Installed E4200 with an iMac running MacOS X Version 10.6.8. Wireless connection works great. Also connected a wireless laptop without a problem. But can't connect a 2nd computer is wired. That is a PC running Vista. I know the wiring is good, because the E4200 is a replacement router in a network that was working fine.

I don't want to allow any Guest access to my network, but I do want to connect my iPad to my network. I've successfully added another computer to the network but the router setup seems to want the iPad to connect only as a Guest .Is there a way to treat my iPad as another computer (not as Guest) so that it my network recognizes it in the same way it recognizes the second computer (without entering a password)?

So I have a WRT54G router since a couple of years now. Laptop (Win7 64bit), ipod, ipad, phones can connect to it without a problem, but new computer (Win7 64bit) can't. I can connect the PC via ethernet without a problem though.
I powercycled my devices, I changed broadcasting options off and then back on, changed my security mode, tried the MAC Cloning (after doing the MAC Cloning, I lost internet connectivity even through ethernet), resetted my security settings, changed SSID, I'm broadcasting through channel 11 2.462. I also tried deleting the HomeGroup
Important fact: the network is in the list of available wireless network, but Signal Strength is No Signal and I can't connect to it. My network adapter is ASUS 802.11n Wireless LAN Card, drivers are up to date. I've upgraded to the latest router firmware.

I am having problems connecting to my wireless internet. We were getting a poor signal so we moved our router to our living room where we always are, but now we can't connect. We tried resetting everything, turned on and off several times. Went to the linksys wireless set up page, changed SSID and password. Still can't connect with the computer or our iphones. It shows our SSID is there but won't connect. My internet when plug directly to the computer works fine (I am using it now). My computer can connect to the router Linksys WRT54G, we just can't get it to connect to the wireless.

We originally set up Cisco Connect with our E1000 Lynksys Router on a laptop- that has since died. So- I wanted to set up the software on our desktop and so I put in the set-up disk. I keep getting message "We didn't find your router" even though I now have the computer linked directly by ethernet cable. I do have connectivity to internet which I set up using my "Easy set-up key" and have a strong signal. Can't get past the first router step on the set-up disk to install the program- so now do not have Cisco Connect on any computer.

My WRT54G2 v1 does not automatically connect to the internet on computer start-up. The computer will say "Connected, No Internet Access" In order to fix it I have to unplug the router and then plug it back in. This happens to any computer that tries to get online from a cold start-up. The router must always be unplugged, then plugged back in, then it will have internet access (and will generally maintain it throughout the session and even if the computer is restarted, i.e. warm boot). I have downloaded the latest firmware uprade.

Just installed linksys wrt320n. Desktop and one laptop (wireless) connect. Both windows 7. A second laptop (Vista) errors out with message "the selected data rate is not correct". This laptop sees the router (since I see the router name and it validates the passphrase) but I cannot ping the router. I saw two messages on this site suggesting to enable WMM and use security WPA2. I have verified that both of these are so set.

I am trying to manually setup a WRT120N router. I am using my laptop (hard wired) for the initial setup. Okay, everything is working fine until I unplug the ethernet cable and try to go wireless. Will not connect to my network. I am also having this problem with all my other devices.
I had everything running fine on a WRT54G, I just wanted to try out the WRT102N. I did change the SSID name form what I was using on the WRT54G.

I have a WRT110 wireless router. My problem is that my laptop has issues connecting to my router. It sees it and shows that there is a strong signal but sometime it will connect other times not. My laptop has no problem connecting to other wirelss routers. And my other devices have no problem connecting to our router. I've reset the router several times and changed the router to no password or security of any sorts. How can I get my Laptop to connect to my router?? I feel like it is a setting issue between the Router and the laptop. Is there a way I can erase the history of the router from the laptop and start fresh?? Like I've said I have reset the router several times. Does it have to do with my firewall?? It's just frustrating that my laptop can connect to anything but this Router. And my other devices like our blue-ray and Wii can connect to the router without problems so why can't my laptop and router connect to each other?

Right now, the Linksys is set up on the desktop, and all is well, but need to get the laptop able to connect to internet through router. Do I need to uninstall Linksys on desktop and install it on laptop?

I have a cable modem with an E3000 router, wired to my desktop. Internet connection is fine for my desktop, wired to Xbox, wifi for Iphone, Ipod, but no connectivity to my laptop wirelessly. I have run the repair automatically on my laptop (Windows 7) and get 2 different messages when trying over and over to use this tool. 1. Network Configuration Problem 2. Problem with wireless adapter or access point. I get a "fail" when trying this:
1. If your client device has a Wi-Fi Protected Setup™ button, click or press that button and then click the button on the right. or when putting in the router's pin number.

I have a linksys WRT54GH wireless router running firmware v1.0.01 build 001.It's setup with DHCP.My desktop computer is connected to the router via cable.I also access the connection using my laptop, via wireless. The problem is that after I start using the desktop (wired connection), I can't connect from the laptop using wireless. It happens every time. I then turn the router off and back on again. After this procedure I can successfully connect from both the desktop (wired) and laptop (wireless).

A couple nights ago, my wireless router (Linksys BEFW11S4 ver4) just stopped letting me connect to the internet. All the lights were still flashing as they should, I could still go to the setup page, I just could not connect to the internet, both through wired and wireless. I could connect straight through the modem though.
So I decided that since the router was probably over a decade old that maybe it was just its time, and I bought a new one (E1000). I connected it, and still could not connect to the internet. I then did some internet searching and found this [URL] and I followed what was mentioned in post 10 (MAC address clone and changing local IP). Now I can connect through the wired connection and I rejoiced thinking I solved it.
Then I checked my laptop and it won't even connect to the router. It sees the router, but when I ask it to connect, it just says it can't. I decided I was too exhausted to try searching and fixing it on my own and if I tried I'd just end up breaking something out of frustration.

This was for a WRT160n v3.0.02 I looked up several suggestions online and decided to update the firmware to v3.0.03 This seemed to only make it worse as I could no longer connect, and when I turned the router off and back on it would allow me in for about a minute and drop me right away.I started tweaking with the settings, and came across some posts here such as this one, started tweaking with the channel settings and everything. Nothing. If anything I somehow made it worse since now instead of dropping repeatedly it wouldn't connect at all except for about a minute after restarting router, then it would drop completely (I would either get the limited access notification or I simply couldn't connect and windows said to unplug the access point. I recalled I had another Linksys router that I wasn't using in storage, a WRT54G2v 1.0.01 so I set that up, no problems... at first. All other devices picked it up right away, but once again, my new laptop decides it's too good for the freaking network and drops it repeatedly telling me there's a problem with the access point.
So at this point I'm thinking it might NOT be my network, but my wireless card or something, I uninstalled and reinstalled, updated drivers, (I use a Realtek RTL8723AE Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC) I even came across this article and disabled browser service and NETBios (including all other devices on my network). It brought back the network on my laptop for a bit, only to smugly come crashing down again.

I have three N-compliant devices and several G-compliant devices on my network. I also have two routers, one being used an an access point. The first is a Linksys WRT350N; the second is a Linksys WRT54G. I have the G router connected as an access point so that I can reserve the N router for the N devices and achieve N speeds.N devices:Toshiba laptop; network adapter is Intel 4965AGN.Toshiba laptop; network adapter is Atheros AR5008XLexmark Wireless printerRouter settings:WRT350N: Security Mode WPA2 Personal; Encryption AES; Network Mode N-only; Radio Band 40MHz.WRT54G: Security Mode WPA Personal; Encryption AES; Network Mode MixedThe best I can recall, I set the WRT54G to WPA Personal instead of WPA2 Personal because one of the G-compliant devices did not list the WPA2 Personal setting -- but this is based on memory only.To reserve the WRT350N for the N devices and achieve N speeds, I set the Wireless Mode to N-only and Radio Band to 40MHz., and each router broadcasts its own unique SSID. Once I set everything up, I saw a substantial increase in the link speed reported by the Toshiba Connectivity Doctor (I realize there are issues about taking these numbers at face value, but let me continue). The Toshiba Connectivity Doctor reported WRT350N link speed at 130 Mbps and everything appeared to be working well.PROBLEMUntil recently, no problems were apparent; the Toshiba Connectivity Doctor indicated the two laptops connected to the WRT350N at 130 Mbps, the printer connected to and printed via the WRT350N, and all G devices connected through the WRT54G. Recently, however, network performance declined and the Toshiba Connectivity Doctor indicated erratic link speeds ranging from 1 Mbps to 130 Mbps.I found through a little research that my quest to reserve the WRT350N router for N devices lacked one element: according to Linksys info for the router, setting the N Transmission Rate to anything other than Auto results in denying access to B/G clients.I set the N Transmission Rate to 270 Mbps (the highest setting). The Linksys printer works fine and the Toshiba Connectivity Doctor indicates a solid 130 Mbps link speed for the Toshiba laptop with the Intel 4965AGN adapter card. The other Toshiba (with the Atheros AR5008X adapter card), however, is now only able to connect to the WRT54G (the Toshiba Connectivity Doctor indicates a solid link speed of 54 Mbps to the G SSID). If I reset the WRT350N N Transmission Rate to Auto, the Toshiba with the Atheros card can once again connect to the N Router -- but the erratic link speeds and the network degradation returns also.I have verified that the Atheros AR5008X network adapter is N-compliant. There aren't many settings on the Atheros AR5008X adapter card configuration, but I can find no documentation on the Internet for this card.As far as I can determine, all firmware is up to date for both routers and all drivers are up to date for both adapter cards.I'd love to know what changed in the first place, but I'm more concerned with fixing this problem. How I can get the Atheros adapter card to connect to the WRT350N with the N Transmission Rate set to something other than Auto?
