Linksys Cable / DSL :: BEFCMU10 - Cannot Get Faster Internet Speed

Jan 15, 2007

I have a BEFCMU10 version 2.0 cable modem. My provider Insight Broadband has recently boosted their internet speeds. But I have found out that if my modem is not DOCSIS 2.0 compliant, I cannot get the faster speeds. How do I know if it is DOCSIS 1.1 or DOCSIS 2.0 compliant? I hope I don't have to replace the modem as it has given me absolutely no trouble since I have had it.

Linksys Cable / DSL :: Wag120n Internet Speed Drops With Time

Aug 10, 2012

I am using linksys cisco wag120n adsl2 modem router. When I start the router the internet speed seems great but after some time the speed drops miserably. When I again restart the router the speed seems great for few mins but again drops after sometime. It happens in both LAN and wireless mode. The firmware version of the router is 1.00.16

I was going through the problems posted by some other user but observed that cisco people are not heraing to them.Seems made a mistake by associating with cisco product. This is the worst router I have ever used. The wireless also gets disconnected abruptly.Next time I'll avoid cisco.Cisco is all about stone age products and zero customer care.

Linksys Cable / DSL :: WAG160N Slowing Speed While Connecting To Internet

Nov 29, 2011

A few weeks ago my internet speed suddenly became slow. Not so slow you can’t do anything without having to wait half an hour, but significantly slower than usual, and it also has occasional drop-outs. It can’t be an issue with the computers connecting to the router, which it’s doing fine as I can access my router’s setting though the IP address, but with the router connecting to the internet.

Wrt54gl - LAN Speed Desktop To Laptop Much Faster Than In Other Direction

If a copy a file from my desktop to my laptop, the speed is usually 3 or 4 times faster than if I go in the other direction.

Desktop is connected to the router by a cable, laptop is wifi.

If I connect the laptop with a cable, speeds are fast both directions.

Router is a wrt54gl with dd-wrt. Both machines running Win7

Why would this happen? How can I identify the problem and fix it?

I'm not getting gigabit transfer speed from my computer to dlink 321. I rarely do computer to computer transfers, so I dont know what the speed is of that. The best tranfer rate is from 7-12mb. Cox Cable High Speed Internet / Frequent Disconnects?

Mar 27, 2012

The modem checked out and was all good, the splitters are brand new and the line is apparently fine. This left the router as the issue. We had a Netgear router and attempted to replace it with a Linksys router. The firmware on both routers have been tested both old and new firmware. This happens to all computers/laptops connect to the network I do not receive a message stating that I was disconnected from the network, the internet simple cuts out for a little while and then comes back in.Cox says that they are 100% certain it is not on their end, nor is it the modem. The disconnects occur at random (there is no specific intervals). They last anywhere from 30 seconds to 10 minutes.

I bought this one because the other one sucked (the standard from my ISP).I have set the router up as the old one was, however, it is still slow, and now it also needs reset every day.

Linksys Cable / DSL :: Slow Speed When Using LAN1 As WLAN On WAG120N

Jan 16, 2012

I own an WAG120N which after firmware 1.00.12  (currently installed on the device is 1.00.16) should allow LAN1 to be used as WLAN. This is true and I can use it to connect to the new provider.

However the speed when using LAN1 as WLAN on WAG120N is very slow: download 20Mbps and upload 10Mbps. The LED on LAN1 is orange instead of green as before. I have tested the ISP connection with an WRT160NL and the speeds are much faster: download/upload 87Mbps

Linksys Cable / DSL :: WAG320N Is Restricting Download Speed To 37MBs

I recently moved from BT adsl (using the WAG320N) to Virgin 100mb ISP. I had reconfigued the WAG320N to use the ethernet WAN port and the Virgin router as a modem only. The problem I have is that the WAG320N is restiricting the download speed to 37MBs. Initially I thought it was a problem with Virgin but after many visits from Virgin engineers and extensive testing we found that the WAG320N was restricting the speed to 37Mb/s.I am now using the router provided by Virgin which is not ideal. Is there a fix as I cannot find one anywhere.
