Routers / Switches :: Connect Router To A Proxy Server
Jul 10, 2011
I want all the computers on my LAN to access via a proxy server in another country. I have a Netgear DG 834N router and would like that to connect to the proxy server rather than having to define it on each browser.
i just want to ask how can i block all proxy server websites in my router( any brand ) so that no one can access, like facebook i already block it in the router but they still access using proxy server website.
My problem is I can not connect to any ftp server or any database server using my home internet connection. But i can connect to the same servers using my work internet or even using my 3G mobile connection.I tried to contact with my service providers with no luck.I am using a Zyxel wireless router. Is there any settings in my router which stops me to connect those servers.
We have DHCP disabled and have assigned a IP address of 10.65.73.254 on the Interface Setup/Lan/VLAN Settings/data_lan.
When I configure a client to use 10.65.73.254 as its DNS server it cannot resolve hostnames eg [URL]. Obviously I have 10.65.73.254 as the default gateway on the client and it can ping the external host via IP Address so it only appears to be the modems function as a DNS Server that is not working.
From the diagnostics ping I can put in [URL] and it resolved and works, so the modem is correctly getting it's DNS Settings from the ISP
Few days ago I started to get the following error message while trying to connect to the internet using Chrome and IE:"Unable to connect to the proxy server..."I don't have a proxy server configured - nothing is checked in the LAN settings page.In Firefox I don't have that problem - it seems it gets the proxy configuration from elsewhere.
I cannot seem to see my server behind a cisco router. I have a feeling it is because our network phone system may be robbing the IP address? We have two fixed IP addresses. The first one, is assigned to the router. We have two swtiches set up behind router and all the other network stuff interanally wrks great. We also have full internet access. When I type the IP in on the web, it accesses the talkswitch phone system.I have set the internal IP to the server as fixed.I have port 21 open for FTP.When I run a test, the internet sees port 21 open. However, I cannot seem to cal lup the server over the internet. Could the talkswitch system somehow be interfereing with the logon? What would the proper syntax be to access the server?
My ISP provides me internet connection through password protecting Access Point bearing IP address 192.168.20.1 built with IP filtering which allows only a particular IP 192.168.20.88. I am not able to access internet on more than one computers simultaneously because router allows only single IP and I am not sure what are the WAN IP's uses Access Point provided by ISP eg. IP, Gateway and DNS. My ISP provides me static IP address for home computer as mentioned below :
IP : 192.168.20.88 Gateway : 18.104.22.168 DNS: 192.168.20.1 Alt DNS : 192.168.20.1
My public IP address is 22.214.171.124.
Is there any option to add a router to bride or configure router as proxy server so that i can access internet more than one PC's simultaneously.
How can I tell if the ATT Data Service on my iPad is going through an ATT Carrier Grade NAT router or proxy server? Why I can't tell.
1. iPad does not have an interface that shows the assigned address on the Data Connecton or access to any terminal commands.
2. The reported ATT (Cingular) address is 126.96.36.199 if you use a What-Is-My-IP type of service. On a Verizon (not ATT) iPad I can ping all the way back to the iPad and turning the iPad off stopped the Ping Response . . . but there is no answer when I ping the ATT iPad 188.8.131.52 and Trace Route to the iPad stops answering at the border of the ATT network.
3. If I make a page request on an IIS web server from the ATT iPad, the web server logs 184.108.40.206 (see above) as the source address and logs the iPad as the source device, but 220.127.116.11 could still be an ATT proxy, not the iPad because some NAT routers change the source IP address to themselves.
We want to use an ATT Hotspot as the the permanent always-on home internet service where there is no other option (except satellite). We need dynamic DNS at the home, and that requires a routable public address on the ATT-hotspot. We are guessing the iPad and HotSpot would be using the same ATT network. So how can I tell if the iPad has an ATT address that can be reached from the internet (no proxy's or carrier grade NAT routers)
We have Cisco ASA 5505 with ASDM 5.2 We have one Proxy server in our Local Lab and pointed to Hosted service(Simple Signal)issue is, When our proxy server send register to hosted server, ASA change private IP and post with outside IP and src port as 1063 every time.

I have a WD, 1TB, external harddrive with a USB connection and would like to know if it is possible to get a USB hub with an ethernet connector to connect into the back of my router. Is it possible to do this? If so, what will I need to do? Will I need to give the external drive a static IP address, then partition it?
I changed my netgear wireless router password and now my laptop will not connect to the router or to the internet. It has no popup to put the new password. I have no problem logging on with my phone...just the laptop.

My Netgear WNDR3300 wireless router has stopped working. I was trying to put new firmware on it and it just stopped being able to connect to the internet. I can't connect to the internet through it wired or wirelessly. Wirelessly I can connect to it, but I can't do anything like browse the web. I have tried resetting it to factory defaults and restarting it and my modem many times, and my modem can't be the problem because using my other router everything is fine.
I'm having trouble connecting my 02 dongle to the internet using my router. My router is a TP-LINK MR3420 and my 02 modem device is E1752. I checked to see if the modem is compatible and it says it is. I went through the configuration that was given to me with the router and I tried using you tube but nothing. Do i need to get a static I.P address off my Internet provider? If I plug my 02 USB dongle directly into my computer it works perfectly and I got the router to work using a Ethernet cable and plugging it into the WAN port at the back of the router but I would prefer to let it connect through the 3g port
I have one ADSL router that I have configured Port Forwarding on it, but the internet is very slow. I also have another 3G router and I want to use it for internet because it is much faster, but it cannot do Port Forwarding. How can I connect this two routers in one network such that ADSL router is for Port Forwarding only and 3G router is for internet only?
Motorola wr850gp wireless router. The default ip is 192.168.10.1. I attempted to use it as a wireless access point and now it is not working at all. I tried connecting the router LAN port to the computer and 192.168.10.1 pulls up nothing.I tried connecting the modem to the WAN port and the LAN port of the router to the PC, but then I have no internet access at all. I tried resetting the router, still nothingAll lights on the router are green. I don't know what the heck is going on?
my computer will connect wired to internet and can find the wireless connection but wont connect. my wireless icon flashes intermitently and my mobile will work via wifi. do i need a new router this one is a G wireless Modem router Belkin had it for about 4 years?
I have high-speed cable access currently coming into an older D-Link 4-port wired router. I need to buy a new wired and wireless router so I can sync my new Android 4G phone (I'm in an area with bad cell coverage but I can sync with wi-fi). I have a second house about 200 feet from mine and have 3 Cat5E lines running underground in conduit to it so the lady next door and and her two kids can use the internet (I have 40-50mb service for my business use at home). Problem is that my kids have discovered YouTube, streaming video, video chat, etc. and are burning up my bandwidth. I currently have two of the lines to them disconnected so that I can limit their use to one computer at a time. I'm considering having them buy a Wireless Access Point, can they connect it to the standard single Cat5E LAN wire that is coming from my new wired and wireless router when I buy it?
I no longer have my netwk admin and i moved the server to my residence and i also have the pcs that logged on.i booted the servers up and connected the pcs using a router but can't log on im using a verizon wireless router can i get rid of that since i dont want to have it on the internet.
I installed DD-WRT on my router and placed it in bridge mode, configuring it with what I thought was my Androids IP address for the gateway. I tried with the Android IP address identified through cmyip.org, 22.214.171.124, and with the one identified through ipconfig command, 192.168.43.1. Neither address was successful. Also, I am unable to access my router using the IP address that I manually assigned to it.provide some assistance on the process of bridging from an Android to a wired PC through a router, Linksys WRT54G v3,
