I have the above router, but I have noticed that the USB Transfer speed is very poor. I have a WD External HD plugged into the router and id i transfer filed from my server which is hardwired to the router I only get a transfer speed of about 2.5MB/s.
For a USB device I was kind of thinking I would be getting a minumm of atleast 50-60MB/s.
I have a home network running on a Linksys WAG320n and i have attached to it a WD MyBookLive (w Gigabit Ethernet). I am connected on the network via my Dell with a Intel(R) WiFi Link 5300 AGN. I am not able though to connect on N range. I have installed the latest drivers from Intel but nothing changed. When i try to copy a file from my computer to the WD Network drive the transfer rates are very slow. I get Max 2MB/s - 3MB/s while if i connect my computer with a wire the speed goes up by 3-4 times more.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently replaced my old router with wag320n and I'm concerned about the wireless transfer which is really poor. 2,5Mbps is maximum I get which is really disappointing as I share lots of things on my network and could really use some better data transfer. Distance to the router is irrelevant, 5 metres or 0,5 metres - all the same/I tried different frequencies, 20 and 40 mhz bandwidth, no result as well.I know that 150mbps is just theoretical but 20mbps is 13% of the N standard, that's not what I expected from linksys.Firmware version is V1.00.12, all the advanced wireless settings are set to default. I tried different values but they make no difference at all.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI just recently purchased a Linksys WAG320N and replaced a setup with Linksys AM200 modem and a good ole Linksys WRT54GL. Problem is that after the switch i immediately got around 100 KB lower transfer speeds no matter what source i use or kind of transfer i perform. If i earlier got for example 860KB/sec i now only gets 760KB/sec.I´ve set the modem/router up pretty much using the default values, are there any settings i could change to get a more efficient use of my bandwidth? I am using the provided network cable that came with the WAG320N, but i have also tested with other cat 5 cables. The file transfers are taking place using cable attached devices only.

Power cycling it SOMETIMES does the trick but it will still get slow. View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently moved from BT adsl (using the WAG320N) to Virgin 100mb ISP. I had reconfigued the WAG320N to use the ethernet WAN port and the Virgin router as a modem only. The problem I have is that the WAG320N is restiricting the download speed to 37MBs. Initially I thought it was a problem with Virgin but after many visits from Virgin engineers and extensive testing we found that the WAG320N was restricting the speed to 37Mb/s.I am now using the router provided by Virgin which is not ideal. Is there a fix as I cannot find one anywhere.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have two machines that both have WUSB600N wireless network adaptors with a Cisco WRT160N router. The file transfer speeds between the two devices maxes out at 1.6Mbs. If I run speed tests off the internet I hit 15 to 20 and downloads are excellent. I have played with all kinds of settings for the driver and router but nothing seems to work. Both these devices are running Windows 7. I tried a file transfer with an XP device as well and it maxes at about 1.6. how to increase the bandwidth??
View 1 Replies View Relatedi have a newly formatted (i.e. empty) 2TB WD my book elite which when i connect it to my computers usb port, can transfer a 6gb video file at over 100MB/s according to the win 7 detail box. However, when i connect it to the usb port on the back of the e4200 and try to transfer the same file, it only goes at 8MB/s max ... it appears to be going at usb 1 speed. i've got the latest firmware on both the e4200 and the my book 1111 and everything seems to be working fine for both, except this transfer rate when connected to the e4200.granted, cisco doesn't specifically list this drive as being tested, but the router does recognize it and shows it as usb 2.0, but yet the transfer speed is just too slow.8MB/s is just not workable...i could just connect the drive directly to the computer and share it that way, but connecting it to the e4200 was one of the reasons i bought the e4200.

The HDD is definitely capable of at least 80MB/s if plugged directly into the PC. Is it meant to be this slow or there's a fix somewhere which I'm not aware of? Thought it's suppose to be the top of the line products but seems so inferior if I were to compare with other high end routers in the market which performs better, faster and definitely much cheaper.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have recently purchased a Cisco E4200 to replace my D-LINK DIR-655, which I thought was defective because I was getting slow wirless file transfer speed, regardless of setting, location and client.Using the E4200, when I transfer a file from a PC to another, both connected at 300mb on the 2.4ghz band, the file transfer rate reported by windows 7 and networx is from 2MB/s to 3.5MB/s. I think those transfer rates are not acceptable. Is that a good assumption ? I would expect something in the range of 10MB/s (which is what I get with a cheap dlink router, wired)
I also had great difficulty finding a channel. I had to try them all one-by-one as the auto channel selection made my PCs connect at 130mb.The E4200 is setup as follows:

I have tried 3 different computers with different network adapters and they all underperform (IMO..).There are no other wireless networks in my area.I also took the E4200 to my office which is very crowed. Every single channel is occupied by several wireless networks. I get a file transfer speed PC to PC of about 2MB.I basically could have kept my DIR-655 as the speeds are identical.
I am using a DIR 825 and I experience slow data transfer speed within my internal network under the wireless connection (2.4 Ghz), 2 Mbs. I can videostream from the internet OK, no problems there, but when I want to transfer data between two external HDD (NAS devices) it can get as slow as 2 Mbs.

On a wired connection when testing with numion.com I get 6 Mbit/s which is my DSL speed (this is great). On the wireless connection I get max 1,8 Mbit.
I recently bought a new TP-Link TL-WR741N, I'm transferring data from my desktop wired network, windows 7 to net book windows xp wireless. i'm getting only 2 mbps.

I own an WAG120N which after firmware 1.00.12 (currently installed on the device is 1.00.16) should allow LAN1 to be used as WLAN. This is true and I can use it to connect to the new provider.
However the speed when using LAN1 as WLAN on WAG120N is very slow: download 20Mbps and upload 10Mbps. The LED on LAN1 is orange instead of green as before. I have tested the ISP connection with an WRT160NL and the speeds are much faster: download/upload 87Mbps

I have connect the two laptops in 6509 switch in same module using the same vlan and try to copy the files from one laptop to another and vice versa and got the same speed on 4 to 5 Mbps per second. Switch utilization is not more than 10% and both the laptops are connected in 1 Gbps full duplex.
I have checked by removing the gateway in both laptop but the output is same.
some reference material about configuring my WAG320N to use my cable modem via Ethernet port 1. I've seen it mentioned that's its possible, however I've been unable to sort it out myself.
And before you ask, I've brought the DSL router as I'm moving in the next 12 months and my new base will not have access to cable internet and I'll be reverting back to DSL.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an intermittent issue with a new WAG320N.Device is new (installed for 1 month now) and is running the latest firmware "out of the box".
Device was confirmed as working (recommended) via the ISP, as it uses a Broadcom chipset, so it works "more reliably" with the ISP's hardware which uses the same chipset.
Setup was painless and the router synced up fine and has been operating for a few weeks. However, twice in the past week the router has become unresponsive to ping over the LAN. Furthermore, the device's lights indicate everything is OK, however I have to reset the router (power cycle) and then it returns to normal.
WIFI is OFF. LAN IP is set manually, DHCP is OFF. The router is plugged into it's own UPS.
How to configure settings for router E4200I live in Finland and bought new Cisco Linksys WAG320n router modem as I am experienced Cisco user. However after spending several hours and setups on the WAG320n router I cannot get it to connect on the ISP ADSL line.

But once I setup these or acutally any other setting I cannot get the router to connect. With the right settings I can get the DSL PVC status up and connected but the ModemRouter cannot connect and retrieve IP-address from ISP.
I'm trying to play some online games and my WAG320N does not forward ports, upnp does not function and to top it off DMZ wont even work (not a software firewall issue either). I have the latest firmware (and honestly the stock firmware is terrible).
Am I out of luck or is there something I can do to fix this? I sure as hell will be steering clear of linksys products after this.
