Linksys Wireless Router :: E3000 - FTP Not Running From Pc To Web Server

Oct 31, 2011

I set up the router in our office and all is working well. BUT, when I have to FTP from my pc to our web server wich is at a typical web hosting company, now we are having  time out issues, stalls, an closed sessions. Our server company checked everything and all is clear. I can FTP from outside my office (home) with no issuies at all. So this leads to the E3000 causing the issue. Simply everythign worked on Thursday, we installed on Friday and now we have the issue.

Linksys Wireless Router :: Running E3000 In Client Bridge Mode?

Dec 19, 2011

I have replaced my main router WRT300N running dd-wrt with the a stock E4200 and an old WRT54G aslo running dd-wrt configured for wireless client bridge. Now that I'm learning more about 802.11N, I was wondering what client can I use to achieve 5ghz simultaneously radio transmission since my current setup cannot do this in the 5ghz band. Can the E3000 be ran in wireless client bridge mode, if not what product can provide this? On the other thought am I understanding MIMO?

Linksys Wireless Router :: E3000 Running As Access Point Drops Devices

I am running the e3000 as an access point.. My iphone and ipad connect to it seamlessly. After a few hours to days, they are no longer recognized by the router. Nothing I reset on the phone or ipad makes any difference. The only solution I have found is to re-boot the router. They then re-connect on their own.

Linksys Wireless Router :: E3000 - Way Of Getting IP From Pppoe Server?

Jul 22, 2011

I recently bought an E3000. I am trying to setup a wireless home network.Google and tried a lotta things (power cycle the most no. of times ). Nothing worked. So I poked around. Looked up the IPConfig of my PC with wire connected directly(no router), was 192.168.0.xxx. So I hit 192.168.0.1 in my browser address bar, and it came up with the login page for a D-Link DIR600. A wireless router with wireless disabled. Apparently this is being used as a switch by my ISP. This I know cause I checked the active connections and DHCP reservations on the D link and it showed up about 100 different PC's (including MAC and IP addresses).

Linksys Wireless Router :: E3000 Lost All FTP And Media Server Settings

Jan 27, 2012

I have the E3000 and have attched a WD 1TB USB drive.  I set it up for FTP and Media sharing and it worked fine but somehow recently I could not connect anymore.  I checked the router and all of my setting for the FTP and Media server were gone.  The disk drive still shows avaiable but now it shows the entire 1TB free (it was at least half used).  This is the second time this has happened, first I tjhought it was a bad disk and replaced it but now it happened again. I did do a power cycle some time ago but I remember it still work after that.  Not sure why I am losing my settings. This does not give me a comfort level as to storing anything valuable on that drive.

Linksys Wireless Router :: E3000 External Storage And Media Server

May 29, 2010

I have connected my LaCie rugged drive to the router and would like to use it as backup storage and as a way to stream video to my PS3.When I go to my advanced settings for the router and go to the storage heading I can see my LaCie and its specifications.  There is a button next to it that says "claim", which I press, but nothing happens.I don't have the option to create a shared folder, and I can't access the drive from my Mac.On a somewhat related note, I've enabled the media server and can find it on my PS3, but there is nothing in the root folders.  How do I put stuff (movies, music, etc.) into these root folders?

Linksys Wireless Router :: E3000 USB Hard Drive Media Server - How To Get Files

Jan 1, 2011

I just installed this router and connected the hard drive (Western Digital 1TB) which worked fine at first.  When I moved some movie files to another folder they lost all of their data. The file names are still present, but all the media files show zero bytes and are no longer usable.  Is there anyway to get these files back? I have been digitizing all our movies to the tune of about 90GB. What could be going on here?  I disconnected the HD from the router and plugged directly into the laptop.  Still shows the file names, but each file is still at zero bytes.  Not a cool way to have a media server for your house!

Linksys Wireless Router :: E3000 - Using Buffalo Drive (formatted As FAT) As Media Server For ITunes

Nov 30, 2012

For the past few months, I have been using a Buffalo drive (formatted as FAT) as a media server to function as my network drive for iTunes. Unfortunately, I have recently noted in the last 2-3 weeks that, when copying new files, the file size changes to zero bytes. I do not seem to have this problem when i plug the drive directly into my computer via USB, only when adding files over the network. I spoke to tech support, who said, based on the story in that files can be correctly transferred when directly connected, it appears to be a network problem.

I am running OS 10.8 with iTunes 11 (but also occurred with iTunes 10) and using version 1.0.04 on the E3000.

Linksys Wireless Router :: E3000 Media Server Not Seen By Windows Media Player?

Apr 18, 2012

I've enabled the Media Server on my E3000 router.  My PS3 can see the server and play media from it by my PCs can't!

I'm using Windows Media Player v 12.0 on Windows 7 and some older version on Windows XP and it's my understanding that the Media Server should appear under the "Other Libraries" section but it does not.

Am I doing something wrong? Is there a bug in the E3000 firmware (I have the latest as of this date) or is the Media Server simply not compatible with Windows Media Player? compatible media player for Windows 7?

I did read a post about a firmware upgrade on the 4200 that broke the media player, but I don't know if such a problem exists for the E3000.

I tried all three of the solutions suggested by Vista, but they all failed. I also did a hard reset of the laptop, router, and modem. Waited a little while with everything unplugged. Still cannot connect to the interent and get the same error message.

Linksys Wireless Router :: Testing QoS On New E3000

Apr 19, 2010

Has anyone tested QoS on the new E3000? Whenever I add an application (e.g. Voice Device) and set priority to Medium or High, my upstream bandwidth for everything else is immediately cut significantly, even when I'm not using the priority application.

For example, with QoS disabled, I can consistently get 10Mb upstream (speedtest.comcast.net).  As soon as I enable QoS, upstream is capped to exactly 2Mb! On my old router, there was an option to set the total upstream bandwidth -- but on the E3000 there is no such option that I can find.

Linksys Wireless Router :: WRT54G2 V1 - Running Two Networks

Dec 24, 2011

I've gone through a couple modems, only possible reason I can think this is happening, but I don't know for sure if it could be a factor. Anyway, it seems my router is running two... networks? I've reset my router, set up my wireless network, configure the SSID name, password lock it, but there still appears to be a "Linksys" network running with no password. I'm afraid it's being used by someone else, seeing as it's free wifi. I've reset my router a couple times and set up my wifi and this linksys still appears to be running. The reason why I feel it's mine is because one night our net went out and when my brother attempted to log onto the linksys, its net wasn't working either. When our net came back up, the linksys was running with working net once more. It seems like too much coincidence to not be true. I'm really not sure what is causing this and I've never experienced this before.

Linksys Wireless Router :: EA6500 Running Very Slow?

Apr 4, 2013

I purchased an EA6500 router on March 1 2013 – since then my wireless network has became very unreliable. The network runs fine for a short period of time then it gets extremely slow. I constantly have to reboot the router to see better performance.  When I run the built-in router speed check, it shows that I am getting 20 Mbps for downloads which is what I expected to see and then as time goes on, the speed goes as slow as 1 Mbps for downloads. I finally had to go back to my very old Linksys WRT54GS router  to have a stable network again. I called Linksys customer support and they want to charge me a fee to diagnose the router that will only be refundable if they find any issues. I find it completely unacceptable to have to spend more money for an item that is only a month old that will probably show no issues when they run their diagnoses since they had me reboot the router while I was on the phone with them. I want to warn others not buy this router especially when the company cannot stand behind their product that is only 34 days old!

I solved this by clicking on "Administration>Management" and entering my own code, however, this has never been necessary before.I am also getting inconsistant "DNS errors".  It appears erroneous addresses are being generated.I've downloaded and installed updated firmware. This Linksys router uses WEP security.

Linksys E3000 Wireless-N Router Slow Speed?

Feb 25, 2011

I have FiOS and their supplied wireless router Actiontec #MI424WR. I have home theater equipment that uses the newer N signal so I purchased a Linksys E3000 Wireless-N Router. I have one of the LAN outputs on the Actiontec feeding the Linksys input and Wi-Fi turned off on the Actiontec. This is working good for my wireless home theater equipment but I am having problems with my wired speed. It has gone from averaging anywhere from 20 to 30 mbps on numerous test sites when plugged into the Actiontec to averaging around 10 mbps when plugged into the Linksys.

1) Is my wireless N speed going to top out at 10mbps or less since that is all the router is showing on wired? Shouldnt N be broadcasting a faster speed if given the ability?

2) I have my computer currently plugged directly into the Linksys verses the Actiontec. This makes it easier to program the Linksys router. Since I am no longer using the wireless part of the Actiontec there really is no need to be plugged into it. Is there anything I can do get the speed higher on the Linksys, a setting I can change? Will I have to plug the computer back into the Actiontec to get the higher speed and then move it every time I may need to make a change to the Linksys?
