I have high-speed cable access currently coming into an older D-Link 4-port wired router. I need to buy a new wired and wireless router so I can sync my new Android 4G phone (I'm in an area with bad cell coverage but I can sync with wi-fi). I have a second house about 200 feet from mine and have 3 Cat5E lines running underground in conduit to it so the lady next door and and her two kids can use the internet (I have 40-50mb service for my business use at home). Problem is that my kids have discovered YouTube, streaming video, video chat, etc. and are burning up my bandwidth. I currently have two of the lines to them disconnected so that I can limit their use to one computer at a time. I'm considering having them buy a Wireless Access Point, can they connect it to the standard single Cat5E LAN wire that is coming from my new wired and wireless router when I buy it?
I installed DD-WRT on my router and placed it in bridge mode, configuring it with what I thought was my Androids IP address for the gateway. I tried with the Android IP address identified through cmyip.org, 126.96.36.199, and with the one identified through ipconfig command, 192.168.43.1. Neither address was successful. Also, I am unable to access my router using the IP address that I manually assigned to it.provide some assistance on the process of bridging from an Android to a wired PC through a router, Linksys WRT54G v3,

How do I set up the linksys wtr54G wireless router in the dorm room. When I try setting it up, I can only access the router set-up main page which is 192.168.1.1 then icon status shows that it sends out packets, but my computer doesn't receive any signal or (bytes). So, could it be that there are university restrictions on routers/dorm-room internet? How can I get it to work? I heard I need to set up an access point.
I am following instructions I found to set up my wirelss network, but am having trouble configuring my router. I'm specifically at a standstill, because I can't connect to http://192.168.1.1. I pinged the router and got a response and went to run/ip config to confirm I have the right URL for the router, but still not able to get to the URL.

I Bought thisTD-W8968 a month back.. It was working alright till a few days back. From the past 3days i'm experiencing internet light and DSL light going off...The DSL light is not constant even for 5min...When the DSL light comes up, the internet light takes almost 5min to comeup or before internet light come up the DSL light goes off. There wasn't problem with my old UT star modem..I already checked, its running fine without disconnection..When i replace it with TD-W8968 router ,the problem continues.. When my internet connection was good...The SNR margin was like 25 for upstream and 31 for downstream...After 2 days it went mad. here are the images shows about current reading..Fluctuates between 0.2 - 100 upstream and 2-35 for downstream

I've tried some configurations i found online, but can't get to make the network functioning. The routers and powerline av are all dlink. I don't mind having 2 networks, but it would be better to have only one

I checked to see if the modem is compatible and it says it is. I went through the configuration that was given to me with the router and I tried using you tube but nothing. Do i need to get a static I.P address off my Internet provider? If I plug my 02 USB dongle directly into my computer it works perfectly and I got the router to work using a Ethernet cable and plugging it into the WAN port at the back of the router but I would prefer to let it connect through the 3g port

My Motorola SBG901 Modem/Router combo has stopped connecting to the internet. I have done all the troubleshooting with Comcast and with Motorola and it is out of warranty, so I will have to purchase a new one.In the mean time, I wanted to use it only as a wireless router connected to my Scientific Atlanta DPC2100R2 modem. Is there anyway to do this? Is there a way to disable the modem in the SBG901? Simply connecting with the ethernet cords has not worked. I connected the DPC2100 to the SBG901 via ethernet cord. My computer was able to pick up a wireless connection but there is no cable connection.
