Sansung TV - No Proxy Setting / Getting It With Wired Hub?
Sep 27, 2011
So we purchased a Samsung PN64D8000 television for our company. The TV is "internet-ready", provided you don't use a proxy as a security measure.I phoned Samsung, scoured the web and confirmed that there is no way to specify the use of a proxy server and port on this television.Or... is my fear correct that proxy's can only be configured on the end device using the internet connection.
I would like to connect devices to my network so that their traffic passes through a proxy running on my computer. I figured the best way to do this is by setting the proxy on my router to the one I am running, but then I would need to have another connection to the computer running the proxy or else there would be an infinite loop ?? something like that. so:
Internet -> router (1) -> my proxy on comp A -> router (2) -> computer B
I have two computers (192.168.1.101 and 192.168.1.102) connected to a TP-Link TD-W8960N (192.168.1.1).I have the following softwares:[URL]However "Freegate" is a proxy software, but it still has some restrictions on particular websites, so I planned to bypass this limitation like this:
1. I ran the Freegate on 192.168.1.102 and then opened CCProxy and then I used Proxifer to set all data transmissions of CCproxy through Freegate by setting a rule in Proxifer. I put IP: 127.0.0.1 Port: 8580 Protocol: HTTP in Proxifier.
2. I ran Proxifier on 192.168.1.101 and set the IP: 192.168.1.102 Port: 808 Protocol: HTTPS as the proxy setting in it.I checked the internet and the configuration was successful. It seemed like I had directly run Freegate on this computer and since I tested those particular websites and they were blocked by Freegate servers, so everything was correct.
3. Now I managed to set a chain proxy configuration in Proxifier in 101 so I could bypass the Freegate limitation. I went to Free Proxy List - Public Proxy Servers (IP PORT) - Hide My ***! and picked some free SOCKS5 and HTTPS proxies. I tested them individually to see if they were working properly and they were. Then I set the chain proxy like this:
192.168.1.102:808 (HTTPS) IP:Port (HTTPS/SOCKS5)
It didn't work... I received "connection closed unexpectedly" in Proxifier on 101 and "IP (the IP I picked up from hidemyass) : Client requested HTTPS connection. use separate HTTP connection for this." on 102.
1. I also tried Port Forwarding on my router and it didn't work either.
2. I couldn't connect CCProxy to Freegate via other protocols in Proxifier rather than HTTP. When testing I got the error that Freegate doesn't support SSH protocol. This most likely means that there is no built-in interface in Freegate to allow other softwares to connect to it via other protocols rather than HTTP.
3. I used port scanner to see if any other ports were open on 127.0.0.1 so I could use another protocol, and nope there wasn't any rather than 8580 : HTTP.
I am attempting to set up a proxy on a home network that is used for business purposes. I am not at all a networking person, I know enough to be dangerous. If I follow the steps listed here: URL Will this encrypt the data that is sent to the internet from any computer that connects to my network or just the one I follow the steps on?
My router is a Linksys BEFSR81.Recently I installed a proxy server and now I would like to setup my router so that only the proxyserver (HTTP traffic) can connect to the Internet.
One of the schools whose networks I administer has a peer to peer network running about 30 xp machines. DHCP is achieved and DNS settings distributed via a basic Linksys router; is there any way of distributing proxy server address and port short of entering manually in LAN settings of IE on every terminal - there is no budget to install a server.
I've looked through the documentation that came with the router and there is no instructions on how to configure the 4000 to accept remote clients and access the local network. What the configurations are so a client can launch the vpn client, login, and remote desktop to their local workstations in the office? I don't have any tunnels or connections setup with other offices, just a simple client connection. Also, will the rvs4000 work with Cisco VPN client (comes with higher end appliances)?
I have been running a email/web/ftp server on one server for 9 years. I have currently acquired a Barracuda spam 300. I cant get the emails to go thru the barracuda first. Here is how it is setup: my email and web come in thru one outside address..call it 166.5.5.5 I have a 1 to 1 nat for 166.5.5.5 to 10.0.0.2 (email/web/ftp server) ports 25 and 53 are forwarded to the 10.0.0.4 (barracuda) then out on 25 to my 10.0.0.2 no emails go thru as long as it is set this way I can nat the 166.5.5.5 to the barracuda first and emails go thru, but I lose my web and ftp will this router work for me? I was told that i needed to change mx records for email to 166.5.5.6 and then forward nat on that address to the barracuda. I dont really want to change mx records for 10-12 email domains.
I access the internet from my companys LAN, which has a restrictive firewall, so I cannot request the admin to open any ports manually for me. Hence I use a software called your-freedom. This proxy software supports both http as well as socks 4 and 5 proxy (by entering the proxy IP 127.0.0.1 (localhost) and Port 8080 for http proxy OR 1080 for Socks Proxy), and I have successfully been using web browsers and some other softwares that support proxy/ allow proxy info to be entered to login/ connect to the internet. Your-Freedom also supports port forwarding. However, the softwares I intend to use do not have any options to enter proxy methods or proxy ports (as far as I have noticed). I have tried to proxify these 2 softwares using softwares such as SocksCap and Free Cap, but either they dont work, or my settings in proxifying are not correct. I believe I will have to do port forwarding or proxify the softwares, but have been unable to do so in the correct manner.
Following is the info on the 2 softwares:
1.NOW Trading terminal:[FONT=Times New Roman]Normally when I start the NOW or Zerodha software, the software starts and I get a login screen, but under firewall conditions, I get the initial Splash screen but then the software stops with the error: [b][u]NOW Initialisation failed for Interactive Engine << os error>>.
2.PowerIndia Bulls:The software is written in Java and starts with a batch file (PowerIndiabulls.bat) located in C:UsersDEFAULT_USERNAMEAppD..... I converted this batch file to .exe (with battoexe software) and then ran it through a proxifying software. The .exe start properly without proxifying software but not under proxifying environment. Basically the software needs to connect to the internet using Port 443. I am also expected to keep ports 443, 41599 and 59598 open. software's requirement is available at Indiabulls Securities: Indiabulls Securities is a leading capital market company offering securities broking and advisory services, depository services, equity research services to its clients in India. (item no. 5).To confirm, while the software is unable to connect through port 443, you will get an error message: "Connection to Login Server could not be established" when you try to login with any random Username and Password. To know that the software is able to connect properly, you will get an error: "This User ID is not enabled to be used with this product".
I have been having some issues connecting my PC to my XBox360 using the wired approach, it seems to be massively temperamental to a point i decided to not connect the XBox via my router and instead put it straight into my spare network port on my PC. The basic jist of mynetwork confirguration is something like this: Internet cable > Virgin Media 256 Modem > Linksys BEFSR41 Router > PC. I had no issues with this setup, but as soon as i wanted to add my XBox into the mix, things got tricky. I plugged the network cable from my Xbox originally into one of the ports on my router and then went through the settings on both my Xbox and router. Again, i had absolutely no confidence in doing this myself since i don't mess with it, but after reading guides i finally got it sorted. Well, partly sorted. I was able to connect to my Xbox Live, however i was unable to connect to my Xbox to my PC (To stream files onto the Xbox). This was what i wanted to do, i didn't really want to use the Live anyway. So i went off to work again. In the end nothing was working, so i opted to connect my Xbox directly into my PC - So it was no longer connected through my router. I could SEE my PC on my Xbox, but i was unable to connect to it to stream anything. I then opted to disconnect my router (For no other reason than to rule it out) - Sure enough, the very second i disconnected the router, i was able to instantly connect to my PC and was streaming straight away. Once i was streaming, i was able to reconnect my router and that was that. But if i turned off my Xbox i would need to also turn off my router the next time i wanted to stream. How can i fix this so i don't have to continually turn off my router, is there a setting somewhere in the options on my router which can allow me to connect to my Xbox? Windows 7 Xbox 360 Linksys BEFSR41 - 2.00.02 Firmware
I have 2 sub nets within my office: 172.16.1.0/24 and 172.16.2.0/24. All devices on each subnet are wired independently from each other into the server closet. Previously each sub net had it's own switch in the closet to connect to that sub nets servers. We are replacing the 2 switches with a single Dell 2816 managed switch.
Is there a benefit to setting up the switch with 2 VLANs over just letting everything pass through the switch in un managed mode?
My only security concern is this: 1 sub net has access to the internet while the other does not. Does setting up 2 VLANs provide additional security by preventing 1 subnet from accessing the other? In other words, if a computer with internet access gets hacked will it being on one side of a VLAN prevent the hacker from accessing the other subnet?
I purchased and set-up the EA4500 on Thursday. Friday my ISP (Charter) was out and worked on connection for over 2 hours due to slowness issues. Connected directly to modem I get normal ping times on whichever computer is connected. When I get the computer connected by the router (hard wired) I get very long ping responses up to 900ms. They are all over the place 30ms (I can live with that), up to the 900's. I contacted Linksys support last night, who had me update to the cloud firmware and change MT U to 1300, have not noticed a difference. I did end up doing a hard reset on the router last night after I lost tech support. We were disconnected with router rebooted, and I didn't have the patience to connect again last night.
It was so slow on my work computer, a pint to yahoo timed out. The computers connecting to router are
XP SP3 (mine) Win 7 Home (IPV6 turned off) Work laptop that uses VPN and VOIP
I have an e2000 wireless router and have several devices connected by ethernet cable including private data on an external hard drive. I am planning to allow a tenant in another building connect via an ethernet cable connected to my router. Can I limit that computer (tenant's computer) from accessing all other devices connected by ethernet cable to my router? I know can password protect wireless access and limit access to the internet that way -- but my question is specifically to connections by ethernet cable.
My E4200 router no longer accepts any WIRED connections. I can connect from the modem to the computer and everything works as expected. I can connect other computers wirelessly to the router. I cannot connect any laptops WIRED to the router. Nothing has changed on the systems to restrict internet access. There is something wrong with the router and the WIRED ports. I tried going through the troubleshooting on this site but it was of little to no assistance. The Cisco Connect utility doesn't appear to accomplish anything either. My guess is because I cannot connect to the WIRED ports on the router to connect to the internet to allow for whatever troubleshooting that needs to be done.
I have a home network with a wired BEFSR41 that, for a variety of reasons, MUST be manually IP configured (DHCP off). All computers and other devices connected to it are manually IP configured. I desire to add a device that cannot be manually configured, and needs DHCP. I therefore need to daisy-chain two routers with the second one DHCP on (and manual IP connection to the main network). The new device needs two-way internet access, but doesn't care if it sees any other current network devices. I've tried several configurations, none seem to work.
I have a WAP54G in my basement shop, wired to our main router upstairs, which is a Linksys BEFSR81. I'm not sure if this is an issue with the WAP or the router.
I only use the laptop computer in the shop every couple of days, but I leave the laptop plugged in and on most of the time. I used to have the power settings such that it didn't power down completely even after a long time. With that setup, if i didn't use the computer for several days, it would find that the connection to the router had died. The wireless link would report that it had a solid connection, but I couldn't connect to anything. Power cycling the WAP always fixed this.
Recently, I decided to save some wear & tear on the laptop drive, and adjusted the power settings to go to standby after a couple of hours. Now, it seems I can't even go one day without losing my connection.
I am running the latest frimware in the WAP, and the router is version 3.1. I can't check the firmware version on the router at the moment, because the web interface is giving me a blank screen. I know from past experience that I will have to power cycle it to get it to talk to me again.
In any event, it seems like the router connection to the WAP is timing out. I set the router "client lease time" up to 10000 a while back when I first had this problem, but that is clearly not doing the trick.
i am currently using the college internet, but due to restrictions utorrent is somehow blocked we use a proxy ip and port to use the neti've tried "tor" but it too is blocked now i am unable to use torrentspls suggest any other effective proxy softwares
I have recently been having a very annoying problem with my internet connection. I am not able to connect to some websites: the sites that are unavailable can not be accessed on any device connected to my home network (wireless or plugged directly into the router). I know that the problem does not lie with the sites themselves, since they are working for other people, and I know the sites are not blocking my IP, because when I reset the router, the problem sites become accessible but other sites become inaccessible (on all devices). The problem isn't the router either: I've tried two, and the same problem has arisen with both. Moreover, I have established that the problem does not lie with DNS resolution. I have repeatedly flushed the DNS cache; DNS lookups work fine on the problem sites, but when I ping the given IP addresses I am getting some packet loss (not necessarily 100% loss). When I use a proxy, I can access the sites without any problem.
my internet connection has dynamic IP. So when I download some file from file sharing site, and if my internet connection breaks, my download can't resume from where it had stopped since my IP adress is changed. But if I stop the download manually (without breaking internet connection), as the IP address remains same, I can resume the download from that point. I mean can I use a proxy server so that everytime the download resumes, it reports a constant (static) IP to the website?
I have a Dell Inspiron E1505, I am currently in France and trying to connect it the University's proxy server, and I have followed ALL instructions provided by the university as to how to go about doing this. Each time I enter the proxy address and everything and it doesn't pop up an error message or anything like that, it simply doesn't connect to the internet or give the opportunity to input my password and username.
how to trace IP when proxy is used.someone I know is playing a prank that might cause my marriage to break. That person uses proxy with many different IP and also a loopback. does anyone know how to trace the IP even with the above is used.
I have an issue here, I need to connect to various anonymus proxy servers, the ip's of which can be freely found on the web. I've tried doing this from a broadband connected computer and it's ok, but the thing is that when I try doing this from a computer that is tied to o router, it doesn't work at all.
Currently working on Proxy Authentication on a catalyst 3750GCisco's documentation says that I can customize my own web pages for the login, success, failure, and expire web pages. However, I am having a difficult time finding a template to build upon.
my work is done,... and i dont know what i have to do...so i open the control panel > administrative tools and see all the content...click the service and see all the content and etc...nah,.... suddenly my Yahoo messanger disconnected... i dont know why...i try to relog and can't connect...commonly, when i want to connect to the internet, the password for proxy windows is appear..but know it doesnt appear...
I have some problem to get working ACLs.The main purpose of this ACLs is to control what is going out from my network to internet .For example, i want that only my proxy can access to the web.
How would I set up my own anonymous proxy server with my own ip address without having to go on a proxy list site? I don't care how complicated or time consuming it may be, I'm a very fast learner and I do things extremely quickly.
