View 1 Replies View RelatedRecently I have changed my ISP and switched from an ADSL (4Mbps) connection to a faster fiber connection (100Mbps). I own an WAG120N which after firmware 1.00.12 (currently installed on the device is 1.00.16) should allow LAN1 to be used as WLAN. This is true and I can use it to connect to the new provider.
However the speed when using LAN1 as WLAN on WAG120N is very slow: download 20Mbps and upload 10Mbps. The LED on LAN1 is orange instead of green as before. I have tested the ISP connection with an WRT160NL and the speeds are much faster: download/upload 87Mbps
I am using linksys cisco wag120n adsl2 modem router. When I start the router the internet speed seems great but after some time the speed drops miserably. When I again restart the router the speed seems great for few mins but again drops after sometime. It happens in both LAN and wireless mode. The firmware version of the router is 1.00.16
I was going through the problems posted by some other user but observed that cisco people are not heraing to them.Seems made a mistake by associating with cisco product. This is the worst router I have ever used. The wireless also gets disconnected abruptly.Next time I'll avoid cisco.Cisco is all about stone age products and zero customer care.
i'v recently bought a WAG120N for my home and set it up after that i checked that my wireless link speed on my laptop is 72mbps instead 150mbps after a few googling ive found that 150mbps is only avalaible on 40MHz radio band but in setup page i only found 20MHz.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently swapped routers from a dlink to a Cisco WAG120N, from what I can see the wireless is flaky on this device and has led me to switching the wireless off for my sanity and to stop the complaints of my family when they attached to an access point that suddenly disappeared and then reappeared and disappeared, you get the picture.
What I cannot understand is why when it comes to port forwarding did the developers add the local LAN prefix so for example as default the local LAN interface is 192.168.1.1 and the port forwarding screen is completed to forward a port to a host with address 192.168.1.X by stipulating the prefix I am unable to use the router to port forward to hosts that live beyond by local LAN.This added to the wireless being disabled is becoming a very expensive branded door stop.
Is there any way to disable WPS feature on my WAG120?
View 1 Replies View RelatedJust bought this WAG120N and using the CD Setup it gets as far as Install Gateway then displays its not connected properly. Checked everything it says to check.Im swapping from an ordinary adsl modem but i unplugged all of that and the WAG120N shows steady Power , 1 ethernet number lit and flashing ok, Wireless is lit and DSL is also also lit. Rebooted a few times too.

I need to configure a WAG 120 N as a bridge, so I can have my public IP as an output of an Ethernet port. I need this configuration because I have a non ADSL router managing VPNs and needs the public IP on the WAN port of this router.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy WAG120N does not allow airprint from ipad/ipod to HP photosmart wireless printer. When i replace the linksys router with an old netgear one all works well and the ipad can find the printer and print. Enable the Linksys router and the printer is no longer found on the ipad. other forums suggest this relates to handling of the Bonjour protocol ... any resolution for this so i dont have to go back to legacy speed on my home wifi?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using WAG120N, and it keeps disconnected from internet randomly, normally between 5-10 minutes. The thing is, when it is disconnected, the adsl lamp is still on, so I think that it is not the network problem. When internet lamp turns off , I try to turn off the device (or unplug the phone cable), then turn it on again (or re-plug the cable), and it will work for certain minutes, then gets disconnected again. I already upgraded the firmware to v 1.00.12.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWe have a customer who has a WAG120N as their broadband wireless router, and we've sold them some new equipment, part of which is another WAG120N as our salesperson didn't realise they had one. They have a section of the building which the current WAG120N will not reach. Reading around this forum, it seems that I can give the second WAG120N a different static IP on the LAN and use it to expand the range of the WLAN.If I've read correctly, I need to make all the wireless stuff exactly the same except to use different wireless channels on each router. But what do I do with the DHCP server on the second WAG? Is it fair to say that the clients won't suddenly jump to a different IP because they won't have a cause to request a new one? I read one comment that suggested the second should be configured for DHCP relay, and another which contradicted this. Presumably I just don't configure the ADSL on the second WAG as that will only connect to the LAN.
