My Linux Server Network cuts-out after 10 mins. It says its still connected but when i try to ping google or my laptops IP it gets a 100% loss. Also when i try accessing it via SSH/Putty for Widows 7 it wont connect.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm running Arch Linux on an Acer laptop and my wirless connection doesn't stay up. After a while it disconnects, and when I try to reconnect I get stuck with a "Waiting for authorization" message. I have to retry several times before getting the connection stay up for few minutes. This happens with both networkmanager and wicd. The strange thing is that the iMac that sits next to the laptop connects fine, and when I use my laptop within the university wireless network it works normally.

I'm running Windows 7 Professional 32-bit on a Dell Inspiron 1545, using a wireless connection with a Verizon FIOS router and service, and for the past several months or so, my internet speed will just halt from time to time. It's not a sudden stop either, I'll be able to inform people I'm talking with that it's happening, and soon I'm unable to download or upload any information from anywhere. I'm signed out of instant messengers, disconnected from servers, and I can't load webpages.The downtime will last anywhere from 5 minutes to 30 minutes, and it will gradually return. No torrenting is going on, no downloads are happening anywhere on my network (as far as I know), I just have to wait it out. From time to time, there are even two in a row, having a few seconds of internet access before it's gone again.
I've included screen captures of some tracerts I've done during this 'lag spike' thing. I actually apparently time out to my own router. I honestly didn't think that was even possible.I have plenty of HDD space, no processes begin taking up incredible amounts of memory, everything looks as though it should be working fine. No other computers on my network have this issue, neither the wired one or the wireless ones. Disconnecting and reconnecting to my router during these times will not stop it, I will reconnect and still be unable to access the internet.I can't seem to find any solution for it. My antivirus programs don't find anything, and nothing else is happening that leads me to believe it's some form of malware, though I definitely won't rule that out.
first I couldn't even connect the thing to the internet, now every time I try to download something, like a youtube clip, patch for a game or even a tiny download the speed seems to crap out and then slow to absolutely nothing after just 2 or 3 seconds.. also sometimes I can't even connect to my router with 192.168.2.1, the page is just blank, half to disconnect router and reconnect.. Some days I can't even download a website without having to constantly refresh the page.for a youtube video if I just keep refreshing the page it downloads a part at a time till it gets the entire thing.. My internet speed is around 15 MB/s, before the download quits the speed is always fast..

I have to go to the network connections, disable the wireless then enable it again for it to work.The wireless icon sometimes has a yellow triangle with a ! in it and sometimes has a red cross over it. This happens when I'm sitting next to the router. I have my PS3 and WII set up to it too and they work fine and they are further away from the router so dont think its that.

I have an acer aspire 5536 laptop and it will randomly disconnect from the wireless internet. Everything will be working fine but as soon as I try to load two things at once (or sometimes even one big thing) it will show that little yellow exclamation mark and say no access to internet even though it is still connected to the network. The other computers connected to the wireless work fine with no access issues so I know it is not the router. Also this happened in my previous home where I used wireless but from a different provider so it is definitely something wrong with the computer. Every time it goes to no internet access if I disconnect and then reconnect it works again.

View 3 Replies View RelatedIn my house we have ADSL2 Bigpond broadband internet and a Thomson TG782T modem/router and its been in my brother's room for a while and lately I've really been noticing the slow internet so I moved the modem/router to the kitchen as I figured it would give everyone an equal connection.The modem has a cable that goes to a DSL splitter and there is also a cable that goes from the phone to the splitter. On the other side of the splitter is a cable that goes to the wall socket. The cables that go from the phone and modem/router are short and the one from the splitter to the wall socket is quite long. The modem/router and the phone are right next to each other.I was playing COD on the Xbox and I noticed that at the time my Mum was on the phone I got the disconnect message. The connection kept settling but then a second later disconnecting and this happened frequently until she hung up the phone.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been having this problem for several months now and I've tried most of the "solutions" on this forum and many others to no success. This casually varies from day to day and even over the course of a day, sometimes I can go a week at a time without any problem and then other times I'll spend an entire weekend not getting any luck. Essentially my wireless connection will randomly cut out with severely different periods of time inbetween, can happen every few hours or every 10 minutes and as said on different days. Most of the time I have to restart my PC or power cycle to get it to start to work again but also some times It'll automatically reconnect after 5-10 seconds or a few minutes.
As I'm sure you've heard a thousand times this is extremely frustrating when browsing the web or trying to download a large file and constantly being interrupted. My kids who live downstairs and have their own PC's in their room don't have this problem, one is using a wired connection and the other a wireless. As I've stated it only started a few months ago and I've had this PC for a year and a half and the router nor the PC have not changed position in the house or had any drastic changes to either of them.

My wireless signal cuts out, but to be clear it doesn't disappear altogether. Instead the signal drops to the point where the connection is useless. I found out by accident that if I disconnect, the signal suddenly shows at full strength; if I reconnect, it works fine, for anywhere between a few minutes and several hours.

View 14 Replies View RelatedIm on Windows 7 Ultimate, I have Netgear N600 and a motorola and all the lights are on but when I lose connectivity to my internet, everything looks fine light wise. My whole family connects to the wireless in my house and when the internet goes down, they too, are effected. The internet would be running for a few minutes and then sadly go down for a minute then come back up. This has been happening more and more lately and its come to a point where I'm sick and tired of trying to fix it myself. Its very aggravating to be surfing the web and one point and then seeing the oh so nice "Firefox cannot connect to your internet" screen. I play World of Warcraft, as of right now, its unplayable. I'm stressing because its just a hug hassle. The Motorola and the Netgear are fairly new and I don't seem to think that would be the problem.
