I have Linksys Befcmu10 v4. I need to port forward and I cannot login. I have tried admin/password and all those combinations. I tried factory restore by pressing the thing in the back and still can't access the page

It will stay off line for 8 to 10 minutes and then comeback on its own. If I cycle the power it will come up pretty quickly. But I have found out that if my modem is not DOCSIS 2.0 compliant, I cannot get the faster speeds. How do I know if it is DOCSIS 1.1 or DOCSIS 2.0 compliant? I hope I don't have to replace the modem as it has given me absolutely no trouble since I have had it.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI can't get a new IP from my ISP when my Cable modem router(EPC3925) is set to router mode, i have tried factory restore, unplugged etc..but still no luck. It changes each time i reset it when i set it to bridged only mode but then i won't be able to connect other devices to it since it doesn't uses DHCP in bridged only mode. It changes back to the IP i had when i set it to router mode. I don't want to change my router settings to bridged only because it would disconnect the other devices in my house. Why my ISP assigns the same IP address when it's set to router mode but assigns different IPs when it's set to bridged only, how is this possible ?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Cisco Linksys WAG120N running with the firmware version 1.00.12, and it's working a quite fine.During some tests with the nmap command under Linux, I noticed that beyond the ports 80 and 433, another opened port 32764 shows up running an unknown service.This unknown service keeps running after scanning for ports between 1-65535 using nmap in stealth mode. But after querying the modem for operating system fingerprint using nmap but not in stealth mode, this port closes and the service disappears.
By using a browser to access 192.168.1.1:32764, a 12 byte "<random_prefix>.exe" file is download, and its's recognized as a text file. The file contains a "MMcSÿÿÿÿ" string, and the bytes in hexadecimal are "4d 4d 63 53 ff ff ff ff 00 00 00 00".And also, something strange happens after this unknown service goes down: Accessing the modem setup via browser, the settings displayed are different than I commonly use. the encapsulation is set to "Bridged Mode Only" instead the "RFC 2516 PPPoE", and into the Status Tab the Current Time field says "Time Zone string Error". Still in the Status Tab, in the Internet Connection information the "Login Type" is a misspelled "UNKNOW", the interface says "Connected" to a well accessible Default Gateway., the same displayed into the Routing Table Entry. Th Applications & Gaming Tab is unaccessible.After power switching the modem off and on again, everything comes back to normal again.
Whenever I try to login to the router, it fails to recognise the username and password for usually the first 5 or 6 attempts, then recognises them on the 6th or 7th. Not eactly a massive issue, but coupled with what seems to be a very unstable connection makes me wonder if it was a good move to buy cisco.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI presently have ATT DSL Motorola modem (Model 2210-02-1022) with (1) DSL Green plug, and (2) Ethernet-Yellow in the back of my modem.I have reset the E1200 Router, and tried multiple ways of getting the Wi-Fi to work. This Linksys E1200 belonged to my neighbor, but he recently passed away, and left me all his computer devices.In the Wall phone jack, I have a DSL noise filter as part as a two female plug,
1) for the Green DSL on Modem, and the other
2) to my phone handset. The way I usually plug this in BEFORE this router was this: The green DSL plug from Modem - into phone jack DSL Filter, and the Yellow ETHERNET cord from Router to the back of Computer. I powered on computer, plugged in all cords, except for E1200 power cord, disabled antivirus/security software, I then inserted the Cisco Connect CD and waited , and waited, but it said I was not connected to the Internet. ERROR CODE# 82BD0304. I'm using win7 64 Pro. before i called ATT, I wanted to know if there is an easier way to conect the right cords to the right plugs.
I can't seem to setup my WAG120N modem.I kept on getting the error "your ethernet cable does not appear to be connected properly" even though I have connected all the cables correctly. I can access the modem through the browser via 192.168.1.1 though.I thought the setup is supposed to be simple but I have wasted few hours.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have just bought an X1000 box, it seems to be randomly locking up and the only way around the issue is to reboot. I have also noticed it can't seem to handle streaming video either.
My ADSL has been checked and all is OK and if I don't stream video generally things seem OK for a couple of days. If I run a continual ping to the unit you can see that now and again the request times out but then some times comes back and other times I need to reboot again. The log file seems to show very little either.
I desperately try to set up the X3000 as a router behind a vDSL modem. When I choose connection through Ethernet and then PPPoE, it never keep the credentials after reboot in spite of having saved the data before.

I'm following the same process that worked without issue the day previously.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI currently have a WAG354G configured with a static IP address acting as a DHCP server. Wireless is off, and instead I have an Apple Airport Extreme basestation in bridge mode to which my client machines connect wirelessly.
Instead I want to pass through the static IP address to the Apple basestation, and use this as my DHCP server.
Ultimately I want the Apple basestation to pass the static IP address through to my home server, and also supply DHCP addresses to other clients.
I recently upgraded, through my ISP, my high-speed modem to the DPC3825 model modem/router. But when I try to connect to the DLink switch, the modem freezes, and doesn't recognize it. My previous setup was modem, to my DLink router (DIR 615), to my switch. With my new setup, I just bypassed the DLink router, because my new modem includes router capability.Is there some compatibility issue between the new modem and the DLink switch?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've never setup a router before, but when I tried to setup this one it required me to put in the isp ip, subnet, gateway, and dns. I assumed that this was not my ip but the ip of zoomtown which when i looked at the old routers info i figured this was the ip under the configurations summary that said wan ip, perhpaps i was wrong, i'm not sure but this ip info is static it does not change , but I believe the individual computers ip addresses use dhcp and are not static.
View 3 Replies View RelatedOur router is connected through a cable modem and If I connect my computer directly wired to the cable modem, I have no problem, it does not disconnect at all.In comes the router in between, when I connect the router and connect my computer through the router WRT54G2, it works initially then I get disconnected after about 1-2 hours. This is very regular. I have a temporary solution by resetting the router via two ways:
1. Go to the admin page, and perform a release and renew IP method.
2. Simply power off the router and then on again.
Connect WAG160Nv2 with another modem / router Wi-Fi?
