Internet works fine for a few minutes(around 2-5 usually), then it completely stops. It doesn't say it was disconnected, it just stops.Wireless has been working just fine the past few days.) We have used a desktop computer with this type of setup before and it worked just fine, that desktop was like a 2001 Dell that could barely stay on.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I have 2 laptops, a win 7 and a win 8,The windows 7 laptop works on the internet fine, but the windows 8 one always disconnects, even when the win 7 isn't on.It disconnects usually when I'm running multiple programs that use the internet on it, but when I run a game like counter-strike, it disconnects too, but not nearly as often.The router is from 2008 or 2009, but it's a tiny aztech one. I'm sure it's not the isp, because like I said, the other laptop works fine.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo,I'm living in a university campus and I've got an internet connection via a proxy server.The thing is,when ever I plug in the network cable,my PC recognizes the network,but the little network tray says "No internet access". But the curious thing is that the internet actualy works.My browser works,I can access any website (well,except the restricted ones via proxy) but it works just like any other internet connection in the campus. But,recently I've got my hands on a VPN account to have access to things that my proxy wouldn't allow me (torrents for example).But,probably because of that "No internet access" problem,when ever I try to make that VPN account,it tells me that I need to connect to the internet first. I already am,but my PC still keeps requiring an internet connection.I can't manualy connect to it,since I don't have the ISP data required. I've only got my VPN account data (VPN username and password).
This is kind of annoying,since this only happens to me,my other room mates don't have this problem,they plug in their cables,their network adapters recognize both the network and the internet access. Only mine says "No internet access" but the internet works fine.My operating system is genuine,when ever I go home and connect to my home network this problem doesn't ocure anymore,this only happens when I connect to my university's internet connection.I've tried reinstalling my operating system.Still no results.I'll attach a printscreen so you could see exactly what I mean.

View 2 Replies View RelatedAs of two days ago my DIR-655 seems to have stopped loading webpages every 10-30minutes for periods of up to 5-15 minutes, as in they the reloading icon will constantly be circling and the webpage remains blank, no error or anything until it says failed to load on my web browser (tried multiple browsers such as Safari, Chrome, IE and Firefox). This problem occurs on every computer on my network, laptops (both Mac and PC) and desktops. When this problem occurs all lights on modem and router seem to be normal no signs of anything going down but I originally thought that this affected wired and wireless but I seem to have narrowed it to culprit being the wireless. When connected to the PC I can browse for an indefinite amount of time without the webpages failing to respond, however when I connected to WiFi through Airport on a Macbook Air my webpages start to begin failing to load around 5-10 minutes of browsing which affects all computers connected to the network (essentially all computers failing to respond to the internet during this outage).
Interestingly when this problem occurs, if I am connected to Skype or Aim it will stay connected and I can still chat with people but I will not be able to sign onto AIM if the problem occurs before I sign on and I try to sign on during the outage. If I am streaming a video from justin.tv or ustream it still continues to stream during this "outage".I have the revB of the DIR-655 and have tried resetting the modem, turning off the firewall, upgrading firmware to 2.03NA from 2.01NA and setting the MTU to 1400 (default 1500) with nothing working. I am using Time Warner Wideband ISP and have connected the modem directly to my PC and for the 30minutes or so that I tested the web browsing it seemed fine and did not have any errors.
We have FIOS at our home. All the wall connections for ethernet are wired to the control panel in our house which are then connected to a wired router. We have another wireless router in the upstairs which gets internet through the wall port and it works fine.We had another downstairs wireless router in the living room that was working fine as well, but I reset it for certain reasons and it no longer works properly. All the proper lights light up: internet, port, power but the computer can only connect to the network and not the internet for some reason.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a new Dell Vostro 3360 with a Dell Wireless 1703 802.11b/g/n (2.4GHz) card. No internet access (wireless) from my home (other notebooks work perfect). LAN works fine. I have a AVM Fritz!Box 7360SL router at home.
On the other hand, wireless internet works fine at my lab (here : 802.11g, unsecured hotspot). Installed latest drivers and did even a clean re-installation (Windows 7 ultimate or professional) - problem remained.
My internet connection suddenly stops for about 30 minutes of using it. I need to restart so that I can connect again.

My downloads are charted so I can see my speed never drops at all.but my web browsing will just STOP, for ~30 seconds. I'll have multiple tabs just STOP and crap out, while my downloads run fine. This also happens when I'm not downloading, so I know it's not a bandwidth issue,i assumed it was a router issue until I replaced my router and am getting the same issue.

Then for the last few days i can't get on skype, LoL, or any other program that uses the internet. I can get onto websites and such( using firefox) except i can not load youtube videos, otherwise my internet disconnects for a minute or so.

I originally was using a wireless usb adapter so i blamed it for the cause of the lag. (My pings were fine btw) I went to ethernet for a week and the lag went away so everything is fine via ethernet. Pertinent info:
-I'm connecting to a Linksys WRT610N router via a wireless USB adaptor, Netgear WNDA3100v2;
-Service is Time Warner Roadrunner cable;
-There is no IP conflict as I've got DHCP range set from .200-.249 and this machine's static is .100;
-All the other devices in the house are on static starting with .101 up and they all work fine, both wired and wirelessly;
-Can see and connect to all devices in the LAN, including the router, but nothing outside
Earlier my desktop was to b in d same place where the router was der. Everything worked fine. Now I decided to shift my desktop to another room. I have kept the router at the earlier place only. I have brought a 25m long new cat 5 cable. When I connected it to my desktop, the orange led on ethernet port do not light up and the desktop is unable to detect the ethernet cable and hence the internet connection. On the router, a light of ethernet keeps on blinking every 1 second. I was worried whether my ethernet port got fried. So i inserted another ethernet cable, but then the ethernet orange light came and the pc detedted the connection. Therefore I thought the cable might be faulty. Therefore I connected my laptop with that 25m cable. But my laptop detected it and showed the internet connection. But now when i again connect the cable to my desktop, there's no light and the pc does not detect it. However, if i connect the 25m cable to my desktop then during boot the ethernet light on router is stable just as when it is normally connected to the internet. But when i go into windows it starts blinking every 1 second.

Laptop- HP 2000
Windows 7 Ultimate on both desktop and laptop.
I can follow directions and am fairly tech-savvy, just don't have the time to troubleshoot this stuff and run my business. Here's the rundown:Router:Cisco Linksys E1000 V2
-working fine until I unplugged to move it and plugged it in
-verified with tech support the problem is not physical
-right now, am hardwired to the router, which is hardwired to the cable modem, and connectivity is fine through hardwiring

View 12 Replies View RelatedI turn my laptop on, start browsing in the internet, etc. A few minutes later I can't do anything. Pages won't load, skype stops working. So I go to Wireless Connections, disconnect from the channel and connect again. After that the internet is back and working fine. Same thing happens a few minutes later. I'm assuming that the problem's with my laptop, because phone still has internet connection and before my desktop PC broke it was working OK (with wired connection). My wireless card (not sure how it's called) is Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230.

View 10 Replies View RelatedJust installed an E3000 in my house. All wired PCs are working fine on the network, and my BlackBerry connects to the wireless signal just fine. I got an AE1000 for my laptop. It installs fine, sees the wireless signals (secure and guest) fine, but it simply won't connect to the E3000 either using the Easy Key I created with the Cisco Connect software or by manually entering the WPA2 passphrase. The WZC window that shows the networks tries to connect and then fails with no error message. Using the Cisco Connect software to do the same task also fails, and after entering the passphrase manually there, the error message is:

Operating system: Windows XP SP 3
Software version: 1.1.10049.0
Also, I can find nothing on the laptop since installing the adapter that allows me to switch between the dual bands. Since that was one of the main advertising points for the AE1000, how do you control which band it's using?
Recently added a NookColor to my toys. Works fine except at home. The device shakes hands with the router but won't connect. Nook connects seamlessly with every other network I've tried. Had my Bro-in-law over with his Anfroid based mobile devices and they won't connect either. We currently are running 4 boxes (2 @ desktop and laptop) off this router with no problems.As near as I can figure the latest firmware update (2007) can't handle the Android OS protocol and while they recognize each other they won't speak or play nice.Any options y'all know of short of replacing the router with a shiny new one ?

When I try downloading from fileserve it starts downloading and after maybe 3-4 mb it stops for no reason also in JDownloader it starts and after 3-4 mb it says no permission to write to hard disk all other filehosts are working fine and all other downloads work perfect.I'm using ESET smatr security but I'm disabling Web access Protection and the firewall is set to learning mode so all attempts of any application to connect to the internet would be allowed

No status lights turn on at any point (e.g. syst, xps...). 10g network module is installed with a 10g LRM SFP. All lights on the module are amber. However, it passes according to POST. Switch passes traffic, obeys config, etc. Link lights on RJ45 ports work fine. This was brand new out of the box. Thinking about trying IOS reload..

My network consists of two Macbooks, an iMac and two iPhones. It utilizes WAP2 encryption and all devices are well within range, the environment being free of interferences from any other WiFi signals (this is a rural area).
My problem: Bonjour networking stops working after a few minutes or hours. When the problem appears, WIRED devices can see all other peers in the network (both wired and wireless), but WIRELESS devices cannot see any other peers whatsoever (wired or wireless).
I have heard that this could be because of a faulty implementation of uPNP by Linksys, and in particular a problem with multicast filtering (and unfortunately the modem/router's firmware does not provide any relevant settings). But I am not sure.
I purchased this thing with the express purpose to use it on a Mac-only network, and I am thoroughly disappointed to see that it does not work, especially since UPNP is supposed to be supported.
I have a lenovo v570 with 6gb of ram installed running windows 7 sp1 64 bit along with an intel centrino wireless-n 6150 card. After multiple fresh installs of windows 7 I have been unable to get my wireless card to work until I flashed the bios. After I start windows again I am able to use wireless, that is until I reboot. I get an error that the device cannot start (code 10). I thought there was something wrong with the hardware itself yet every single time I perform a bios flash the wireless works just wonderfully and never disconnects. I kept my laptop on for 3 days and wireless worked fine until reboot. I also noticed that it shows 6gb of RAM is available and then after the reboot I only noticed 5.92gb of RAM available. I don't know if this is a clue as to what is going on but I am investigating this matter myself now. I have yet to find any fixes and I am just looking into the matter personally as there is no reason to use an external wireless card if the internal will work properly. I refuse to be defeated by such issues. I am going to attempt to do a bios flash where I know wireless will work and use older drivers and systematically go down the line to see if a reboot makes the wireless fail on any other supported drivers. Currently Lenovo and Intel has numerous drivers and all tested have been failures so it's time to back to something older and even potentially another models drivers entirely. I would also like to point out that my bios does give me an option to enable/disable wifi as well as a switch on the laptop. I checked to see if either one of these are faulty and neither seem to be. I did notice a bug that the bios update supposedly fixed which happened to be where the boot order made a difference on whether the wifi worked or not. It seems that if the cd was in the boot order first it would prevent the wifi from working.

It worked fine initially for a day or two with great wireless coverage, even in the previously low-signal spots in the house.Then the problems started. The router now has trouble loading any website. What you get is instead a page returned from the router saying something along the lines of "network unreachable, please check you internet settings" (I will go there today or tomorrow so I'll update the post with the specific error). Refreshing the page a few times sometimes makes it load, but extremely slow and then the same thing happens again a few moments later. The same thing happens on both wifi and through the router's LAN ports. If I connect a computer directly to the modem it works just fine, as it has always done before getting this router.I have disable QoS, NAT endpoint filtering and the firewall (SPI). I have also set the WAN port speed to 100Mbit/s in the router, to match what the modem is set to (also had issues with the default setting).

View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter connecting to the internet on my laptop, the internet connection will work great for 10 minutes or less than it slows down drastically or essentially not working at all. If I disconnect and reconnect it will work again but just for a short amount of time. The wireless connection works great on iPod, IPhone, and tablet. Downloaded Kaspersky Antivirus which said it fixed some viruses but internet got worse after that. Tried restoring the computer to factory settings and the internet stays connected for what seem a few minutes longer.

My service seems fine as my cable/VOIP telephone/wifi work great. I'm not sure how to detect my ISP settings. In 'device manager' it shows that the teredo tunneling adapter will not start. I don't know what that is or if its important here.
