i just bought and installed tp link wireless G usb adapter TL-wn422G.
i was tring to connect to the internet but after about 30 second the connection to the internet was terminated, and i need to unplug the device and replug it , in order it will work again (for about 30 seconds more).
i have an edimax router and all my other devices are connect perfectly (laptop, iphone , galaxy s)
I am having problems after installing the ae2500 adapter in my win 7 machine had to remove malwarebytes and avg to get it to work but now it constantly has problems dropping the internet connection. I have to disable the adapter then enable it to reconnect to the internet. Are there other compatibility problems with this setup that I need to address?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI purchased an Alienware M17x R4 about 2 months ago and it was working perfectly until yesterday. After using it for a while, it disconnected from the WiFi, and after restarting the laptop I got a pop up message saying a physical WiFi adapter is not installed, meaning I can no longer use my wireless connection, but only a cord. Going to device manager, I did not see the wireless hardware on the list of network adapters (Intel® Centrino® Wireless-N 2230 With Bluetooth 4.0), however it is still listed for the Bluetooth. I have already tried reinstalling the drivers, system restore, dell diagnosis (which says there is no problem), AlienAutopsy (which also said there is no problem) and scanning for hardware changes from the device manager, none of this has fixed the issue at all.

I have performed shutdown and no shutdown in the interface but still the the WAN link was not working. After performing a reboot the WAN link started working. No error logs were generated while the WAN link was down.

View 3 Replies View RelatedFor about two months now I have been experiencing a problem with my Internet connection. It started when I upgraded my Dell Inspiron 530s from 64 bit Vista to 64 bit Windows 7. After a day, I started getting the "Local Area Connection: A network cable is unplugged or broken internet connection." However, the cable is not unplugged. My other PC and laptop (which is wireless) can connect to the Internet, so I know it's not my ISP or my router. It only happens about every other day. It would work perfectly on day and other day I would go to my internet and I would have no connection. The weird thing is that when I restart my computer, it connects right away. My other two computers that was upgraded also does not have this problem.
First, I thought it may be the cable, so I replaced it with another cable I had. No luck.Then I thought it may be the port on the router, so I plugged it into one of the other ports (including the port that the working PC was plugged into). Next, I checked Device Manager > Network Adapters > Intel(R) 8256v-2 10/100 Connection. There is no exclamation point next to it. Plus, under Properties, it indicates that this device is working properly.I shut down all my computers, and unplugged the dsl modem and router. I waited a few minutes and then plugged in the modem, followed by the router. Once both of those were fully booted, I turned my computers back on. Still after a few hours, I lost connection.Following this, I went to Run, typed "cmd" and then "ipconfig." Under Windows IP Configuration, it reads:"Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection: Media State.........: Media Disconnected."
I have a Pix 515E with a VPN setup. I recently tried to connect Cisco VPN Client and get the following error: "Secure VPN Connection terminated locally by the client. Reason 412: The remote peer is no longer responding" I have previously been able to connect to this VPN using Cisco VPN Client without issue. Below is a copy of my config and VPN Client log & debug logs from Pix. We have Newwave Communications Cable internet, which i just found out the the ISP has recently implemented DOCSIS 3.0. (i'm not sure if that matters).

I replaced a similar router from a competing company with the AC900 N900 router. I open Live Mail (IMAP) and keep it open during the day. Since switching over, when I periodically look at email on Live Mail, I frequently get a "Windows Live Mail" message saying "Your server unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity." I have never received this message from either one of the previous routers - LinkSys, Netgear.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI turned on the monitor (I had left the system running) and it said that it had recovered from an unexpected shut down. It didn't automatically connect to the wifi, so I opened the connections window to connect to a network and it said "Windows cannot find any networks." I refreshed several times and nothing happened. I clicked the option underneath "Diagnose why windows can't find any networks," and it came back with "This computer does not have a wireless adapter installed and configured." I then opened up the device manager, and under network Adapters, the only thing is "Intel(R) 82566DC-2 Gigabit Network Connection." I checked it out and it says it's working properly, and I believe that this adapter is for when you actually connect a cable directly to the PC.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure there is much else I can do at this point - the issue has not been resolved.
I re-installed factory drivers for my adapter, then replaced those with updated drivers from Intel. I was 'alright' for a while, but have had to launch Device Manager to re-enable the adapter, or restart my computer entirely because it failed to display my adapter at all. At this point, I get no result with either.
I have tried to 'recognize' the adapter as a new device (added hardware), but that didn't solve anything - it duplicated it in Device Manager and then displayed the yellow exclamation point indicating it needed new drivers - I attempted to update but it displayed an error, so I ended up uninstalling the duplicate.
At this point, I feel like it's the hardware that is the problem, and not my computer's ability to recognize it. Though I have been able to connect to my network in the past, its ability to function would be patchy, at best, if I could get it to work at this point. Should I try to reset/replace my wireless card, or is there something else I can try?
My 'network card' is fine, according to a diagnostic, and my Bluetooth works fine.
months ago, i installed a USB card so that my dvd burner could run at 2.0 or 3.0. it has worked fine. every now and then the card becomes unlodged from inside the computer, and i have to push it back into the slot.Tonight, while the computer was on, i was putting it back in, and it popped all the way out, my computer shut down and when i restarted it, i got the error message "windows did not find properly installed network adapter/ if you have network adapter update/re-install drivers"Only problem i have is when i go to device manager, i see NO network adapter?

Now Win 7 64 Device Manager is empty- no network adapter found - I get the notice that "there are no properly installed network adapters". I use the on-board network adapter on the mobo, no plug in network card, hard wired to DSL -- like I said, it worked fine for a few days now it's GONE after reformat.

But today i have one issue with it, i received a bubble message at the taskbar saying that "a physical wifi adapter is not installed", when i opened device manager there was no network adapter showing in there, i also tried to reinstall the driver but it's still didn't work.

I've found the right one and it still want install. Says it's the wrong one but i'm pretty sure it's the right one. I just did a fresh install where i put windows 7 extreme on a laptop and i can't seem to ge the right drivers i guess. I don't know if it's the wrong driver or a bad NIC Card.

I use a D-Link DWA-552 Xtreme Wireless-N PCI adapter on my Windows XP Home SP3 desktop computer that has been working flawlessly for months, until last night when it suddenly stopped being able to connect.I was just on the web last night doing what I normally do, and all of a sudden out of no where I lost internet connection and I couldn't get it back. I've tried resetting the router downstairs, I've tried restarting and shutting down the computer, and did three system restores (that all failed anyway), and none of these things are getting my connection back. Now also for some reason I can't even open up my network adapter's wireless network manager anymore because it closes itself not even a second after I boot it up.The modem and router downstairs look perfectly fine and all the other computers in the house, even the laptops, can all connect but mine, so something must be up with my network adapter.

(We use a laptop most of the time which is able to pick it up fine).I've installed the wireless adapter into the computer and installed the drivers however I receive an error message:
"The device may not be present or could have been ejected/unplugged from the system. Insert of Reinsert Now."
Recently the wireless internet connection on only one of my laptops is really laggy. By laggy I mean that usually the connection is ok, 20mbps, but like once in a couple of minutes the connection slows down to like 3mb for a minute or so ( Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test) and when it does the connection becomes really slow. This is very annoying when browsing the internet or playing online games, because it causes connection losts, and slows down loading webpages etc. The problem has to do something with my laptop because on my other (wireless) laptops and the wired PC these problems don't occur. The problem also occurs when no other PC is connected to the network.My laptop is an Asus K53SV and my wireless adaptor is an Atheros AR9002WB-1NG Wireless Network Adaptor. My ISP is UPC (The Netherlands).

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhile I have been VERY happy using my DIR-655 for the most part, all wireless routers have limitations for expansion across your home.I got my TrendNet TEW-640MB installed last night, and it talks to the 655 perfectly, and now I have 4 ethernet ports at distance across my house. I have also used a couple TrendNet TEW647Ga single port wireless bridge for other parts of my home, but with only a single Ethernet port, you still need a little switch/hub to get the extra ports.
Because these units speak .11N at 300 Mbps, it takes full advantage of the technology the 655 gave me when I bought it back in 2009 (??).
We currently use the DIR 655 in our home. I has a great range, and we've never had any problems. Our house is a very tall Victorian, so some areas don't get as strong a signal as others. I'd like to set up a few addition devices to extend the coverage of our network.
I installed a DAP 1522 as a bridge to our entertainment PC. After a while of trying to sort out how to configure it everything is working there. The 1522 is connected to the PC via cable.
I still want to extend the overall wireless range to better cover the lower floors and back porch.
From reading the manual on the 1522 I am a bit confused. I understand how it works as a bridge, connecting devices via cable. Will it also extend the range is set as an Access Point without needing the devices to connect via cable?
I just bought a "DLink Xtreme N Gigabit Router DIR-655" I configured it correctly. It works well for the wireless connection but my Lan connection (wired connection) does not work. The Lan computer connects to the router but cannot access the internet. All of my machines work OK with a Netgear G router, including the Lan computer.

I built my first computer today (woot!) but I'm having issues using my netgear N300 usb adapter to access the internet.
I am using a DLink router but for some reason I am getting some weird issues.
First of all, after using the netgear usb adapter, my mac address is something like E0-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx with the xx being the other numbers. Is having a macaddress starting with E0 wrong? All the other 5 devices on my router have mac addresses starting with 00.
Secondly, I am getting a 169.xxxxxx ip address. This is really starting to bother me because I can't set it up using DHCP.
I have recently bought a TP Link wireless usb adapter (TL-WN727N). Initially I had some issues with drivers but solved that and my internet was working perfectly for around 2 days. However recently the internet speed has dropped down to extremely low speed periodically for no apparent reason. I can be downloading something at around 700kBps one moment then only have 100B/s the next. [CODE]

We have a wireless connection on the primary computer so I was looking at the TP-Link TL-WN321G USB network adapter, or the TP-LINK WN350GD PCI network adapter.The end goal of course is to get the old computer onto wireless, but not sure what the best way to do it is. I'd think the motherboard would accept the PCI card though we do somewhat lack USB facilities. The computer uses a USB hub which I'm not sure if it would impact on internet speeds at all.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSeveral months ago I installed D-Link's DIR 655 on my W7 x64 PC. Everything worked fine including NetFlix and being able to view photos located on my PC on my Sony TV. The TV is connected via wired Ethernet cable from the D-Link and I use my cable service signal from the router to the TV.
Then I had to reinstall my OS and although I can still view all the cable companies offerings, including NetFlix on the TV, I'm no longer able to see or view images located on my PC on the TV. I didn't change any of the wiring.
I tried reinstalling the D-Link CD but I can't find where it installs on my PC. It's not listed in the Device Manager or in Programs. I'm wanting to know what version of the D-Link driver I have and to be able to view photos and videos on my TV that are located in shared folders on my PC. I'm the only one who uses the PC.
This router has to be rebooted every 12-24hrs to re-establish the internet connection.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI have a DIR-655, hardware B1, firmware 2.03NA. Sporadically, generally after the router has been on for 24 hours, I lose wireless Internet (WAN) connectivity. I can still connect just fine to the router interface. And if I plug in hardwired Ethernet, I can access the Internet just fine.I previously had a DIR-615 in operation with no problems.
-ISP modem Motorola SB6121 (stand-alone cable modem)
-QoS/traffic shaping off; also disabled advanced DNS (tried OpenDNS as well as Comcast defaults)
-DNS relay enabled
-Using reserved IP addresses on the local network, all devices are set to DHCP
-Enabled/disabled UPnP/multicast
-Tried all firewall options, including disabling
-Wireless using Mixed 802.11n/g; tried channel width 20/40 and just 20. Disabled auto channel scan and forced to -ch11. No other wireless interfering. Using WPA2 only, AES, with a 63char key.
-Disabled WISH
-Disabled WLAN partition, WMM enable, short GI.
-Cat6 between modem and router
Again, hardwired LAN connection seems to be fine. I've already RMA'd the router once.When wireless Internet doesn't work, it seems to be all affected devices (iPhone/iPad/MacOS/WinXP/Roku).
So I have a DIR-655 and my internet connection drops every day. I have replaced the DIR-655 with a linksys just to try it and it works fine. This has happened with more than 1 of these 655''s. Also I have clients calling saying the wireless drops and it will not let them reconnect until I reboot the router. I have updated to the newest firmware with the same issues. I know its not bad cause I have more than 1 655 doing the same thing at a different location as well.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought this router a couple of months ago and it was working fine until this morning. I tried to use the internet and there was no connection at all (wired or wireless). I tried power cycling but that didn't work. I finally decided to call my DSL provider and we changed the setup from the router connecting to PPPOE to the modem connecting to PPPOE. Now, my two computers (wired) can access the internet but all my wireless devices (Android and BB) connect to the SSID (unique) but can't actually access the net.I called DLink but they decided to stop assisting me once I told them that my computers could connect but not the wireless devices. They said I need to call the manufacturers of my wireless devices - I really doubt that all 4 of my wireless devices are faulty.
