Security / Firewalls :: Comodo Firewall - No Internet Access
May 8, 2012
I installed Comodo Firewall today, and I couldn't access my Internet from then. I actually liked it's UI and all and want to keep it. The only something that I felt that might be causing the problem is "Use Comodo Secure DNS Server"? Is it likely the reason to be the cause of the problem?
I'm having some problems with a sonicwall pro2040. The problem is this: I can access the sonicwall remotely, and I can ssh into the sonicwall and ping various websites, and get replies, but my connected PCs (Connected by the LAN port) have no internet access. I have never set up a sonicwall before this one, and I feel like there is something I may be missing. Do Sonicwall devices block WAN access by default? Do I need to configure the default route?
i am using windows vista on my laptop.i was using zone alarm firewall, but switched it to windows firewall.after switching, my internet was cutoff. i can see that i am connected to my network, but cant get to internet.when i run diagnosis on my laptop, it gives me three options:
my Ethernet driver is having hardware issue.
my wireless driver is having hardware issue.
ip protocol binding is having issue. check ipv4 and ipv6 settings.
So, I have this router at home a WRT150N. I put in access restrictions so my siblings won't stray onto unwanted pages.I enabled SPI Firewall Protection and what do you know, it worked. The next day though, we didn't have an internet connection.I checked everything with the modem (power cycles, etc.) and then I tried the router. Upon disabling SPI Firewall Protection, the internet connection came back.I tested it yet again, to see if it really was the SPI. Enabled and bam, no internet access again. I made sure to select "Allow" in the Access Restrictions for "Internet access during selected days and hours" making sure also that "Everyday" and "24 Hours" are selected. Now my question is, what do I need to do in order to enable my Access Restrictions without having to lose internet connection via the SPI Firewall?
I've Googled without a relevant result. I've searched the Comodo forum at great length and in detail. I've read the Comodo guide (all 300+ pages of it). I cannot find a description, in language that I can understand, of how to enable file & print sharing through Comodo's Firewall, with their free Internet Security product, version 5.5.
I am trying to figure out how to give computers that connect to my LAN limited access. I have heard that some viruses, though rare, may travel through the network and infect all computers on the network. I want to prevent this. Is there any way to give computers connected to my network strict access to only the internet to prevent viruses or any other harmful attacks?
I've created a hostname & account with [url].... for my vpn setup. It was working fine until 2 days back. owa was accesible and configured MS Exchange on iPhones.
Suddenly it stopped working. The updation of IP from ISP is happening @ chnageip.com site, but when we ping the hostname, it is not resolving to new ip and is not pinging. Our users outside the coporate's internal network is unable to access.
I configured a dynamic vpn(easy vpn) in a cisco isr. But the vpn clients cannot access any of the lan devices. VPN pool is 10.0.0.1- 10.0.0.20 & internal netwrk add is 172.17.x.x. I tried to disable zone based firewall but no resultout[CODE]
I was under the impression that those global addresses that we used with NAT were from the outside IP addresses range?Lets say my outside IP address is idk 126.96.36.199 /30 and I only had two usable IPs (since you can't use network and broadcast IPs) so how would I set up NAT for a couple of Inside addresses with a shorting of addresses like this? Idk if that makes sense what I'm trying to say
I've been trying to open ports 5800 and 5900 for UltraVNC and checking them with online port checkers, but they are always listed as closed. I've even tried taking town windows firewall, my router firewall (although as soon as I disable and apply, it automatically switches back to enabled again), and also DMZ'ing my router. I wonder if it might have something to do with my new modem, but in the config page for that, the advanced settings are locked out. the modem is an arris TM722G, and the router is a linksys wrt-54G with DDWRT firmware.
I'm running windows 7 x64 and using a static local IP, I want to be able to use DynDNS to connect to UltraVNC.
I am running a Kodak all in one printer through a Billion 7800n router. The desktop computer running Vista is hard wired and the portable running Windows 7 is wireless to the router. The Printer is hard wired to the Billion router. Where are running Norton 360 on both computers. Everything was running fine until two weeks ago and we get the error that the firewall is stopping access from both computers. I have tried turning off Norton but no effect so I assume it has something to do with the firewall on the Billion 7800n router? Why stop now after several weeks of working fine after setup?
I have one Fortigate 200B Fire wall, which is using for wifi internet. i had configured one login page in the fourtigate .The path following below system > config > replacement message > authentication > login page.
it was working earlier. suddenly its not working. when i checked this path, that login page message colum was blanked. when i trying to put the message again its not pasting and am unble to type the message also.
Previously we had no problem with remote users connecting via VPN but recently they can't connect and i've checked the firewall and it shows the errors (see attached jpeg) but I'm not sure what it all means.
I need remote access to certain programs on my home PC but I just cannot get it to work.
When I set the programs port preferences (i.e. port 8087), I can connect with"127.0.0.1:8087" and webcamXP work fine. But when I replace the localhost with my external IP (lets say 188.8.131.52, so that would be "http://184.108.40.206:8087".I tried port forwarding: I have added the port to my NAT in the router's setting so it should be fine, but it is not (numbers are fictual of course):
external port start 8085, external port end 8089, protocol TCP/UDP, internal port start 8085, internal port end 8089, server IP address 192.168.1.215)
I also tried disabling AVG Internet Security 2011's firewall temporarily just to check it it was blocking it, but got the same result.I checked if Windows own firewall was on, but it is off.I cannot find any setting in the router's own configuration screen to disable any build in (router's) firewall (if it has any).
I have disabled windows firewall in Windows 2003 server control panel but only few ports are shown opened when i scanned with advanced port scanner why other ports are closed. How to open the closed ports?
I have a sonicwall tz-170 that has a standard interface. It is the main system with IP 192.168.1.1.Another location using IPs 192.168.0.1 has a dvr (192.168.0.154) with ports 80, 37777 and 37778.I can access them from the main location just fine but setting up a service then a rule does not allow me to connect from outside the network. I assume this is the same for anything trying to reach the other side of the vpn but I'm not sure
Windows 7 I could not able to browse internet, because it showing DNS problem. But I can able to ping my gateway and I can able to get internet in Windows Xp. I am using firewall in my campus. There is any problem in my firewall?
Recently i had suffering with wireless connection problem, currently my wireless router connected to WAN directly, after that go into firewall and then go thru switch to end user PC, for LAN user there is no issue, but for wireless connected PC it is prompted with limited connectivity problem(DHCP is disable on router), after check with ipconfig /all. it seem likely due to wireless PC cannot get the IP from DHCP server. i am using DLink615 router. i had checked firewall setting there is firewall policy that connected all router ip into company LAN, but i don't think there is DHCP VPN setting up. is there anyway i can go thru firewall and get IP from DHCP server because if i set up DHCP on router, it cannot pass thru and access to LAN.
At my small business (30 employees) we currently don't have a hardware firewall. Should I have one? If so what do you recommend? We are all connected to a Windows Server 2003 domain in one office building.
I've got a problem with Norton 360 6.0. Everytime it updates its definitions, my internet disconnects and I have to reboot my computer to get it back. However, every time I try to command prompt a ping, it says I'm connected as does my networking center.
how can I set password for my wireless internet? I used to have one, but today I have fully restarted modem and router to factory settings, so password is gone. Now I'd like to set it up again, I have TP-Link router.
I am having some trouble with the antivirus software.I had AVG antivirus installed but I thought it was causing some problems. So I unistalled it and downloaded a trial version of Bitdefender.Got it installed and found out I can't browse the web via Firefox. So I was trying to go through all the settings in Bitdef. but no luck.Uninstalled BD, rebooted the comp, still no internet. I did clean the registry and spyware as well. But the weird bit is that somehow I can browse the internet using old IE8 (64bit only. 32bit is not working?).I was also trying to re-install AVG but it could not complete as the connection with their server was blocked. It seems like something is blocking everything apart from 64bit ver. of IE8.
I'm finished with formatting my computer to install a clean Windows 7 Ultimate. Then, I connect my PC to the modem I have, to browse the Internet of course. Well, everything runs fine on the first start, let's say I have installed Google Chrome, Microsoft Office, and some other software I still not installed it. And when I restart it and tried to run Google Chrome for example, it said "Google Chrome has stopped working", it's happened to almost every software in my PC, let's say I tried to install VirtualDJ, then the Installer is corrupted, so was the Google Chrome installer and Microsoft Office Installer. Before they are all corrupted, there was a suspicious thing named 'winblmguf.exe' trying to access the Internet through my firewall.
I have been having some issues with Windows Audio needing to be restarted every time I log on. Also my theme has changed unexpectedly. I also noticed that Wndows firewall isn't started and it won't let me start it it gives me this...Could not start the Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing (ICX) on local computer. Error 3 access is denied.
Is it true that the FCC is investigating the Pogo game site because of poor security? Is Java the cause of this problem?I'm very leery of getting on the Pogo site because I've been told that my computer could get a virus and crash.
I'm new to IT, and have been put in charge of managing our servers hile my boss is on vacation. We currently have a Sonicwall Network Security Appliance that handles our Firewall/VPN and have web content filtering set in place.I have a user who belongs to 2 CFS policy groups that we have set up. I've double checked with Active Directory, and he is a member of both groups.
This person SHOULD have access to Job searches/ and Restaurants, but receives a "content blocked" message on his browser. It appears to me that the settings in Sonicwall are correct, as well with AD member groups.
