View 19 Replies View RelatedI have an 802.11n USB Wireless Lan card on a desktop with Windows 7 home premium 64-bit. Whenever im searching the web, say i go to NFL.Com to check my fantasy squad, the pages wont load, and i see my connection has been dropped, now every time i click on the signal bars on the bottom right hand corner, it says no connection, but after about 2 seconds of clicking on it, it connects again. So in order for me to get my connection back, i have to click on my signal bar to get it back, which is ridiculous. I have other computers in my home, all of which do not have this problem, so its definitely something in my desktop, i also have about 3 wireless adapters i've tested it on, all of which do the exact same thing on my desktop only. I've also went to power management under configuration for my USB adapter and turned off the ''Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power'', it still drops my connection every 3-5 minutes.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using a dlink network adapter(6 months old) on my pc, have always gotten an excellent signal. Main pc in house is hooked up to dir-615 router & works fine. I had some bsod's recently & decided to reformat xp. I did a reformat back in july because of a bsod from avast antivirus & had no problems till now. An xp repair didn't work this time. Loaded the driver for the adapter, got an excellent signal, but couldn't access the net. The signal shows 4 green bars for about 20 seconds, then all white bars for a few seconds, then back to green. It keeps dropping the signal over & over. The network card shows its working properly. I did an ipconfig, and it says "media state disconnected" & shows no addresses. It has to be some setting somewhere in the pc thats not right & not the adapter thats the problem. The reformat went fine, loaded all the drivers in the right order. I only have IE for a browser which i need to access the net with to load firefox & all other programs plus service pack 3 & other xp updates back on with. When i loaded the driver for the dlink adapter, i used a different workgroup/name than the network name originally used to set up the dlink router if that means
View 3 Replies View RelatedIm currently living downstairs from the router. Its in a "secure location." Long story short, the person I live with is very private about the particular room its located in. I know the router is a "N" model Linkys.I installed the software that came with the PCI adapter (NETGEAR N300) and everything seemed smooth, then I constantly kept dropping connection. I then assumed the driver needed updating so I uninstalled the driver and re-downloaded the recommended driver from the netgear website,Things to know:
-I don't do any heavy gaming
-When I disable and reable the PCI adapter driver from device manager I can reconnect to the internet rather quickly.
-When uploading a video to youtube I found the connection to be more stable, but slower. (could of been a coincidence)
Currently I've been running "TCP view" to try to find something in the background taking bandwidth. I searched all the applications that it lists and nothing seems to be abnormal.
My internet has been working fine until a few minutes ago, when my connection just vanished. I went to try and reconnect but my Belkin N Wireless USB adapter could not find any wireless networks to connect to. While searching for a connection, the light starts blinking like it is searching, but then it says that it can't find any. Also, when I plug in the adapter, a popup comes up saying that there are wireless networks nearby, but when I click it there are still none.
I've tried reinstalling drivers but still nothing. I'm not sure what else to try because I'm afraid I might mess something up even more.
i just bought and installed tp link wireless G usb adapter TL-wn422G.

I had to recently reinstall windows xp, I have upgraded to service pack 3 by pluging into a wired connection downstairs, I was given a media link wireless usb adapter, It was working fine before I had to reinstall. Now it will connect to my network but the packets are low 1-16 and I can not access the internet.

I've checked the drivers, the wireless router, and scanned for viruses (several times) but nothing seems to work. In the last three months, I think I only had one occasion where the connection remained stable for longer than an hour. It doesn't matter what router I use or where I am. It has to be my computer.

I have a Rosewill RNX N300X wireless adapter that keeps dropping to 1 mbps, and only goes up to about 18 mbps on a good day. How can I force a 54 mbps connection?
- I am running the latest drivers for the card.
- The network is "g", card accepts b/g/n.
- Another computer running RNX N360PC is getting a perfect connection on the same network.
I'm using is the Netgear WNDA3100v2.What happens is when I attempt to connect to the internet I have to reset the adapter multiple times before it even recognizes my internet. And then once that happens it takes a few more tries to actually connect. And when I'm connected the speed is fairly decent (around 15-30 Mbps). Problem is, every 5 minutes maybe even less, I disconnect. Then I have to go back through the process of restarting the adapter and whatnot until I reconnect. I've been dealing with this problem for a few months now and have neglected to post about it anywhere because I didn't think it to be this unique.
I have tried just about every other "solution" I could find on the problem and none have worked. Also, if this says anything, I have a laptop setup literally 1 foot or less from my desktop and it connects perfectly well and good using the same adapter. Also I recently purchased another adapter (Linksys AE3000). I figured this might solve my ailment but of course, the same thing happens as the Netgear, except possibly worse. And that adapter works fine on the laptop as well. I also just yesterday completely reformatted my computer hoping it would work, but of course didn't. [code]
My Gateway NV53 laptop has suddenly lost the ability to connect wirelessly to any network. Ethernet connection works fine. Wireless light is turned on, but laptop does not "see" any wireless networks. It is as if the wireless adapter is no longer there. It does not show up in Device mgr.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm using the WUSB54GSC on a IBM Desktop computer, not old, but not new by any means. We have wireless internet through Comcast, and my room is on the second floor. The router is on the first floor, but it's almost just underneath my room. The internet seems to connect completely fine, but it will disconnect at some things. For example, when I tried to go to mapquest, it was like it was flooding, and it dropped the internet connection. I also play games online, and when I play the actual game itself (GTAA/Online) it plays just fine, no lag, nothing like that, but when I try to connect to Teamspeak, when it's loading the channels after it connects, it just drops the connection..
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Linksys WUSB54G version 4 adapter. My computer is running Windows XP, Service Pack 3, which is automatically updated at all times. I've been using the adapter for a year with no problems.
Suddenly, it's started loosing the connection to the Linksys router and locking up my computer so only a hard re-boot power-down will work. When it comes back up, some or all of my cookies are lost.
I've run several different security packages but no virus or other issues have been found.I've uninstalled the adapter and reinstalled it.Last time, following something I read on this site, I installed it without the Linksys software, just the drivers.
Recently the wireless internet connection on only one of my laptops is really laggy. By laggy I mean that usually the connection is ok, 20mbps, but like once in a couple of minutes the connection slows down to like 3mb for a minute or so ( Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test) and when it does the connection becomes really slow. This is very annoying when browsing the internet or playing online games, because it causes connection losts, and slows down loading webpages etc. The problem has to do something with my laptop because on my other (wireless) laptops and the wired PC these problems don't occur. The problem also occurs when no other PC is connected to the network. My laptop is an Asus K53SV and my wireless adaptor is an Atheros AR9002WB-1NG Wireless Network Adaptor. My ISP is UPC (The Netherlands).

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just purchased 2 AE3000 adapters to update my wireless network and cannot get either of them to connect to my wireless network through either of two computers I tried. It hangs for a while looking for address and then I get the 'limited or no connection' note. But yet when I plug in my old AE1000 adapter into either computer I get connected right away. I've looked under the device manager and it shows up there, the LED lights come on and I see my wireless network show up on available networks. I am using the windows wireless manager in lieu of the Linksys one and as such I don't think any specific drivers are being used. I bought two updated adapters to start with is to keep current and NOT have problems.

Now, the signal could be slightly better, but it's pretty fine and quite fast when available. The problem is sometimes the adapter just seems to "forget" all the active connections and doesn't see any connection at all for a couple of minutes. My computer can no longer connect to the internet. As I do not use an Ethernet cable, my concern is the wireless aspect. I am running Windows 7 on an HP laptop, and when I troubleshoot the problem all it pops up with is "Local Area Connection 4 adapter is disabled". When I try repairs as an administrator it just repeats the fact that the adapter is disabled, but does not provide a way for me to fix this. I have also tried going through Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Troubleshooting > Network and Internet and selecting the network adapter option, selecting the Local Area Connection 4 to diagnose. It then said troubleshooting couldn't identify a problem.
