Linksys Cable / DSL :: Wag120n Internet Speed Drops With Time

I am using linksys cisco wag120n adsl2 modem router.When I start the router the internet speed seems great but after some time the speed drops miserably. When I again restart the router the speed seems great for few mins but again drops after sometime.It happens in both LAN and wireless mode.The firmware version of the router is 1.00.16
I was going through the problems posted by some other user but observed that cisco people are not heraing to them.Seems made a mistake by associating with cisco product.This is the worst router I have ever used.The wireless also gets disconnected abruptly.Next time I'll avoid cisco.Cisco is all about stone age products and zero customer care.

From time to time, when I wake up an specific station from sleep mode, the router loses its connection with Internet. It still has the line synced, but there is no Internet connection.I still can access the router through browser though. If I hit "connect" to establish a manual connection, it does not work. I have to switch the router off and on and wait for the whole process of syncing and connection, then I have Internet again.
I thought this could be something on that PC (old XP) sending some weird packet to router when I wake it up, but I tried with a newer PC (Win 7 64 bits) and the same problem persists. Also, this only happens when I wake up the PC. If it is off and I turn on, or if I restart, the problem does not happen.
The router (WAG120N) has an old firmware version (V1.00.12) because the latest available is buggy and had some problem with my ISP (limiting the bandwidth). However, I have this firmware for like 6 months and the problem only started 2 months ago.

I have BSNL Broadband with speed 512 kbps. My old modem gives me speed 0.54 mb . i have checked it on speedtest.net .But my new WAG120N gives me less speed 0.15mb .Why this so happen?i checked all settings

I've got an apple Airport Express and have managed to set it into my network. Airplay works on both Itunes and my phone. However after 10-15minutes the Airplay drops out and the network map shows that the airport express is 'offline'. however the airport express LED remains showing it still have connection to the network. The only way to get it back is to reset the AE. The apple forum has lots of people stating the same problem with WAG120n routers.

Recently I have changed my ISP and switched from an ADSL (4Mbps) connection to a faster fiber connection (100Mbps). I own an WAG120N which after firmware 1.00.12 (currently installed on the device is 1.00.16) should allow LAN1 to be used as WLAN. This is true and I can use it to connect to the new provider.
However the speed when using LAN1 as WLAN on WAG120N is very slow: download 20Mbps and upload 10Mbps. The LED on LAN1 is orange instead of green as before. I have tested the ISP connection with an WRT160NL and the speeds are much faster: download/upload 87Mbps

i'v recently bought a WAG120N for my home and set it up after that i checked that my wireless link speed on my laptop is 72mbps instead 150mbps after a few googling ive found that 150mbps is only avalaible on 40MHz radio band but in setup page i only found 20MHz.

This is a bit of a pain as the behaiviour is not consistent. whenever I connect to the Device webpage a number of things may happen
1. There is no connection - the page tries to load but never does. While this happens the router drops the ADSL connection and re-connects. I have to close the browser session and try again later. OR
2. The Browser session connects but at some point after the connection, say when I am trying to save changes or even just browsing through the config pages the session hangs, and again the router drops the ADSL connection and re-connects. I have to close the session and try again later.
I have noticed this happens when I use my OpenSuse 11.4 Linux Box using Firefox 5 or even using my Win 7 Box using IE9.

I have a WAG160Nv2 with Firmware Version:V2.00.20 Two problems
1. Slow wireless speed - only 2Mbit - with cabte up to the lines max 15Mbit
2. The routers system time is wrong - it says " 03-01-2000 02:19:54" I have set the correct system time but no difference
I have tried a lot of wireless options and some of the timezones but i did not solve the problem

I am using WAG120N, and it keeps disconnected from internet randomly, normally between 5-10 minutes. The thing is, when it is disconnected, the adsl lamp is still on, so I think that it is not the network problem. When internet lamp turns off , I try to turn off the device (or unplug the phone cable), then turn it on again (or re-plug the cable), and it will work for certain minutes, then gets disconnected again. I already upgraded the firmware to v 1.00.12.

I recently got a Linksys WAG120n wireless modem but I have a problem with its Wireless.whenever I want to connect to the wireless of the modem I have to reboot the modem. or I cannot connect to it or if I connect I do not have internet access the cable LAN interface of the modem is working is working properly.I used Mixed (b/g/n) as network mode and wpa2/psk as authentication mode with using preshared key.and the channel is 11. no matter if I enable MAC filtering for wireless or not it is just the same.my laptop is a HP G42 with a Ralink 3090 wireless card and I have installed the latest manufacturer driver of the wireless Card.but it is not working .even sometimes laptop cannot find the linksys modem until I reboot the modem.as I have found there is no newer firmwire on cisco site for this modem to upgrade.

I have a wag120n ADSL modem. When I turn on the modem, after about 30 min to 1 hour DSL LED light flashing and then internet LED light turn off, and disconnect from internet. And modem does not connecting to internet until I turn off and turn on again the modem. I check with other modem it is working fine and DSL line is not the problem. Also I installed the latest firmware and that not solved the problem.

I will just explain my setup:
I have a ADSL Huwavi modem by my ISP installed at my place.. Now the wireless from that device is very bad.. So I purchased WAG120N to setup a daisy-chain kind of setup in my other bedroom. I also put another D-link DIR-600 in between to give a connection to the first floor (via Ethernet cable).
So my huwavi is the ISP device, then a LAN from it goes to the dlink internet (WAN) port. then one cable from the d-link LAN port to the LAN1 of WAG120N and another upstairs.
Now all of this was working perfectly.. I put same SSIDs and Pwds on both ISP router and WAG120N and i was getting seamless net..
Now yesterday we removed the ISP modem to do some shifting.. Upon reconnecting, the ISP modem, Dlink work as before, but the WAG120N refuses to connect to the net.. it shows DSL down and doesn't access the www.
What I felt is that since i changed LAN ports on my ISP device and dlink, the static IP settings on the WAG120N should be changed.. i modified it, set to to point to the dlink for internet and huwavie for DHCP.. yet nothings happening..
I even connected the WAG120N directly to the Huwavie, yet it fails to connect to the net..

Recently I shifted to ADSL2+ Internet broadband.So purchased "CISCO Linksys WAG120N" router as my firewall hardware( FortiGate60) had no any port to connect to ADSL.Now I'm accessing internet throug the above Linksys router and do not use the firewall as I don't know how to configure the firewall to get the internet access through firewall from the router.My earlier broadband service was directly connected to the firewall's WAN port as it was compatible.configure the firewall to access the internet from the router through the firewall.

Yesterday I bought the Linksys Wireless-N Home ADSL2+ Modem Router WAG120N (Annex-A version). I configured the modem/router and it was working very well. Today I was surfing the internet just fine and I left my computer for a few minutes, when I came back I noticed that there is no internet connection. The internet light on the modem was no longer on, and the DSL one was blinking. I turned off the device and then turned it back on but the issue was still present. I tried restoring the factory default settings and configuring the modem again but nothing seems to work (resetting the modem, turning off every device connected to it and restarting the modem/router). The DSL light keeps blinking, turns off for a couple seconds and then starts blinking again. The internet light only appears when I restart the modem and it flashes red just after turning the device on.

I have local WI-Fi network with 2 Macs, 2 PC's, iPhone, iPod and i Pad at home on Link sys WAG120N router. On i Pad when I try to connect to Internet I have to turn WiFi off and on. It works for a while but after waking i Pad from sleep I have to switch off and on again. It really drives me crazy. Sometimes (hardly ever) it happens on my iPhone 4 (same network setup as on i Pad). Other devices connect to Internet whenever I need.

Have problem with both of my wag120n routers. I setup remote access, from the intranet it works fine. But from internet instead of showing me the page it starts downloading it. Instead of home page trying to save ¨download¨, if i put a long link like xxx.com/setup.cgi?=etc then it tryes to save ¨setup.cgi¨. All fileas are empty, 7kbytes.

We recently purchased a Linksys E3200 router, because our old router didn't take advantage of our internet speed. The router works fine, though the internet speeds again isn't as much as expected.
With a wired connection, we only get 80 Mbit/s of our full 120 Mbit/s, according to Speedtest.net. The Cisco Connect built-in speed test is even worse; only 40 Mbit/s. When we directly plug the computer into the modem, we get the full 120 Mbit/s, which indicates that the modem does have the connection speed. The router just doesn't give it to the computers attached.
I don't know about my wireless speed, as my wireless card in the laptop clearly is the bottleneck (it can only connect at 65 Mbit/s). Atheros AR9285 ftw.
We tried different cables, the one included with the router gives the same speed.

My ISP provides me internet by pppoe connection.When testing the connection with the router i get 30 mbps.When testing the conection without the router, cable conected to laptop i get 60 mpbs.

I recently purchased a X2000 ADSL modem/router combination. For some reason the current time will not stay set to the time zone. Rebooting clears the discrepancy for a short time before it drops an hour exactly. I'm in the central time zone and the setting are correct on the basic setup.?

Is the WAG320N iPv6 compatable ? ,or could it be with a firmware update ?.Is the X2000 in the same boat in iPv6 terms as th WAG320N ?.Is there a way of retrieving "UPTIME" / "DSL connection time" information from the WAG320N and also line attenuation stats etc.Wouldn't need the above but poor isp needs keeping an eye on.

I have a BEFCMU10 version 2.0 cable modem. My provider Insight Broadband has recently boosted their internet speeds. But I have found out that if my modem is not DOCSIS 2.0 compliant, I cannot get the faster speeds. How do I know if it is DOCSIS 1.1 or DOCSIS 2.0 compliant? I hope I don't have to replace the modem as it has given me absolutely no trouble since I have had it.

A few weeks ago my internet speed suddenly became slow. Not so slow you can’t do anything without having to wait half an hour, but significantly slower than usual, and it also has occasional drop-outs. It can’t be an issue with the computers connecting to the router, which it’s doing fine as I can access my router’s setting though the IP address, but with the router connecting to the internet.

Just bought this WAG120N and using the CD Setup it gets as far as Install Gateway then displays its not connected properly. Checked everything it says to check.Im swapping from an ordinary adsl modem but i unplugged all of that and the WAG120N shows steady Power , 1 ethernet number lit and flashing ok, Wireless is lit and DSL is also also lit. Rebooted a few times too.

After upgrade to FW .04 on x3000 the router dramatically decreased the internet speed, besides the already discussed problem with cookies and authentication. Any archive for 1.00.03 (previous FW) - I think downgrading now is the only way to hve the router back to normal.

So, I just upgraded my mobo/cpu (Z77A-G45 and i5-2500k) and I'm having an issue with my connection as it seems to drop every 5 to 15 minutes constantly and have no idea what exactly is wrongThe kicker is my old mobo did the same thing and I had to do something in win7 to fix it (not sure if it was the drivers or what) but I just can't remember what exactly.
