I am using a Wireless G Broadband Router. It is a model WRT54G2.When I was setting up the product for use, part of the process was selecting a password, which I did. After a successful installation, I started to use the wireless internet without an issue...My problem is that none of the computers that I logged on with require my entering the password. I thought that access was supposed to be password protected.

I recently upgraded the OS on my laptop to Windows 7, which wiped out most of my older Vista settings. When I try to connect to my home network, I am prompted for a security key (network key?). How do I find the security key? I can't find any of the paperwork that came with my router.
By the way, I am currently using my desktop, running under Windows XP.

I have WRT54G2 that I've set up my wireless network on. My Kindle, just the basic one, sees and recognizes the network. It has good signal from it. When I attempt to sign in though the Kindle says my password is invalid or it says it just can not connect. I have gone over and checked what I hope are all the settings but to no avail.

forgot password for Linksys WRT54G2 and can't connect wife's new Ipad; i'm not real popular at the moment. went on cisco site and they gave a technique where you input IP address and a screen is supposed to pop up with a "wireless" tab, then give access to another tab where you can view your pw.BTW, if I reset it entirely do I have to reset each of the computers now hooked up to it?

Just got the WRT54G2 and setup it fine with or without encrytion and passwords - however when I setup the other 2 pcs on my network - the only way I can get them setup and going is WITHOUT encryption and password protection - setiing up without encryption on those works fine, but it defeats the purpose of what I'm trying to do. I was on the phone with Linksys for over an hour and they can't seem to get it to work either - guess they got stumped and after an hour - I was put on hold and then cut off.

HP says to hook up a usb from router to printer, but there's no usb port on the wrt model I own. I hooked up a usb from computer to printer but it did nada...

I've been trying to remove an invading computer from my network. My ISP told me to change the password on my router. I followed all instructions, but it returned to the original setting each time. I've been unplugging modem and router, whenever I am not online, but when I am online and the invader is also, everything is very slow. At one point I was not even able to get online, as I got the error message that another computer was using my IP address.

Yesterday my wireless internet suddenly stopped working. I plugged the ethernet cable directly from the modem to the computer and everything was fine, so I reset the router, reconnected it to the modem, and went to the setup page 192.168.1.1. I reconfigured the router on the setup page, leaving all previous settings the same (except I renamed the network from linksys to our own name and reconfirmed the WPA Personal password). My computer can connect to the wireless network but I can't go online.

Really not grab Router Gateway, even as did the 30-30-30 reset because I had all the lights on, and is still in trouble. I am currently connected via ethernet to the router only. And yet not grab us Links Home door. The lights now are Power, WIFI and Port 4.

I have this router back in my home office for my wife's Mac laptop. I recently purchased a new Sony TV with internet access capability and was hoping to gain access through my router, however during set-up attempt it will not connect. My wife is able to use her laptop in the same area as the TV.

I have a WRT54G2 v1 (no new firmware available) with a cable-modem connection (Motorola Surfboard), every thing works perfect but when my ISP goes down and then back up I cannot get the router work, LAN or Wifi connection. I have ping response to the router and I'm also able to get into the admin page. The only way to recover is restarting the router and sometimes releasing DHCP and then Renewing it, and the Wan connection actually gets the same IP it had before.

Went away on vacation for a couple of weeks and when I got back my Linksys WRT54G2 has lost it's configuration. It's showing a WiFi signal, but is no longer password protected.
I've tried connecting with a desktop on the same network, to 192.168.1.11, but that address is not connecting. I tried to reach it with my iPad wirelessly, and it's giving me the login screen, but not allowing me to login. I tried to use the reset button on the back to reset it to the factory default, but then I should be able to login with no username and the password of "admin", correct? But that's not getting me in either.
I'd like to get this network password protected again and not offer a signal to all of my neighbors.

I've tried to connect my father's laptop and my father's girlfriend's daughter's PC to my Linksys Wireless Router, model #WRT54G2 V1. So far, I have steady and fast internet access on my PC which so far I've only gotten my father's laptop to connect through. However, I can't figure out how to get her PC to get internet access through my router. I'm mediocre at configuring computers, and I'm absolutely terrible at routers. :/ There was the possibility that her computer isn't new or advanced enough or whatever to be compatible with a wireless router, but at the same time she has a Wireless Network Setup Wizard app. in the control panel area, so wouldn't I be correct in assuming that if a computer has a wizard dedicated to it, it is compatible? I've run Wireless Network Setup Wizard as well as just plain Network Setup Wizard, and I've had them both read that it was successful connecting to my Router's network...but where do I go from there? I've never had to mess with a PC before so I'm not entirely sure. She has a modem, which can not be plugged into the phone jack at the same time as my modem otherwise we both do not have internet access, however if one of us plugs in that person is fine, so that's when I figured I'd try to get her PC into my network with my dad's laptop. Also, we have a Broadband connection setup through Verizon, if that matters at all. Does she need a modem to hook up to my network at all? If so, does that modem need to be plugged into the phone jack? If required I'll give her OS and PC specs and such, but from what I know just being on her computer she runs Windows XP as an OS and her computer is an "eMachine".

I have been having trouble with my wireless router for the past month and not sure what is up with it. I have recently moved and got it working for a day then the wireless did not work and i was not able to access the setup webpage either. What I ended up doing was upgrade the firmware to the newest one and it worked well for about 2 weeks but then started again and the only way it works is to reboot the router but then the next day it will not work.

I upgraded to v1.0.0.4 because on v1.0.0.1 all of a sudden my router's internet connection to my wifi devices was 'becoming stale' and I would lose internet connectivity even though i was still connected to the router. The only way to get my router to get the browser to load pages again was to go to Status and release then renew dhcp.
After upgrading, it does it less often. The problem now is that when my devices detect the network, they are all forced to re-enter the password. Well, all iOS devices. My macbook air doesnt require me to re-enter the password but it does not automatically connect to the network even though it is set up to do so and does so with 3 other networks from offices and other houses.
In other words, my only problem is with my wrt54g2 at home. My iOS devices must be told everytime to connect to that network (they wont connect automatically) and the password must be re-entered everytime. This only happens with this router. And my macbook air has to be told to reconnect to this network although it DOES save the password for it.
What could be the problem? I already changed the patch cable from my modem to my router. That didnt do much.
