I recently purchased a X2000 ADSL modem/router combination. For some reason the current time will not stay set to the time zone. Rebooting clears the discrepancy for a short time before it drops an hour exactly. I'm in the central time zone and the setting are correct on the basic setup.?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using linksys cisco wag120n adsl2 modem router.When I start the router the internet speed seems great but after some time the speed drops miserably. When I again restart the router the speed seems great for few mins but again drops after sometime.It happens in both LAN and wireless mode.The firmware version of the router is 1.00.16
I was going through the problems posted by some other user but observed that cisco people are not heraing to them.Seems made a mistake by associating with cisco product.This is the worst router I have ever used.The wireless also gets disconnected abruptly.Next time I'll avoid cisco.Cisco is all about stone age products and zero customer care.
This is a bit of a pain as the behaiviour is not consistent. whenever I connect to the Device webpage a number of things may happen
1. There is no connection - the page tries to load but never does. While this happens the router drops the ADSL connection and re-connects. I have to close the browser session and try again later. OR
2. The Browser session connects but at some point after the connection, say when I am trying to save changes or even just browsing through the config pages the session hangs, and again the router drops the ADSL connection and re-connects. I have to close the session and try again later.
I have noticed this happens when I use my OpenSuse 11.4 Linux Box using Firefox 5 or even using my Win 7 Box using IE9.
I have a WAG160Nv2 with Firmware Version:V2.00.20 Two problems
1. Slow wireless speed - only 2Mbit - with cabte up to the lines max 15Mbit
2. The routers system time is wrong - it says " 03-01-2000 02:19:54" I have set the correct system time but no difference
I have tried a lot of wireless options and some of the timezones but i did not solve the problem
I've bought a "WAG160N v1.0 Annex A" almost 2 years ago. I never used it's wireless feature untill we moved our house. Now it's like 4 month I'm using its wifi feature and I've got to admit I'm really frustrated by its functionality!
For months the modem just dropped wireless connection constantly in various time periods. Somtimes it went like 2 days without any problem but some other times I had to change channel every 15 minutes for it to get back working. And yes it didn't get fix until I changed the channel, otherwise clients had to wait several hours for a 50/50 chance of reconnection. Now It's two days the changing channel trick no longer works. I tried all channels and even put my notebook next to the modem but no luck. The notebook sometimes connnects to the access point but disconnects after a few seconds. Somtimes it doesnt even detect the SSID of my WAG160N modem. Some friends suggested that the wireless hardware of my modem is broken and no longer works but I'm eager to know if it is broken why is it still broadcasting and sending signal.
I've tried everything from upgrading and downgrading firmware to turning on and off the modem several times and changes modem position. And even tried the G-only 20MHz mode.We are at a very crowdy place. Using inSSIDer I could pick about 15 other access points. Only few of them are using Wireless-N, most of them are using Wireless-G.This is the inSSIDer diagram of my WAG160N modem from a client: [code]

Every time I reboot it, the system time become "Fri Dec 31 1999 12:00:00 UCT". I have to do the sync manually by clicking on the "Save" button under the menu Administration > Time Setting.

I also have Qos Engine on for allowing me to have 2 xboxes on Open NAT.problem is my wireless signal for some wired reason is VERY weak. A while ago it used to work really far way outside. Ciso 1941 router frozen once a day, sometimes after 2 to 7 days. When the router frozen, no internet connection and cannot login/ping ethernet ports. I can login to console port and copy the error messages below. Reload the router and it will return back to normal operation. Re-installed IOS but still the same.

View 2 Replies View RelatedLately I've been experiencing connection problems between my router and cable modem. Every night after 11:00 PM EST, my Internet connection sporadically goes out. I called my ISP who said there was nothing wrong on their end. Plugging directly into my modem allows me to access the Internet. When I wake up in the morning, the connection is back until 11 or later again. I ran WireShark but I'm not sure what to be looking for. There are a lot of random things from the LLMNR protocol like standard query A zmtvrjaql.
