sim). Everytime I try to use it it says that my APN is incorrect.
I have taken a few steps to try and fix this:
1. I have changed the APN to all of the possible ones from Telstra (telstra.internet, telstra.data, etc.), and none of them seemed to have worked.
2. I asked a friend who has the same laptop whos 3g IS working to check the details on his laptop, and there is no APN or user/pass in his laptop.

Jan 24, 2012When I check the strength sometimes it indicates it's good if I'm practically sitting on top of the router, this seems to eventually degrade to low until finally the connection drops.Repairing' with XP repair facility doesn't work. I can forget about getting a connection if I move further away from the router. At the moment I'm relying on using an ethernet cable snaking across the dining room, which isn't really practical with a toddler and a dog racing around. Recently a friend put a bigger HD in and before this it was working fine, so I suspect that it may be due to this. I think it's due to the wirless card in the laptop, as I have a number of other devices in the house which all work fine.
